Diner Reviews
  • "Had an appitzer of mussels & they were okay...we ordered our mains & ask the waiter how the chef prepared the meat & he said medium well.. When it came it was rare & my husband couldn't eat it. So they took his plate away & said it would just be a moment to cook it a little more. 10 minutes later they brought back the plate with the sauce & vegetables but no meat. I was finished my meal when his meat finally came. The waiter said he would look after us at the end, but brought us candy floss as an apology . We said no thankyou.. Bring us the bill. When the bill came so did the candy floss again... Our waiter never came back to the table. No apology , didn't say can we get you a dessert or coffee nothing. Choose a different restaurant"

  • "Not crowded at all on a Monday night. Grilled skirt steak was good, as was their homemade pasta with pesto. Solid food, smart casual environment. Wouldn't go out of my way to go here, but if you're in the area looking for a bite to eat, a good place to go."

  • "i ordered the rib eye -- very rare -- and it came, perfectly cooked and a huge slab of a steak! the creamed spinach was very good, if not remarkable. the lemon tart i had for dessert was lovely, and very lemony, but the portion was a bit *tiny* -- especially after the steak, i expected a much larger piece of the tart. the wine we had was nice, but i did feel the wine list was just a bit overpriced. the bottle we had was an American Rose blend, and it was $40, when maybe $32 would have been more reasonable. Service was first rate. The place was a bit loud and the lights a bit dim for 7:00 p.m. on a summer weekday night, but overall it was a very good dining experience."

  • "We found this restaurant to be disappointing. We were there on a Saturday night whilst staying in NY for weekend but there weren't a huge number of people there. We booked this place after researching places in the area on the internet. Whilst the service was excellent (relaxed but attentive) the food was a bit lacking in terms of quality. I had the filet mignon which managed to be dry and chewy, even though it was cooked rare. It took too much effort to cut the meat and ultimately I didn't eat all of it. The shallot bordelaise had no evidence of shallots and didn't taste like it had been made from scratch. My husband's cavatelli was much better although he found the sauce a bit heavy. The peas tasted lovely and fresh unlike my meat!"

  • "Impeccable service. Great ambiance. Outstanding food."

  • "…comes smothered in pesto. Doesn't mention this anywhere on the menu. Big misstep."

  • "The wine list is extensive, with a great half-bottle selection. The food is very good. Overall, I would have liked to rate this restaurant higher, but the service was poor. Our waitress spent most of her time chatting with the bartender and ignoring her tables. The manager joined in on the conversations."

  • "Surprisingly and disappointingly mediocre. Service is decent enough but the food was mediocre to barely passable."

  • "We landed at JFK at midday & were dining at Landmarc at 8.30 PM. The place is nice, the waiters very friendly & helpful and the hamburgers one of the best I ever had. I am sure we will repeat before our flight back home"

  • "Was very disappointing. I ordered it because it's a specialty of the house but it was like little soft rocks with a heavy glutenous pea sauce. Hamburgers and calamari were very good"
    Dined on 6/20/2014
  • "The fried calamari appetizer was outstanding. The filet mignon was a little overdone and prices ($39) were a bit steep; everything was ala carte. Wine selection was quite decent and the decor was quiet and trendy. Overall, a nice place."

  • "We chose this restaurant because of its celebrity chef owner and the good reviews we found on the internet, especially those that pointed out that this foodie appropriate restaurant is kid friendly. We weren't disappointed. The food was excellent and the kids were accommodated well. Our waiter was really great. Our reservations were for 6pm and when we arrived there was only one other table occupied. This was not a good sign, but business picked up quickly after that. Landmarc is not fine dining, nor is the food exotic, but it was a good choice nonetheless. My wife's lamb chops were the best she ever had and my signature pasta dish was also excellent. The kids enjoyed their peanut butter and nutella sandwiches and fries."

  • "I was looking forward to trying Landmarc and the restaurant was charming. Sadly, our server was not. She told us that all cheeses were pasturized on the cheese plate (had a pregnant friend) then came back to tell us only 2 were. Made a horrible face when the child at the next table screamed out (inappropriate). Was just not friendly in general. They were also unwilling to make any changes to items on the menu such as subbing a different side item. Due to the poor service we choose to leave after our first round of drinks and the cheese plate and found a MUCH friendlier restaurant down the street!"

  • "Great service! Great outdoor table. We had a delicious omelette (build your own) with salad and a fantastic Niçoise salad complete with rare tuna. Don't miss mini dessert ice cream cones! Hazelnut, coffee and mint chocolate chip were just right."

  • "The worst dining experience ever; i ordered the signature pasta dish with bacon and they gave me all fat chunks from the bacon in lieu of bacon. i sent the dish back and it ruined our nite out. The reviews of this place do not match the food. The table wasnt set; the served us bread with no plates. no one checked on us to see if we needed anythging and the place was not even crowded. Poor service and the food was not good. the chef should be embarrassed to send a dish with all fat and no bacon. "

  • "Landmarc TriBeCa was absolutely wonderful. I celebrated my birthday with a group of close friends and the ambiance and food was excellent. In the planning of my birthday celebration, I had to adjust my reservation twice and Landmarc was very accommodating and pleasant with those request. I arrived early and my table was ready and the waitress greeted me with a smile. I had a french toast like dish with as side of cured bacon that was to die for. My party had a variety of foods off the brunch and lunch menu. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we all plan to return in the very near future."

  • "We started off as a group of 10 and morphed to 13. The restaurant handled it in stride. Always good, reliable food that is great for a group. They are very professional, the menu is perfect (except it could use another couple of vegetarian options) and the ambiance is right."

  • "The bone marrow was outstanding. Brunch items available on the lunch menu. They open at 11:00am which is great for visiting the Freedom Tower and the 911 museum."

  • "My four college roommates and I had a delightful and tasty dinner. The wine special for the evening was a well priced and just right dry white Semillion Sauvignon Blanc. "

  • "Overall awesome experience! Great food, awesome wine list, cool ambience. However, if you want a more intimate experience, ask to be seated upstairs. In regards to opentable, my reservation never got to the restaurant had no record of it. Thankfully landmarc had open seating. "

  • "My husband and I were out for a special date night and thought Landmarc would be a great spot. Sadly, the food was incredibly disappointing. The short rib and ricotta lasagna sounded incredible, but it was cold and had no flavor. The steak was a B+, but the chimichurri sauce was mainly oil and a C. Our waiter was nice, but it did not make up for the food. Not worth it. "

  • "We were upstairs, which I think is a bit more spacious layout than downstairs. Excellent food - not too many options but varied menu to suit all tastes. Superb attentive but not intrusive service. "

  • "We booked a table of 6 at LandMarc to entertain friends from the UK who enjoy good food in a casual environment. While the food was good, the overall experience was lacking. We dined early since our friends had just flown in from the UK and found that many of the items on the menu were already unavailable. One of our party had to make 3 different selections until finding one that was available. One of our guests received a dish that was not ordered and had to wait several minutes until the proper dish was served making everyone at the table uncomfortable. The sides were served with no utensils for serving them. All in all, we will not return."

  • "Marc Murphy has definitely hit the mark with the food. The service and cleanliness certainly leave something to be desired. The short rib lasagna was to die for, the snail appetizer was delicious as well. The service was very quick, annoyingly quick wanted to get us out in record time. He was very polite and accommodating. But overall, the food makes up for the lack in service. Bathroom was dirty, paper on the floor, even though the restaurant was empty. I have worked in numerous restaurants over the past 20 years, so maybe I am biased, but the window ledges were dusty and the floor was not clean. Like I said the food will bring me back. "

  • "I wasn't sure what to expect with mixed reviews but I have to say the evening was splendid. Our server was very attentive and recommended a great wine. The odd thing is that they only have half and full bottles nothing by the glass. For our appetizer we ordered calamari and escargot, our entrees were fillet mignon and the quail. Everything was seasoned very well and came out rather quickly, we skipped dessert but will be back the nutella eclair. Over all service was excellent, the host was very accommodating giving us a booth when we asked for one. We will be back soon!"

  • "Took my small-town mom here for Mother's Day dinner. Good food, acceptable service. A slight delay in getting us seated (while we stood in the doorway). Host didn't seem quite as prepared / attentive as the staff at the Time Warner Center location. Waitress was very helpful in assisting my mother select a wine (which she enjoyed). Food was well-seasoned and tasty. Not quite up to my expectations from the other location, but my mom enjoyed her meal. Started with goat cheese profiteroles, which were very good. Three pieces for $12, a bit steep. She had the skirt steak salad [$27], I had the fluke [$35]. Also quite good. Overall: a good experience. Not perfect, but good food and reasonable service. A bit pricey. "

  • "The place is cozy with nice decor, has a solid menu and the food does not disappoint. Kid friendly as well. Highly recommended for local casual dining."

  • "The place is nice....the entrance blends into the wall really well and so it's confusing to know where to enter. I came here with my significant other to celebrate his birthday- The food was good- nothing spectacular but good..the desserts were heavenly- that was the saving grace.... service was good.. but there were noisy groups and at one point I was stared down pretty hard by the seating host when he was going to seat another couple- I guess he wanted our table because he did give us a nasty look after he seated the couple at another one. Although there are some good qualities- I don't think I will ever go again. "

  • "The food was great (I had the egg white omelette with spinach and goat cheese) the service was attentive and the space is typical Tribeca...thumbs up!"

  • "I have been a regular for a few months now and have had a great experience every time. Contrary to the reviews I have read this place is wonderful. The host has always been pleasant, he's very charming and always helping out at tables. The menu seems to be more "American" than French Bistro but its all excellent. I recommend the mussels in white wine sauce and the Cavatelli is out of this world! A great sharing dish. The best times to go are after 7:30pm as it is a family friendly restaurant and rowdy children will spoil your evening. Be sure to ask for the cotton candy!"

  • "Something has changed and the food wasn't as good as it used to be. The burger and fries, which used to be mind-blowing, wasn't as great. The fries weren't very good at all, not flavorful, not exciting. The mushroom burger was boring. The frisee salad was very good. The wine list is impressive. The vegetable entree (zucchini spaghetti type thing) was really drab - the sliced mushrooms on top were raw. Not cool. I can make a much better zucchini tagliatelle myself. The wines are only available by the half bottle - not by the glass. The booth we sat in was tight, a "re-design" the host said. The light was too bright at our table. In the past I've had steaks and burgers that were amazing but I won't be going back after this meal."

  • "We had a group of seven people. The service was exceptional. The waitress suggested some lovely wine pairings to accompany the lamb chops (excellent choice), homemade gnocchi (equally excellent), and several other dishes that my colleagues ordered. A wonderful meal and great space/venue. "

  • "Burgers, chicken sandwiches and salads were all good. The desserts are tiny and priced as such. There's even a way to order a medley of each. And birthday girl got cotton candy."

  • "Landmarc Tribeca was exceptional in all regards - creative food, great atmosphere, and, an incredible staff - knowledgeable without being intrusive and uber caring. The wine choices were unique and exceptional. The food was outstanding - the relatively basic dishes (chicken, pasta, steak) - a metric for skill and restraint - were outstanding! A great dining experience from crusty bread to crumbly berries."

  • " As a long time resident of lower Manhattan, I've eaten at Landmarc on many occasions. My best friend and I dine there regularly on Friday evenings. However, the last two times that we ate there we left with bad tastes in our mouths. Nothing to do with the food. Everything to do with the less than hospitable host. On both occasions, the first with no reservation, the second with one, we were informed upon sitting down that he would "need the table back by" xyz time. I just couldn't stand this type of comment on a 2nd occasion. I know how much money I've spent on steaks there in the last few years. I understand that there are schedules to keep and competing interests but this isn't the way to handle things. "
