  • "I am disappointed that Lanny is changing the concept of his restaurant but looking forward to trying his new one. Lanny's Alta Cocina was by far our favorite special occasion destination. The food is fabulous - adventurous, creative, consistent. His churros are the best I've ever had or ever will have. I hope they are on his new menu"

  • "Great service, great meal. Chef Lanny is very friendly with his patrons. Sad to see them closing their doors, but excited to try out the new, casual, "Righteous Foods.""

  • "Just wow! We went for the prixe fixe with wine pairing. Not the standard Mexican cuisine, but Mexican influenced foodie menu. They were very willing to exchange out some elements to meet the preferences of our group, no qualms. From the soup, seafood, to entree.... all fabulous with well paired wines. Excellent food, served well, not rushed. Will do this experience again!"

  • "Great food and romantic setting!, a real find these days with the noise level so high at most places! Loved the creme brûlée!"

  • "Good food, innovative and creative menu, one entree delivered against expectations, the other was average - very good service - food is a bit pricey but, wines are over priced I will go back again to give it a fully evaluation. "

  • "This was one of the most outstanding meals my husband and I have ever had. We participated in the Chef's menu and each item was better than previous. Our waiter was attentive, personable, and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this restaurant. One of the best in Fort Worth!"

  • "Lanny's is one of the top restaurants in all the metroplex and he has masted the art of cooking fish to perfection. A casual and understated atmosphere with fresh seasonal menus. There is no way you can go wrong with Lanny's for a special occasion, business dinner or a large group."

  • "My husband and I had never been to Lanny's Alta Cocina, but now we are initaited, we will be returning often. We both had the Tasting Menu, and savored every bite. I asked to substitute one item on the menu, the veal sweetbreads, and they gladly allowed me to have the tamale in mole appetizer instead. I have only had veal sweetbreads one time--at Thomas Keller's French Laundry in Yountsville, CA, and I sent them back. I assumed they are just not for me. But then I tried some of Lanny's on my husband's plate, and they were deleicious. I am a convert. The sea bass was velvety perfect, the carne asada was outstanding. I can only say if you have not eaten here, do so! A hidden gem in Fort Worth."

  • "Lanny is a genius who is not appreciated fully by the Ft Worth dining scene. He is a master chef and his menu shows this genius. There is great thought put into the menu and the execution is perfection."

  • "Dinner for Valentine's Day was wonderful, as all of our visits to Lanny's have been. We each chose a different 3-course dinner and, of course, sampled each other's food; everything was scrumptious! The bonus of the chocolates at the end of dinner just added to the wonderful experience we had that night. The wine pairing worked well with all of the courses, except I would have preferred to have a less-bold selection for the sea bass (the red wine that was chosen for that course went very well with the steak, but was a little heavy for the fish)."

  • "The botanas (appetizers) were excellent, especially the duck tamale. The carne asada was fair, but the highlight of the night were excellent deserts (including a wonderful guacamole ice cream). After having recently moved back to the US from Europe, this restaurant possess an offbeat kind of Euopean "feel" that might not be evident to Fort Worth regulars. The ambiance may be closer to Spain than Mexico actually. It kind of reminded us of a restaurant just at the step of El Convento de San Esteban de Salamanca (without the spectacular view of course). Overall a good experience."

  • "I always enjoy dining at Lanny's. The food is sophisticated, fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. Don't expect Tex-Mex, because that's not what they do (thankfully!)."

  • "Incredible food - does a great job of being inventive and clever and melding some combinations of ingredients you wouldn't necessarily would have thought would work AND sourcing high-quality food without being fussy. The staff and the chef were incredibly warm and generous and thoughtful. Taking the menus after we ordered our appetizers so we wouldn't have to deal with them was a nice touch and a nice subtle reminder to take our time with the dining experience. Make sure you get the chocolate cake with mango-avocado ice cream - I could have eaten five more! The whole experience was great and made the night feel like an occasion."

  • "The food is always wonderful, the service gracious and helpful, but our last visit to Lanny's was unbearable because of the extreme noise. Two very large parties mixed into the regular dining room made the dining experience miserable for anyone else in the room. We left before finishing our dessert and coffee because the piercing laughter and screaming conversation from one end of a very long table to another made conversation at our table totally impossible. It was a completely miserable experience. It will be a long time before we go back on a Saturday night for sure!"

  • "We went here before attending a preview of a show at the Kimbell and we loved it. We started with wonderful margaritas that were the best we have ever had. The menu was very intriguing, so we finally decided to do the tastings with wine. Every bite and every sip was perfect. Even if you don't do the tasting menu, you must enjoy their extraordinary goat cheese key lime pie. We can't wait to return."

  • "I have been to this restaurant twice and loved it both times. First time I mistakenly entered the restaurant in ultra casual clothes, however the impeccable service treated me no different than the other patrons. Both times I had the 5 course tasting menu paired with the wine tasting menu. Excellent."

  • "My wife and I recently had dinner at Lanny's for the first time. We found both the menu and the wine list to be so varied and interesting that we ended up ordering the five-course tasting menu with the wine pairings. That option was slightly pricy, but we found the entire experience to be well worth the money. All five courses--which were selections from the regular menu--were outstanding and very inventive. (In fact, despite the restaurant's name, this is more of an upscale American-European fusion restaurant than one that features traditional Mexican cuisine.) The wine pairings were perfect and, in each case, we were served a glass of something we had never had before. We look forward to our next visit to this outstanding place."

  • "Service began with a meatball amuse-bouche. Tender and flavorful, it was a great sign of things to come. I decided on the lobster ravioli from the tappas menu. My Mrs. had the asparagus soup both were WONDERFUL. Mains: the carne asada was tender and juicy but the STAR was the ancho-gnocchi. I didn't think I liked gnocchi and only tolerated it before this experience. My Mrs. had the house-made Tagliatelle with veal/ancho Bolognese. You must, must, MUST try the Tagliatelle con Bolognese. My Mrs. made clear she was leaving her conference to have the leftovers in the room. It was that good. Two quibbling points. While the chocolate cake is good, the avocado/mango ice cream is not. There's booze in the coffee. Boy is there booze in the coffee."

  • "I took my husband to Lanny's for his birthday. I had requested a romantic table and we were seated in a tight space between two large groups of people. The food was good except the service was very slow. I noticed that it was someone else's birthday in the next table and everyone said Happy Birthday, but nothing was said to my husband. I specifically mentioned when I made the reservations that it was my husband's birthday and I really wanted to make it special. Thanks, Victoria Andrews"

  • "Had a wonderful meal at Lanny's, again. Took some Dallas friends there and got to show one of our great Fort Worth restaurants. Each of us had a different entre; Rack of Lamb, Pork Tenderloin, Carne Asada, and Sea Bass. All wonderful. Great coconut mojitos top it off. Service was wonderful, unrushed but prompt and attentive."

  • "My wife and I had the pleasure of eating at Lanny's. We were greeted by a competent maitre d' who who had read our reservation request and held an appropriate table for us. The service was excellent and impressive to experience. We ordered the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairing and were greeted by wonderful, appropriately sized servings. The roasted red pepper soup was amazing, and set the bar for the rest of the presentation. It was so nice to have Lanny serve many of the dishes and stop for some small talk. Sea scallops, halibut, and lamb followed and each was a flavor journey worth taking. Desert was a goat cheese and key lime cheesecake that was wonderful. We've already passed the word on to friends and family."

  • "It had been a while since our last visit to Lanny's and when we saw it listed as a restaurant choice to support a favored local charity we knew that it was time to make a reservation. Besides the regular ala carte menu Lanny was offering a prie fixe dinner with some of those proceeds going to support the charity so we chose that option. We started with a delicious cream of pasilla chilies soup containing chunks of quail and avocado then moved on to choices of pork chop and lemon sole for the main course. We also chose each of the two dessert options. Everything was delicious with reasonable portion sizes and excellent timing of the service. We also chose the optional wine pairings with each course and Lanny always does a great job."
