Welcome to Chef John Sundstrom’s Lark, one of the Pacific Northwest’s premier, artisan-focused restaurants. Located in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, Lark offers a warm dining experience meant to be shared with friends and family. Our menu features small plates of locally-produced and organic cheese, charcuterie, vegetables, grains, fish, and meats, all prepared with a signature focus on flavor and quality.   • "Perhaps restaurant week menus are ill fated, but nothing about the three course dinners my girlfriend and I had knocked our socks off. When I spend more money and ingest more courses than I normally would, I want it to be a new and interesting experience. None of the food was bad, however some was bland and in general underwhelming."

  • "I took my husband here for his birthday as well as to try Restaurant Week on a Sunday evening. The food was absolutely terrific and the service was so nice and so considerate and pleasant. We sat by the window and enjoyed the street view. Wine was very good. I highly recommend Lark for a lovely evening dinner. I would avoid Friday or Saturday night due to the parking challenge but Sunday evening didn't prove terribly bad."

  • "Nice little small plates. Each plate was excellent. However, the service was lacking. They need more servers, on a Friday night our server was running around all over the place and was ignoring us for long stretches of time. While many of our dishes came out on time, our main plates took almost 30minutes to come out. A great food experience tarnished by problems with service."

  • "The portion of each dishes is small to medium, which is perfect for us to try variety of dishes just by two people. The artichoke salad was OK but other dishes such as sunchoke soup, yellow snapper carpaccio, and hanger steak were all impressive. Will try again when they update their new menu."

  • "i reside in olympia and was in seattle to attend a comedy show with some friends. being the foodie i am, i usually try to go to a well reviewed restaurant in seattle whenever i have the opportunity. we ordered several item such as squab, lamb shoulder, whole sardines, raw artichoke salad, and cheeses. with the exception of sardines, all the dishes we ordered were quite exceptional. sardines were just mediocre and i will not order it again. service was really nice and our wait person was very knowledgeable about the food items the restaurant offered."

  • "This was our first visit and won't be our last. We don't live in Seattle and searched Open Table for a good restaurant within walking distance of our hotel and Town Hall. We were very impressed. Every dish was a delight. My husband had the halibut and raved that it was the best he ever tasted. We also liked the format of ordering several small dishes that we could share. The staff was familiar with the wine list and made an excellent suggestion for us. The atmosphere was both charming and relaxing. Next month, when we return for another performance at Town Hall we know where we will be dining."

  • "My wife and I ate at Lark for our 7-year anniversary. The food was rustic, delectable, divine and delicious. The servers were all so kind and attentive. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend the 5-course meal."

  • "We dined here on a visit to Seattle. Parking can be a bit of a challenge in Capitol Hill, so arrive early. The dining room had a rustic, dim, romantic vibe. Seating was a combination of a wooden banquette along the wall and wooden chairs (no cushions, although I never felt uncomfortable in the chair). The menu has a wide variety of options. We chose five plates to share plus dessert, which were served in courses: pork lomo, sautéed wild mushrooms, hash brown potatoes topped with clabber cream and paddlefish caviar (yummy!), artic char, lamb shoulder and dessert. Everything was exceptional. Definitely ask your server for help in choosing your menu options."

  • "Food was good but hit or miss. Gnocci was great. Mussel dish was tasty but one mussel was very sandy. One potato dish was undercooked and cool in the middle. Cheese selection and bread was very good and wine was great."

  • "Loved Lark in the past; great food/service. Ordered 2 appetizers, grain course and then meat course as the main. Asked for each course one at a time in the order received. Our "meat" course wasn't a meat course but a pasta. Our grain course was gnocchi and even worse, they brought out the meat course with the gnocchi. The two didn't go together well and it was disappointing using the same plates for two uniquely different dishes. A great server would have mentioned something when we first ordered. Didn't like the eye roll when I asked for a cappuccino with dessert. Didn't like feeling put off cause I can't drink alcohol either. Why go back when great food & SERVICE can be had everywhere else in town? Makes me melancholy for the old Lark."

  • "We went to Lark for dinner based on its James Beard nomination and we weren't disappointed! Food is served family style and although our server said she could bring the food out in a specific order or together, it came out as it was ready. We started with the Land Jaeger & two mustards, then came pomme de terre "Robuchon" (not exactly like Robuchon's - not enough butter) - but mashed potatoes on their own? I think it should have come out with our main courses - duck leg and hangar steak. My dinner companion wanted his steak rare, but the chef cooked it as he wanted, medium rare. We also had the spinach side dish. They also had a 3 or 5 course tasting menu which we may try next time. Booth was a hard wooden bench seat."

  • "I would return because of the lovely ambience..great service..and impeccable combining of flavors in each of the small, but ample Dishes. Favorites were the "special" salad with complex, delicious dressing..and the octopus and the wonderful new almost sour Dough bread that they make in house."

  • "This place has a huge menu and a great vibe. Service was excellent in describing our dishes as well as accomidating some allergies. Food had some hits and a miss. The lomo was cured wonderfully, the lamb shoulder just the right amount of spice and the coconut sorbet a great combination. The octopus dish had great flavor but the cooking of the octopus itself needs work, I have never had it that chewy. I know from experience how tricky it can be but I would have never let that dish out of my kitchen. There was no communication of the cooking temperature on the squab dish. I know it comes down to new vs. old school but it was on the very rare side. Once again great flavor but technique needs work. Overall we had a wonderful time."

  • "I went to the Lark on a date. We shared two small dishes (liver pate and steak tartar), two entrees (octopus and duck), and one desert (bread pudding). The liver, octopus, and bread pudding were outstanding. It was probably the best break pudding I have ever had. The steak tartar was good, but he cracker served with it eclipsed its flavor. The duck was a bit boring; just a leg of duck with nothing special about the flavor. The service and ambiance were excellent. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience there, and I would definitely recommend it."

  • "Good service, great food with original "twists"; parking is miserable that area in general and a little loud as the evening picked up. I would go back in a heartbeat though and would recommend Lark to anyone looking for something a bit different than the usual bistro."

  • "It had been over a year since I went to Lark; it is a bit of a trip to get there but for a friend's birthday we made the journey across town. Parking was an utter nightmare - we were ready for a cocktail when we walked in. Even though we had booked reservations we were seated in the awful table by the door kind of separated by a fabric curtain. We were not happy with the seating - there was no alternative for us. Service was mediocre; the waiter left too long gaps in between checking in on us - we were told they could make any cocktail only to find out they were out of St. Germaine...As recalled, food was really delicious. Not sure we will be back."
