"Excellent Italian food, great atmosphere (rustic Italian meets post-modern industrial, and it really works in a weird way) in an urban setting. Friendly staff, good service, excellent bread!

Only a block from the Orpheum and within walking distance of galleries. Great place to eat a fabulous meal before seeing a show."

"We had tickets to a show at the Orpheum on a Friday night and all had a long week. L'Angolo was perfect for a bunch of tired adults looking for a good meal and a glass of wine (or two) before a show. Will definitely go back."

"Food was bland, not very interesting, and very salty. It was not bad, just not good. We sent the appetizer back because it waa not good. Poor ventilation, smoking inside. Only two waiters, who did a great job, but the restaurant was understaffed."

"Weak wine menu. Ordered on bottle it was far too warm. Waiter (who was very good) noted that it was a warm day and the wine was upstairs, not in the cellar like other bottles. We sent the bottle back, it had no flavor."

"I had the salmon special, which was crusted with shredded potato-- unusual and very good. The crisp coating was a nice contrast to the salmon and the steamed spinach. Hubby had the other special, a shortat rib ravioli in cream sauce. Also very good. The waiter was very friendly and knowledgable about the menu and the wine. We will definitely be back. We were eating early to make an 8pm curtain at the Taper, and only two other tables were occupied. So it was very quiet. Not sure how it would be during the dinner rush."

"Third time at the Restaurant (I live in SD). Totally addicted to the Mango Salad. We had three different ravioli's which were all drop dead delicious!! The sauces sound rich but don't leave you feeling uncomfortable and are often lighter than you would think but with a real depth of flavor. If L'Angolo was in SD I would never cook."
