The dining experience was spectacular from start to finish and we cannot stop talking about it! First was the warm welcome we received upon arriving, then the cozy comfortable space, and then the most amazing food we have had in a long time. Each item was prepared with attention to detail in terms of flavor, texture, heat. The service was lovely. I cannot wait to return.

The food was incredible! We cut right to the chase and ordered 2 filet's and they were probably some of the best steaks we have ever had.
Definately one of the best meals I have had since moving here and I already made my reservations for next time!
We were able to get the seat by the window. It was über romantic. However, the 6 top next to us was totally obnoxious and it totally killed the mood. Thankfully they left just as our food came!
Don't come with more than 4 people and don't bring your children!

Can't say more about L'Ardoise. One of our top five in San Francisco. Perfect neighborhood restaurant with good prices and wonderful service. Best confit de canard I've had in the US.

Really sweet little bistro. Not cheap but nothing like downtown restaurants. Had a really lovely lobster bisque and dessert was great. Just the right end to a hardworking day.

Absolutely lovely restaurant. I miscalculated and arrived a little later than my reservation, but the staff was still attentive in finding a table despite my little mishap. Every single course of the night was presented in a simple, yet elegant manner, but the incredible taste of each one caught me by surprise! I had heard the food was delicious, but I have difficulty in choosing my favorite dish of the night...! The staff was very friendly and neat, which made my dining experience the highlight of my day. Volume was a little on the loud side, but it was understandable since the atmosphere is charming and makes you feel very comfortable! L'Ardoise is quite the little gem of a restaurant!

Had a lovely dining experience last night. The bread was fresh and crusty, enjoyed the brussels sprouts salad was excellent, and the coq au vin was the best we have ever had. Though tables are crowded, the restaurant has a very nice ambience. The only significant downside is the parking situation -- we were lucky to find a space on the street, but that seemed to be the only option. So arrive early and be prepared to search.
