Diner Reviews
  • "Was so hoping to love this place. Hard to find, food was dry, setting was outdated."

  • "Go for the location, come back for the food. Terrific birthday surprise! Parking is terrible, but given location it's to be expected. Valet was half the price of the meal for three with apps and drinks."

  • "In October 2013, we brought our friends visiting from France. Great service, decent food, good ambiance. Last Sunday, (again with friends from France) night and day. One waiter serving the entire floor and outside (the same great waiter we had in October), managers not paying attention the the floor and mediocre Cuban sandwiches. We know it's South Beach but the owner should be watching her empire. We will not go back again."

  • "Many local Miami friends raved about Larios. What they did not realize was that during our Miami visit we would be dining in a temporary location in the Cardozo Hotel while the permanent location is being renovated. That said, we will chock up our experience to one akin to a placeholder. The menu was very limited and many Cuban cuisine favorites were absent from the menu. The food was fair, not great and served at room temperature. Few vegetarian options. The presentations were unimaginative. Our waiter explained that they were sharing the kitchen with another restaurant. Our waiter was top notch. It was our experience with our waiter that has encouraged us to give the restaurant another try when it is back at its permanent location."

  • "Only fair food quality, very expensive drinks, only fair service. Too many to choose from to come back to this one."

  • "In a temporary location in the Cardoza Hotel right now, but still the same great food!"

  • "Larios was great, Yisel, the Manager and the waiter were very professional, attentive and kind. Everything was perfect and delicious but the valet parking was a nightmare. It killed the experience. We waited more than an hour, the managers and the front desk people called the service repeatedly and the attendant did not show up."

  • "Larios has been relocated because the resturant is being renovated. If I'd known this I would not have booked. The temporary space is ugly and the place was empty on a Saturday night. I Had the award winning pork. If it was an award for dry tasteless meat then I can see why it won. Friends had eaten their in the past and said it was a great and lively place. Hopefully it will get better once they move back to their original location but in the meantime I'd give it a miss."

  • "They are in a temporary space which is not as nice as their location that is being renovated and I think that the food suffered. The waiter was very nice but unable to make decent recommendations ("everything is good, it depends on what you like"). I'll go back when they move back to their permanent locationln"

  • "We were a small group of 10 in Miami for the Boat Show. There is a nice selection of Cuban meals and the setting in one of the art deco hotels on Ocean Drive was classic. Our waiter was an older gentleman with a great knowledge of the food and helped us pick the perfect meals. We will be there again next year."

  • "I booked a reservation thinking this was the same "Lario's on the Beach," I had always been to. When they called to confirm, they mentioned they had "moved" to down the street. I figured, "that's strange, but let's try it; maybe it's even more fun!" Turns out, they are renovating their original space (they never mentioned this), and the current space is only temporary. It basically feels like you're eating in the lobby of the Cardozo hotel. Food was ok. Ambience was a completely 180 from the fun, lively, restaurant we knew. Save your time and your money; wait for the renovation to be done."

  • "The entrees were too salty, the pork and skirt steak were just average. This restraunt came highly recommended as a "must try". I think things have changed dramatically over the years."

  • "I felt somewhat like an afterthought of the kitchen as they were cleaning up to go home. Maybe I was expecting too much regarding the food, but I wasn't terribly impressed with the."

  • "We waited a long time to get approached by our waiter which was unclear who it was. Very unprofessional and not helpful with the menu. We did not get our drinks for awhile and we were told they did not have plantain chips when the table next to us got to big plates while we were eating our main dish."

  • "The food was good. Pulled pork, rice, French fries.plantains. We sat outside but it was a bad place to sit with the hustle and bustle of the hotel guests and waiters right next to us. I believe the restaurant was in a temporary location while there home is being remodeled. So I might try it again when they move back."

  • "Really enjoyed the restaurant, it was a quite Sunday evening and we dined outside. Food was really good and service was excellent. and we had a nice and unhurried dinner. Would highly recommend it."

  • "I was excited when I thought this restaurant was going to be outside. It did have some seeting outside but it did not have any heaters like the restaurant upfront had. This place can be a romantic place...it's a small restaurant but did have good food. The other part I didnt like was that the bar was a whole seperate company. So you had to close out your tab with the bartender before coming to the table. We had a good time just expected to have a wow factor and I didnt."

  • "Very disappointsed with the quality of food. Crispy pork was too dry to eat. Maybe Han a couple of bites. Even the sweet plantains were dry and tough. Typical touristy place."

  • "The flavors of the for were great, but the for was all overcooked and dry. I got the appetizer combo and it had good selection but the fried pork bites were dry. The mahi dish was also cooked till dry and hard. The shredded steak had the most incredible flavors but way to dry to enjoy instead of having the juices in the meat carry the meal. Mojitos were standard and good. Service was good and all staff was very nice."

  • "Who do you blame when the rice is mushy and cold? Same for the fries. It's like the kitchen just slops whatever's lying around on the plate but the entrées were delicious.... So overall it's a recommendation because the food was authentic and delicious"

  • "The food was good. Authentic Cuban food. The staff was great. When we first arrived at The Hotel Cardoza where Larios is located we walked through another restaurant /bar associated with the hotel. We told them we had reservations and the gentleman asked if it was for Larios or ? (I forget the name of the other restaurant). We told him Larois and he proceeded to inform us the bar he works for is having happy hour. He did direct us inside to Larios but it seemed like he was attempting to poach Larios business for a minute there."

  • "Food is always great here. The only thing is this is a pop-up location while the other one is being remodeled. The Larios entrance is on 13th. While Cordoza is the outside restaurant. Same great Larios food."
    Dined on 11/30/2013
  • "In its temporary location at the moment, so it was quieter than usual. Highly recommend the mojitos, shredded beef and shredded chicken. (Typing in dark excuse typos)"
    Dined on 10/26/2013
  • "Decent location and ambience let down by the food. The starters were not freshly prepared...items were definitely reheated...the taste and the fact it took less than 5 mins between ordering and receiving made that clear. Asked for skirt steak prepared medium...was very well done! Mojito had tons of sugar. As this is the pop up...hoping the original restaurant is far better"

  • "Our party of three were blown away by the traditional Mojito pitchers and outstanding entrees. The food was delectable and the service was fast and friendly. Highly recommended for its menu options and location :)"

  • "So glad we chose this restaurant for our first night in Miami. The Mojito packed a punch and we managed to dine al fresco, a treat for us British. The food was tasty and satisfying with a great menu choice. Would definitely return and recommend."

  • "The restaurant has recently relocated to the Cardoza Hotel and they have done a good job with the interior decorating. If you love good Cuban food then this is the place to go. All your favorites are here including some specials. We came during "Miami Spice"(Aug thru Sept) and had some opportunity to try a couple of new dishes they were good. By the way don't forget the "mojitos""
