A word from Lark Creek Blue
Santana Row welcomes a new dining destination this summer with the launch of Lark Creek® Blue which opened its doors on August 1, 2012. The restaurant features ocean-fresh seafood, a selection of USDA Prime and grass-fed steaks and a variety of globally-inspired seasonal dishes under the direction of Chef Paul Bruno. Lark Creek Blue is housed in the space formerly held by Yankee Pier, which had its last night of service on Sunday, July 15, 2012. The space has been completely renovated to offer casual, contemporary design with a circular raw bar, open kitchen and ample covered patio seating, perfect for warm summer days and nights.

  • "Warm welcome upon arriving early before opening. Immediate attention to sit down early. Sat outdoors in beauty of Santana Row. Lovely ambiance. Delicious spicy, swordfish fettucini. Everyone enjoyed their selections...salads, clam chowder, calamari, The desserts can't be beat! We shared and loved lemon meringue pie, butterscotch pudding, and rhubarb/strawberry pie. One was better than the other! Service was impeccable. Server was very cheerful, knowledgable, efficient, and attentive! Great place to people watch, too!"

  • "Had friends in town and wanted to show them Santana Row. At the last minute, we were able to get into Lark Creek Blue. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Great food, drinks and excellent dessert. Don't miss the butterscotch pudding!"

  • "I was hesitant to try this place due to many lack luster reviews but I was lured in by the excellent variety of oysters they offer.. I tried 4 different types and they were all impeccable fresh. I was also impressed by the preparation and presentation of the dishes I tried. I can only imagine why some reviewers found the service lacking. The service I received from Lina was exemplary in every way.. I was also visited by Chad the chef. He was very pleasant and personable. I could go on an extol the virtues of the wine list which included some great by the glass choices but by now you may be thinking I own the place. I really don't own or even know anyone here I just loved this place. Come early and enjoy!!"

  • "Had the spring special 2 course lunch menu ($16), plus $5 for any dessert, which was part of a local promotion from selected restaurants that included a free movie voucher during April. It was a deal! The fish and chips with coleslaw were delicious. The panna cotta had a nice texture, but could have used more sauce or flavoring. The almond cookie it came with was delicious though. Overall, service, food, and atmosphere was very good."

  • "Definitely would return - was a party of 3 and everyone was very happy with both salads/calamari and the main dishes - it was an early dinner - very quiet and great for conversation."

  • "This was our first time at the new to us restaurant and we loved it! the service was exceptionally good. the food was delicious! We had salmon over potatoes and some veggies, and it was outstanding. I have nothing bad to say about this place. Will be there again!"

  • "The food was okay, but what also knocked it down a notch was the service. Goodness, it too long for the waitress to come to us. Our dinner took two hours. Anyway, the food was good. We got a tuna tartare to share and it tasted pretty good. My friend got the lobster spaghetti since the yelp reviews raved about it. He said it was good. I got the kale and apple salad. I enjoyed that a lot, it tasted really good. I also got mac and cheese. It was toasted on top so that added a little something. They did give us a complementary dessert for my friend's birthday so that made up for some of the not sso great service. It was the chocolate semifreddo and it was really sweet. I did like the toasted almonds that came with it."

  • "We had a tray of oysters with one of each brand they carry. It was so cool to see the different types. My family shared a pitcher of bloody mary's. The entrees were wonderful, but I can't remember what they were. We had a frozen chocolate dessert that was heaven. Our waiter was extremely attentive and helpful. I was pleased with the choice for a Sunday birthday brunch."

  • "Outstanding food preparation and knowledgeable service.....just right. We went early, which was good thing because the crowd arrived as we were finishing. The best thing I could say is that we WILL be going back!"

  • "They seem to pride themselves as a seafood restaurant, but I was just not in the mood. However, the steak salad was very, very good. Tasty and nicely presented. Nice to sit outside at Santana Row."

  • "Celebrating family birthdays, so it was a special occasion. They did make an effort to meet our request for a quiet table, but once seated the service started to slip. Our waitress was inattentive and we had to ask for her twice, although the restaurant was not busy. The food was good but not great. I've been there a few times before with much better food and service so I won't give up on it just yet. I would recommend they replace those shoestring fries (which are no more than a plate decoration) with a roasted potato, especially with the fish entrees."

  • "The food was OK, the people were nice, but the service was very slow and not attentive. We were there for 45 minutes before we had bread and water on the table. We had to ask to have water refills. The orders were slow in coming. The cioppino entree let me hungry, probably because it had no swordfish in it as advertised. We had to ask for dessert menus It is a very nice restaurant I hope they can get their act together."

  • "Went the first time with friends from out of town. We enjoyed everything but one thing puzzled me. Our reservations were at 5 PM and we sat down to order and eat a first course. Around 6 Pm when we ordered the main course, the very efficient, knowledgeable and perky waitress informed us that the polenta that went with the dish of lamb served two ways was not ready--the polenta wasn't ready??? Help me understand how that could be at a modern restaurant? It only takes at most 20-30 minutes the old-fashioned way--.and so we were forced to choose another vegetable. Other than that we had no complaints."

  • "The open table reservation was easy to use and they had just what we had requested. We requested a quiet table at 5:30 for a party of 2. The hostess was friendly, saw our reservation immediately and asked us where we preferred to sit. We asked for a secluded booth at the very end of the restaurant and she seated us there. Everything was great. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional."

  • "Our date night was a hit at Lark Creek Blue- Arriving on time and sitting right down was a good start to the night! From the manager to our waitress, we were beyond thrilled with our service..... we were well taken care of the moment we sat down. The food and ambience was fantastic. Slight down fall was the sewage smell coming from the drains as we sat out site, the bus boys made sure to spray the drains often to reduce smell, which we appreciated. OVER ALL, we gave this past Saturday night a 5 star, we look forward to returning soon."

  • "I've been here a couple times for brunch and dinner. I have a Passport Dining card which provides a 2-for-1 entree discount. I don't think the prices are justified and wouldn't dine here unless I could use the buy 1 - get 1 free offer. I've had the angus new york strip and the petite filet. The steaks are not that warm when they come out and are a little bit over or undercooked (I usually order medium rare). I'm not sure if its an entree timing issue or if they are letting the dishes sit on the counter for a bit. The prime rib was okay too. Make a reservation on open table in advance so that you can skip the wait when Santana Row gets crowded."

  • "We had been there one time when it was in transition from Yankee Pier and were less than pleased. Decided to give it another try and were very pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was completely redone, the service was great and last but not least the food was simply superb. I had ordered the lamb and my husband had the swordfish. Will definitely go there again."
    Dined on 3/7/2014
  • "I had the swordfish and my husband had the ribeye. The swordfish I thought was cooked well and I liked the lemon orzo and chard. My husband felt the ribeye was ok. Nothing to write home about. Overall it's a decent restaurant. It's not our favorite but it wasn't bad. We would go back there to try something else. The outdoor area is really nice and would be nice on a nice day."

  • "Does being in Santana Row automatically jack up prices by 100%, even though the food is not that good? The Cioppino was good, but the beef eaters were not happy. Food was way over-priced for what it is: mediocre. $300 total cost (with tax and tip) for 5 people to eat dinner."

  • "Stopped in at 8 p.m. for a late dinner (we usually eat around 6). My son and I each ordered the rib eye steak (medium). He had it with the signature steak sauce and buttery potatoes, I ordered mine with the horseradish sauce and had the fries with garlic. My husband ordered the cippino. We absolutely loved it. We watched other tables with their oysters and will definitely be heading back to get that the next time. Definitely recommend it. The steaks were absolutely cooked to perfection and we plan to make it one of our regular restaurants."

  • "Lark Creek Blue continues to become a better restaurant and adjusting their menu with better offerings. I am a big fan of their eggs benedict but this time I noticed they now have a croissant breakfast "sandwich" ... it sounded great. My friend had the huevos ranchero which was also new this visit. He said it was excellent. Of course, you can sit either outside or inside ... but they have this lovely spot that's physically inside the restaurant, yet you can enjoy the view of the happenings in Santana Row."

  • "Lark Creek Blue was a good choice for our (53rd) Valentine's day 2 pm lunch. Cozy table for two, warm ambience, sophisticated but not pretentious menu, good (i.e. tasty) food and friendly but unobtrusive service. It was a great prelude to a memorable evening."

  • "Skipping to the chase... B- minus in my book means probably won't go back given other stellar choices in the area. Ambiance was good as was the service. Food prep was lacking, unfortunately, given the restaurant's pedigree. Crab Louis did not use classic Louis sauce - I get "recipe interpretation" by chefs but this fell short. Steak au poivre (pepper sauce) relied too heavily on the sauce for flavoring and while the steak was cooked perfectly, it lacked in taste as nothing was used in the cooking to enhance the sauce flavoring. Overall, not a "bad" meal but bang for the 120 bucks wasn't there. I'm used to paying that on Santana Row but unfortunately that means I'll seek that level of a meal across the street."

  • "I have eaten here before but had a particularly bad experience this weekend. We ordered appetizers that were never brought out to us. Our dinners arrived and the special of the evening, parpadalle bolognese was not good. The noodles which were advertised as homemade, tasted anything but homemade and the sauce was tasteless. The waiter brought one of the appetizers out 10 minutes later, but never offered to take it off our bill. One positive point is the manhattan on their menu was fantastic. Other than that, the experience was very poor overall, the food was mediocre at best and the service left everything to be desired."
