Diner Reviews
  • "Actually, it was the service that was a problem. I had to ask for a spoon after my coffee was served. I had to ask for sugar after my coffee was served. We had to repeatedly ask the waiter for things. He was very nice and brought it immediately, but..."

  • "I had a wonderful time at Landmarc. Dinner was great. Service was great. Looking forward to going back!"

  • "It was very kid-friendly. Good menu options for kids and the paper on the table was wonderful for hangman, tic-tac-toe, and doodling. We enjoyed it! "

  • "Had the strip steak. It was very good. The desserts come in small servings but you also get caramels and cotton candy at the end of the meal. It was a bit too noisy and not the place for an intimate dinner. The fact that it's at the Time Warner Bldg at Columbus Circle makes it very convenient as a meeting place for dinner with a group of friends. "

  • "Landmarc has really hit a home run for upper westside families offering a chic atmosphere with an excellent menu both for kids and parents."

  • "If not great, it's at least consistent, and convenient to Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center We have gone practically since it opened and innumerable times since, as a result It's tried and true, and despite the hideous clangor in the place from all the screaming moms and kids, we will continue to do so"

  • "Great for families with young kids. It's so loud it takes away from the enjoyment of dining out"

  • "I love that the kitchen is open late. The wine list is extensive and affordable. The food was good but not to die for."

  • "The salad was soaked in dressing and had been sitting for a while. The chicken burger was undercooked. The service was slow. All of this after having to wait 25 minutes after our reservation time for out table to be ready. We won't go back. The restaurant needs better management."

  • "I don't like to give bad reviews. This place has the potential to be so much better. I loved my lukewarm meal - it was a perfect selection. But, the noise level was so loud that it destroyed the ability to dine in peace, and certainly inappropriate to chat with anyone. Great location, nice wine list, excellent service."

  • "Our waitress was awful! Generally ignored us (table of 6) and when begged over to help or take an order, was very short, bitter and had a really bad attitude. We truly seemed to be putting her out asking for our order to be taken. We were celebrating a 70th Birthday and her demeanor really ruined our night. I have been to Landmarc many times but won't go back. The food wasn't even very good- average salmon I could have made at home easily. Really disappointing."

  • "For someone who is bringing my toddler, I enjoy a high end dining restaurant that is kids friendly. But, maybe it is too kids friendly? We arrived at 5:30PM and the restaurant is packed already with family like us who wants to eat early because of the little ones we brought along. There are more than a dozen strollers outside and my husband and I had never seen that many kids in a restaurant!!! Could this be the best kept secret of NYC family alike to bring their kids there? We appreciate the kids menu and kid friendly environment but it may be a bit too much for those without kids. It is noisy but that is why it is kids friendly."

  • "Dinner with my family before a broadway show worked out nicely. Private round room for 7 was perfect for us. Food was very good and right on time. Part of a great night."

  • "I took my friends to celebrate a birthday. I have been on landmarc couple times for brunch . Always recommend, but this dinner was a disaster, the food was not good at all, my steak was so hard, everyone on the table did not finish their meal . I was so embarrassed since the choice of the place was my suggestion . Such a beautiful place, very disappointed ."

  • "If you like a hectic dining room with tons of babies or you have kids or babies, this is the spot. We went to try the recommended frisee and bacon lardon salad. The food was good. The Frisee salad was not the best I've had, but he enjoyed it. The service was adequate. The screaming, shrieking babies and kids made it a challenge to relax. SORE POINT I ordered a Virgin Mary. It was at least half the size of the Bloody Mary the folks at the next table were enjoying.I asked the waiter where the rest of my drink was and he claimed that it was in a much smaller glass because it didn't have the vodka. Since it was a a t least one cup of liquid short, I didn't think this was accurate."

  • "This Landmarc restaurant was fabulous. We did realize that we should dine after 7:30 pm if we want a quieter scene. Earlier it caters to family and the young ones. But as the time moved on, the scene became much quieter. We loved it no matter. AND it will become OUR restaurant."

  • "We were able to forgive the crowded and noisy atmosphere, but the food was a real disappointment. Although we chose the 'special of the day' and one of the 'house specialties', they were not as described...artificially smoked fatty ham is NOT bacon and spaghetti Bolognese is made with minced or chopped meat, NOT shredded. The shredded beef stuck together and gave no indication that it had been the sauce for more than 3 minutes. Both our dishes arrived at less than room temperature, an indication that they had been waiting way too long to be served. How sad that a restaurant in such a busy building has chosen to take short cuts."

  • "I took a group of 12 to Landmarc for my birthday, and we had a wonderful experience. The food was amazing, and the service was excellent."

  • "High energy room but not obnoxiously loud. Accommodating bar service. Warm goat cheese profiteroles sounded great and tasted better - would go back just for those. Landmarc burger with gruyere bun, gruyere cheese, and fries were all very nicely done and would merit a return trip as well. Mussels were perfectly cooked, broth a little under seasoned."

  • "Noisy, boisterous American in the Time Warner Building. Large, attractive space with windows overlooking Columbus Circle. Food is good though not outstanding. Good for a quick bite before a concert. Family friendly. Noise levels can be very high, and conversations difficult."

  • "We were there for breakfast, so take the food comments with a grain of salt. Only so many ways to make an omelet...and theirs was decent. The server unfortunately disappeared often. The first order came out wrong (didn't appear to be a kitchen error). When the food runner brought the food out the first time he didn't stop and ask if we needed anything (I like hot sauce). The prices were a bit on the high side so I would expect a very professional service...we did not get one. Obviously that could have been just a one-time deal; maybe the waitress had a bad day, maybe she had a ton of side-work and took our table off, etc. Unfortunate, because I don't think we'll be coming back."

  • "I have been here many times and always enjoyed but this time things were a little off..I ordered the Lamb chops medium it came mostly raw, 3 chops for 34 dollars is one thing they were also relatively small."

  • "Celebrated a two-year anniversary at Landmarc Time Warner and it could not have been better. It was a packed house, so the server was a little busy - but still attentive and helpful. Both of us had the chicken/red quinoa and we shared the ricotta fritters - good choices all around."

  • "I love this place not only for the location (but do go later if you want to avoid a roomful of children and strollers). We go after Jazz at Lincoln Center so it's late enough to have mostly adults there. The three food reasons we go: Bone marrow, boudin noir and sweetbreads. And great view if you can get it."

  • "We love to eat at Landmarc before Jazz at Lincoln Center. The food is good, it's very convenient, and the feeling is festive. It's also a good spot for lunch. Although they're always busy, the service is excellent and the menu has lots of variety. You can have a "fancy" meal, or just a dinner salad. Either way, the food will be good."

  • "We were excited to eat at Landmarc as we had heard good things about it and like Ditch Plains. Unfortunately, the good was super mediocre, the service was slow, the wait staff wasn't very knowledgable and everything was way overpriced for what it was. The bucatini had no spice at all (just an overload of bacon), the pork chop was leather from being over cooked, the dessert sampler was meh and the waitress didn't know the drink menu at all. The one high note is I had a good martini and a good bottle of wine, but that should really be a given. Definitely not worth the money - choose one of the hundreds of other really exceptional places if you're looking for great food in New York."

  • "Landmarc is a great place to dine, to drink, to spend a good time, from early morning to very late at night. All in a very nice corner. The south west of Central Park. And the top is the value offered. Best place to be in the area."

  • "We needed a moderately priced restaurant for an early pre-theater dinner in the Columbus Circle neighborhood and were very pleased with the food, service and prices at Landmarc. While it is often overrun with small children as a kid-friendly destination, the restaurant is large enough so that it was not a problem for us, two older women who love children but also enjoy a quiet meal in a grownup dining room."

  • "We had asked for a window table and we got it-the view was great looking at Columbus circle and part of Central Park. The place is big and noisy and there were many families with young children. The service was slow but they brought us an extra entree dish for having waited. Our hamburgers were not over the top but all in all it is a friendly, trendy energetic place and we liked it. Good for lunch or breakfast."

  • "Excellent brunch/lunch menu (the eggs en meurette, the pain perdue!), and the candy cotton for the children -- wonderful. But it's getting very noisy when crowded, a level such that it's very difficult to hear your table partners speaking."
    Dined on 3/8/2014
  • "What can you say really? The food, although tasty in general, is overpriced for what it is. I've dined here many times over the years especially when they practically gave away their wine selections at amazing prices. That's no longer the case. On our visit we waited 20 minutes without apology for an 8.15 pm reservation. The waiter provided lackluster service. Food arrived not hot but room temperature. The waiter never came back to ask how everything was. He couldn't have cared less. So instead of my usual 20% tip he got 12% which was probably more than he deserved. Oh well. Probably won't be rushing back. I'd rather spend twice as much for a truly memorable meal (such as the tasting menu at Nougatine/Jean Georges) than on this."

  • "Landmarc is a reliable place that's especially convenient if you're going to an event at Jazz at Lincoln Center, which is in the same building. It's hard to find decent food at good value in the neighborhood and we appreciate Landmarc for this reason. What we're not crazy about is the high noise level -- impossible to have a conversation with your dinner mate. And, as vegetarians, our options there are pretty much limited to salads -- and they have good ones, but that's just not the most appealing dish in the middle of this freezing winter. Meat-eaters would have more enthusiastic things to say about the food, I'm sure. Our waiter was friendly and helpful; the host was super snooty."

  • "I looked for a special place to take my family after a Broadway show to celebrate my daughter's 8th birthday. The Landmarc at the Time Warner Center was a great mix of an upscale restaurant but relaxed enough to make kids feel comfortable also. The kids menu seemed like they asked my daughter what are your fave things to eat and then put it on the menu. Peanut butter and Nutella sandwiches. The waitress was super friendly and attentive to the adults but also made my daughter feel important also. Thanks for making our daughter's birthday one of the most memorable. You made me look like the greatest mom ever. Thank you."

  • "It's loud but so perfect if you have kids and babies with you but you want to have a nice meal at a nice restaurant. Love their mussels and burger. You can skip the pasta although it always sounds good. Great list of half bottle wines. Reservation is highly recommended. Great service and nice view."
