Diner Reviews
  • "I've dined here multiple times and generally make a reservation. I always end up sitting at the table at least 30 minutes after my reservation time because the restaurant is always busy. This time we arrived 15 min early for our reservation and sat down after waiting 35 minutes past our reservation time. Our waitress came back a few min after taking our drink order asking if we were ready to order. The first three things we ordered, they were out of. The waitress should have told us once we ordered drinks that they were out of things on the menu. Very frustrating and annoying. The service has been only fair every time I've been there. I always want to give it another chance because the food is generally good."

  • "Langosta is an excellent restaurant in Asbury Park, and the food is consistently good. It definetly has a hipster vibe. The only negative I would say is that on a Saturday service can be a little iffy as we waited a very long time between appetizers and our meal."

  • "Made a reservation on opentable for 7pm. Had to wait until 7:45 anyway for a table. Why did I even use opentable? We got the short ribs and the duck entrée both of which were just ok. Not a lot of flavor at all. Service was slow. I could only image how much worse it would be during summertime. Will not be back."

  • "We always love going to Langosta. The menu is so creative and always has something new. Don't expect to order anything bland or boring"

  • "The menu is eclectic, unique, and diverse. Cuisine from different cultures and regions. it's a fun, tasty, trendy meal. It's an anchor of the Asbury Park scene. It's on the boardwalk across from The Stone Pony. Most tables have an ocean view."

  • "Really enjoyed dinner at Langosta. The menu is varied, good ingredients, fresh and healthy. Very good service, knowledgeable and friendly. The only problem is the noise level. Conversation can be a real challenge. Not a great place to catch up with old friends or the events of the day."

  • "Langosta Lounge has been a dining staple for me for years. The menu is creative and consistently good. The service is always friendly, well informed and responsive. On this trip I had the goat cheese and vegetable pizza. It was outstanding. Consistency is hard to find in the restaurant world. Consistent greatness is even more difficult to find. Langosta always delivers for me."

  • "My date and I had a great time...the blackened char was awesome! And the service was very attentive...overall a great night!"

  • "Although we were seated on time the service was terrible. Our drinks came in a timely fashion but that was it. We ordered a calamari appetizer that took 40 minutes to arrive. It was greasy and an unusally small portion. There was no bread on the table. They brought the salad with the entree one hour and ten minutes after we sat down. We wanted cappuccino for desert and was told they had none. All this took 2 hours. We would have had 2 more drinks but with no bread and a 45 minute wait for the appetizer, we thought better of it. We were there about one year ago. They served a nice bread and dinner was served in a timely way. The salad came first and dinner wasnt rushed. we were very disapointed"

  • "Met friends for brunch and we had a marvelous time at langosta lounge. The food was excellent and you can never go wrong with carafes of bloody marys and mimosas! The whole place had a wonderful laid back feel and I would definitely recommend it - can't wait to go back!!"

  • "Super-convenient for a pre-Stony Pony dinner -- right across the street. Was seated right away and a waiter took our drink order within a few minutes. Eclectic menu: we had lobster fried rice (great, with big hunks of lobster), pot roast (very lean and moist), and pho (slightly bland but they provide lots of accoutrements so you can season to your own taste). So many other interesting-looking dishes. Will definitely go back to try them. Attentive service, nice wine list (for glasses and bottles). The tables are kind of close together and it's bit loud for dinner but not intolerable, and more than fine if you're looking for a fun night out."

  • "Our dining experience overall was outstanding. We were seated right away and the service was friendly and quick. I loved that there were specials exclusively for Valentine's Day and there was even a free mariachi band! The only thing that would have made the experience better, was that the lights were very bright, right on us for the beginning of the meal but that was remedied after the band began playing."

  • "Went for Valentines Day with a reservation and a request and we were seated on time, and our request was met. The food was amazing as always! Both of us had sushi, it was fresh, the plates were clean and wanted us wanting more, but to full to take another bite! Thank you for a great evening!"

  • "Seated at 9:45 after we were 20 minutes late (we called an hour in advance to let them know). They had a nice but loud mariachi band. The food took forever (past the point of the manager apologizing, but nothing beyond a few conciliatory words) and the waitress seemed hard to get, but it was Valentine's day so they get a partial pass on that. Hers was quite good; my steak was a bit on the fatty side but not bad."

  • "Having lived near the Asbury Park area, I happened upon this restaurant and wanted to try more. Their menu for the winter matched the same variety as it did during the Summer. There is most definitely options for everyone and even those not willing to try an unknown dish are tempted in trying something new. I went with a party of seven incredibly discriminate diners of varying ages (20's-70's) and there was not one complaint by the end of the evening. The service was impeccable as the first time I went. The staff was attentive and willing to give their opinion on entrees and alcohol. Long story short (too late) though the plates may be pricey, the experience is ultimately worthy."

  • "I don't know why I don't go to Langosta Lounge more often! It's definitely worth the drive. I was delighted by our server, Nina, whose extensive knowledge of the menu helped me select a meal to fit my dietary options (due to a health issue). When cooked carrots were the only vegetable I could have she went next door to Pop's Garage to retrieve some for me. Now that's awesome service! I had the delicious pot roast and kugel which was such a large portion I took half home for another dinner. When I opened the bag a few days later I smiled to see that someone had written the name of my entree on the container's lid and the date. Top this off with a window table and the ocean steps away and you have one amazing dining experience!"

  • "This restaurant used to be one of my favorites. We went to celebrate a special occasion, but we're so disappointed with our meal. The beef on the Pu Pu platter was chewy and the ribs were too fatty. Our entrees were even worse. The short ribs were dry and lacked flavor. The NY strip steak was covered in a heap of grilled onions, which were actually delicious, but this was not mentioned on the menu; and my fiancé hates onions. His steak was also dry and overcooked as well. The drinks were good (Langosta Rita and glass of Pinot Noir), but that was really the only redeeming part of the meal."

  • "We came in Monday for sushi night & the waitress completely failed to mention that the sushi chef was ill when she seated us. We waited about 5 minutes until she came back to ask for the sushi menu; it was not until then that she told us that there'd be no sushi. I can understand if this was a regular night, but this was advertised as sushi night. The waitress also had to go in the back several times to ask what the specials were because there was no printed menu. Many other things were also missing from the regular menu! It took us about 30 minutes to find something for dinner! This restaurant was great before Sandy. I have no idea what ownership has changed, but something needs to be adjusted fast. I don't think we'll be back for a while!"

  • "So glad this place reopened! Went for New Years, food was fantastic, and free tapas and drink every hour to celebrate New Years in different countries. Inside not as cool as before the hurricane, but it of course takes time to rebuild. Still love the atmosphere, and prices are just right. Totally recommend!"

  • "Ate their New Year's Eve. They had a price fix setup at 75 pp. my dinner was awful and desert really skimpy. My wife's dinner was ok and her desert skimpy as we'll. I would have given them a zero for food, but I've been there before and it is usually great and the owners are really community minded."

  • "My boyfriend and I along with 2 other couples went to the early seating for dinner on NYE. Food was great, but the small portions left me hungry when I left. They did new years around the world every hour on the hour starting at 7pm with tapas and drinks. We had a really nice time. Looking forward to going back!!"

  • "I come as often as possible for tapas at Langosta... they never disappoint! Some of the best cuisine in Asbury."
    Dined on 12/24/2013
  • "the food was of poor quality. tasteless and not hot. There was an actual rubber band in one of the dishes which presumably was from a lobster claw that had been utilized in the dish. That was very disturbing. The brown rice in a flounder special was not cooked and the dish was very underseasoned- no flavor. It was a very dissatisfying meal and we will not return."

  • "It had been a long time since my friend and I had been to Langosta. We weren't loving the dry chicken and flavorless tapas. Their new menu is exceptional though. Having ordered 4 appetizers between the two of us, we left full and satisfied. On top of that, we showed up late for our reservation and should have just been able to order from the bar menu, but we're offered the full menu anyway. Service has always been great, but I'm glad to say that the food is now a perfect match."

  • "It is a great restaurant on the boardwalk in Asbury Park, NJ. The restaurant is finally open after Sandy, the storm of storms. It was our first time here and it was terrific. We received an e-mail from them the day before explaining that parking would be at a premium - how thoughtful!. The food was very interesting - the menu offered a variety of meals, all served with vegetables or spices and herbs from their garden outside the restaurant. There were five of us and some picky eaters among us. But as the meals came out, each one was pleasantly surprised. The vote from this bunch was let's do it again. Afterwards we walked on the boardwalk.. The view was wonderful, but what can you say bad about the Atlantic Ocean?"
