A word from Langdon's Restaurant
Langdon's Restaurant and Wine Bar is located in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, just across the Cooper River from the historic city of Charleston. Chef and owner Patrick Langdon Owens has taken Lowcountry cooking to a different level. Crispy local grouper served atop brie grits with applewood smoked bacon chardonnay basil cream or pepper crusted tuna over baby greens with avocado relish and wasabi-topped with fried leeks are just two of the many wonderful selections that are featured at Langdon's Restaurant and Wine Bar.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Having lived in Charleston for many years and sampled the beef filet at numerous restaurants throughout the city, we can unequivocally say that Langdon's has the best filet in town. Always cooked to perfection with a luscious reduction. Plus, the service is impeccable. What a treat!"

  • "Very quietly it is so obvious to this Charlestonian that Patrick Owens' original place - - Langdon's - - is so underrated. We repeat patrons appreciate the team he has in place there. We also hope he never loses sight of that and frequently doubles back to keep his team happy !!!"

  • "On our way home from shopping in Charleston we decided to try Langdon's. What a wonderful experience. The food was beyond our expectations and the service was impeccable. Absolutely would recommend the gnocchi and pear salad. We will definitely return again."

  • "We are regulars. It is one of my very favorite places. We have a special booth and we always have great service. The food is delicious. I highly recommend the Hawaiian tuna over avocado and slaw. Yum!"

  • "Been dining at Langdon's for years and it is always excellent. The food is on par with Charleston's finest downtown restaurants and is conveniently located with plenty of parking. Service is also very attentive but not overly so and they have a good selection of wines. Priced like the downtown restaurants, but the quality and convenience are worth it. The filet and the tuna get rave reviews!"

  • "How to combine excellent cuisine and actually hear what your lunch partner is saying? Choose Langdon's. Dinner is always an elegant, festive affair at this fine venue, tucked behind a BiLo's. As a neighborhood resident, I often choose Langdon's over Shem Creek or downtown: convenience, a relaxed ambience, and so many appealing entrees. On this occasion, my visiting investment counselor looked forward to local seafood for lunch. Plus, we required a place to converse in private. He enjoyed Langdon's "Daily Catch," as well as bottled sparkling water and...a memorable dessert. Seated in a booth, we stayed two hours going over figures but were never rushed. This visitor intends to re-visit Langdon's with other clients. ."

  • "We loved our experience at Langdon's. There was one minor detail that bothered me and my husband. As we entered there were two hostesses that met us with warm smiles and "hi Guys!" The word "guys" was repeated as we were seated. "Enjoy your dinner guys!" For an upscale restaurant I think the greeting and term "guys"used for your customers should be upscaled too!"

  • "Langdon's was the best restaurant during a week and a half of sampling the best of Charleston and Mt. Pleasant. My wife holds out for Husk as her favorite, but Langdon's tipped the scale for me this time. (I love Husk, too, but don't miss Langdon's.) Its unassuming location, low key atmosphere, and placement in Mount Pleasant ought not mislead you--this is a very fine restaurant. The gnocchi appetizer was sublime. The flounder special was excellent. The chocolate chip cookies--well, I start working out again tomorrow. Abbey was a delightful server. If we lived there, we'd make it a regular stop. Go to Langdon's."

  • "We celebrated our daughter's new job there with our family of six. For the food and service the pricing was great. We enjoyed the casual ambience without the intense noise or music. The staff was very attentive and professional."

  • "This is one of the best restaurants in Charleston. The food, service and ambiance is phenomenal. The bar is also excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant and it should be on one's list to try when visiting the Charleston area. We dine here frequently and always bring out of town business associates to the restaurant. Eveyone loves Langdon's."

  • "Langdon's is a very charming restaurant located in an out of the way strip mall in Mt Pleasant. When you step inside you know from the atmosphere, service, and decor that it is definetly uptown. We enjoyed a delicious cheese tray with wine. I had a fish dish that was perfect! We are in Charleston very often and this is now one of the favorites."

  • "All of the food we had was excellent, combined with great service made our visit to Langdnon's a wonderful experience. Excellent wine at a good price and one of the best aged ribeyes I've had in a while. Also had the rack of lamb, excellent. Can,t wait to go there again."

  • "We do have to go "out of our way" to eat here...but...it's soooo worth it! We normally get a steak(filet) and a fish dish... as we did our last visit...and it was GREAT! Kinda makes you wonder why you try "new" places.....when this is so good! Hat's off for consistency!!"

  • "Just celebrated wife's birthday at her (and mine) favorite restaurant in Mt Pleasant. Highly recommend to all our friends and family. Do yourself a favor and check it out if you have not all ready."

  • "We did a lot of research on restaurants and decided on Langdon's based on reviews and the menu, not realizing it was in Mt. Pleasant, and not downtown Charleston. It was a little hard to find, located in an odd strip-mall, behind a discount grocery store... But what a find! The food and service were outstanding! Unusual cheeses and condiments on the daily cheese platter. The crab-cake was delicious, served over lightly sautéed heirloom tomatoes in a tangy vinaigrette. The shrimp with Andouille sausage was perfectly seasoned. As a main course, we had the Bolognese, which was rich and a little spicy. The Grouper was served over a fresh corn risotto, delicious! And the Berkshire pork-chop perfectly cooked, with interesting tomato-Brie grits."

  • "There are better restaurants in the area given the price of the food. Staff very friendly and professional (A++ there) The bar area was small, but very cozy. Would be the only reason to go back."

  • "Frank was an outstanding waiter in every way. He explained the menu clearly. When asked specific questions regarding Various entrees , he was completely knowledgeable. Frank was well versed on the wine list and most helpful. Frank was attentive , polite and responsive to all requests. This provided the exclamation point on a fine dining experience."

  • "We love having this restaurant in Mt. Pleasant. The creativity of the food always surprises us. We've never been to Langdon's when there has been anything but excellent service - and all in a quiet, and relaxing atmosphere."

  • "The service was somewhat slow after the food was ordered. The food was just ok and the prices were similar to what you would find downtown. I know some people that love it, but I personally would not go again. "

  • "We had early reservation for 5:30 so it was quiet as we arrived. Atmosphere is calm and clean sleek decor but feels warm and inviting. Our server was very informative and pleasant. Drinks arrived very cold and shaken as requested. All four of us loved our entrees.. Two had grouper pan seared with risotto and buerre blanc sauce which is always fabulous! Another had the homemade pasta special which had just the right amount of kick to it. And one of us had the filet with creamy whipped potatoes and delicious Demi glacé sauce with mushrooms. Nice touch is the chef comes out and personally delivers food to you. Midway through our dinner the restaurant was filled but noise level was still at a pleasant level. We will definitely return. "

  • "Langdon's has done all it can do to create ambience in a strip center box. If you're interested in a terrific setting and amazing views, Langdon's is not for you. If the food matters first, however, Langdon's is tough to beat. The sesame sea scallop was seared to perfection - buttery in texture and full of flavor, but not in a way that disguised the scallop. Like the scallop, the tuna had a beautiful sear, great flavor and was perfectly complimented by fresh greens in a lite dressing. If you love to dine downtown like we do, don't forget about Langdon's. With a little better setting, it would give any restaurant on the peninsula a run for the money."

  • "This is our favorite restaurant in Mt. Pleasant. It will rival the great places to eat in downtown Charleston. The fish with the corn rositto is a favorite. Love the different soups and the pear arugla salad is fit for foddies. I have to mention Abby as our favorite server"

  • "Always a delight. Fantastic food and service. The first place we think of when we go to Mt. Pleasant to dine. No parking issues like you have downtown Charleston. Best lamb chops you will ever have! "

  • "a repeat visit to Langdon's proved that it is still a terrific place to dine. The lamb I had was outstanding and my wife's duck entree was just as she wanted. The oysters were just terrific if not a little pricey ($36 a doz). all in all a great night out. We'll will be back!!"

  • "The menu had so many interesting things, and everything we chose was fantastic. The shrimp appetizer on the polenta was superb. The wedge salad was the best ever. The tile fish on the risotto was perfect. The asparagus soup with shrimp was pure asparagus. The asparagus served with the fish had been cooked in lemon juice and was unbelievable. When you combine this type of food with excellent service, soft music, and prompt attention when it is time to settle the bill, you have a perfect evening."

  • "It was difficult to find tucked into its mall location but once inside the restaurant had a darker, cozier more elegant atmosphere that outside. The service was excellent with both Lydia and Victoria being attentive at just the right time and very helpful with suggestions. We were celebrating our anniversary so when we were seated Victoria brought us a complimentary glass of champagne which was a great touch. We will definitely be returning...."

  • "Not one negative aspect to our experience. Wine and food were excellent; staff made the evening even better."

  • "Although the website's juxtaposition of "fine dining" with "located in Bi-Lo shopping center" might seem incongruous, the food at Langdon's is surprisingly good. Once inside the entry, one can almost forget the co-located nail salon and Chinese food take out kitchen. I'm not sure that a ribeye is worth the $59 price tag, but I will say that each course was elegantly presented and had a delicious complexity of flavor. When other Charleston restaurants are fully booked for weeks in advance during spring and summer months, you may find a reservation at Langdon's. Though less trendy or aesthetically impressive than other establishments, the food is reliably excellent - which is the most important feature of an enjoyable dining experience. "
