  • "Landfall is a gem. We shall return! Only blip is that parking in Woods Hole is always a challenge ... Particularly when the restaurant's lot is full."

  • "This restaurant has a beautiful waterfront location. The food however is only fair and the business would greatly benefit from an improved menu and perhaps a refreshed chef. There has to be excellent fresh seafood available and lots of local farm fresh food also. It is not evident in the quality of foods served here though. A great shame for a wonderful spot."

  • "Landfall is a great place, but we were a bit disappointed this visit. Even though we had reservations several days in advance, and even though we had requested a table outside or at a window with a view, we did not get it. We were buried near the back where we could hardly see anything but other diners. When we were served our food and drinks it all came out so fast that we were unable to have the leisurely meal we had planned. We don't often get an evening out without the kids and were looking forward to it, but we found ourselves paying the bill just a little over an hour after we arrived. I think if I am paying $30 an entree I should be able to relax and not feel that the wait staff is trying to turn the table quickly to make more $."

  • "I took two teens and an adult who are from a land-locked state to dinner. Service was helpful, as always, the food quite solid. They had lobster which they loved; it was well cracked so easily eaten but still "authentic" looking. The swordfish is simply outstanding. We had a terrific table. Thanks for making me look good!"

  • "One of our long term favorites for seafood on the water front of Woods Hole next to the famous oceanographic institution and Martha's Vinyard ferry. Plenty to see as the sun set in the west illuminates this New England scene...best for dinner but come early in the summer as it is popular with both locals and tourists."

  • "We were visiting family at the Cape and were so pleased to find this restaurant! The view was lovely and the food was fresh and very well prepared. We especially enjoyed the Clam Chowder - a real treat! Thank you!"

  • "We have been coming to Landfall for lunch for many years. Never disappoints!"

  • "You can't beat the view, but in addition you have excellent food and what appeared to us, the best managed dining room within 100 miles. Plenty of wait staff, attentive, attractive and competent. Kudos to whoever is running the place. Well done. Keep it up."

  • "We were looking for a delicious seafood dinner with a view. The restaurant website indicates that there are several public parking lots and street spots adjacent to the restaurant, but none of those were obvious to us. We parked in a lot, but weren't quite convinced that we wouldn't be ticketed or towed. 7:00 reservation time and were seated promptly near the French doors, overlooking the water and dock. The food was just ok. The Portuguese garlic toast was dripping with butter and soggy, the scrod was fresh but bland, the chowder was fine. The open door near us was blowing in a strong ocean wind and the cigarrette smoke from people sitting on the dock. Our waitress was ok, not friendly and forgot my glass of wine but it was very busy."

  • "Limited menu. Would like to see more variety and specials. Food and service is always good."

  • "My swordfish was somewhat overcooked and bland. The baked potato was more steamed than baked, skin soggy. The salad was limp."

  • "If you are looking for great food and the atmosphere to go along with it then Lanfall is it. Right on the water next to where the Ferry leaves from. Very New England menu with the seafood that you would expect. Baked stuffed lobster is pricey for the size, but it was delicious. Have been going here for years and still great. Definitely will have a memorable experience."

  • "While the Landfall menu isn't exactly imaginative, they consistently deliver great, fresh, old fashion new england seafood specialties (e.g., lobstah, fried clams, fisherman platters) amidst old nautical stuff with a terrific view of Woods Hole water activities. It is a bustling place and typically a bit loud. Good service and offers outdoor seating land-side. Free parking (mostly) with validation. The Landfall Restaurant has been a Woods Hole institution since 1946 -- Pricey but well worth the experience at least once."

  • "Nice but a little pricey. Most dinners $31+ bit can get some lighter fare fish and chips lobster roll clam roll for $20."

  • "Stumbled onto this place through opentable. Had a great Lobster Savannah and bottle of wine then enjoyed hanging out by the fire pit. Will come back if we ever return to the Cape. Lots of locals at the bar."

  • "I keep going back to this waterfront restaurant in Woods Hole. People who make reservations have seating priority and this night we were at a window where we could see the boats. My out of town friends were quite impressed. The food was fresh and tasty. Mostly fish on the menu but chicken and steak choices also looked inviting. We never felt rushed and had a three hour dining experience. Oh, and parking is right around the corner at a lot. Of the many restaurants available in the area this remains my first choice whether for a casual lunch or dinner with friends."

  • "Birthday lunch at Landfall is becoming an annual tradition - to bad my wife has hers in December when they are closed. Food was great, service was great, and the view is our beloved seascape where the Vineyard Sound meets Buzzards Bay. You can watch the ferries coming and going, and a cormorant gave a diving exhibition right under our window. Life is good, even taking the "year older" factor into account!"

  • "We had a very pleasant evening. First time I have used OpenTable and was nervous, but we got there, reservation was there and my request for a window seat was granted. Could not have asked for more. "

  • "Stopped in for quick lunch while biking down to Wood's Hole. Didn't order the lobster bisque as I was given a head's up that it was chunky like chowder, not a real bisque at all. Ordered clam chowder which was just okay. It was the consistency of bisque (go figure) and tasted a lot like milk or cream thickened with cornstarch - Not a lot of flavor, not a lot of chunky stuff. It's on the water but there is no outside seating on the water, unless you take a drink outside and sit on the pier (literally as there are no chairs.) But the place has large windows that overlook the marina. (Unfortunately, when they are open, the stench of diesel can over-power tho.) Service okay. Food came quickly. The check took a lot longer."

  • "Landfall was a convenient meeting place between our group from Martha's Vineyard and friends from the mainland. Having eaten here before, we expected it to be reliable, with good seafood and excellent waterfront ambience. We met for Sunday lunch on a holiday weekend and were pleased that they were also offering a brunch menu. Two of us ate seafood (lobster and fried clams) and their meals were excellent. The others, who ordered different forms of quiche off the brunch menu, were disappointed: smallish servings of very ordinary food that did not justify the price. On the other hand, having eaten lunch here on other occasions, we know that their regular lunch sandwiches are good and reasonably priced. Next time - skip the brunch menu."

  • "Went for Mother's day lunch. Took us right on time for our reservations even with large crowds. Staff was attentive and fast on table turnover though we never felt rushed. The food and wine was very good. All in all a great lunch."

  • "We look forward to Landfall opening every spring. We were not disappointed. The freshest of seafood, salad included in price of the dinner, well mixed drinks. This is a New England classic- if you are looking for some new cuisine place, this is not it. But give the broiled swordfish with Cajun spice coat, add a little house made tater sauce, yum. "

  • "We have gone to Landfall off and on for 20 years and seldom had good food, but this time was the pits! Almost inedible and not cheap! The location is fabulous and the bar scene is lively, so just stop by for a drink and then find another restaurant."

  • "My girlfriends and I went to Landfall for lunch and we lucky enough to have a seat by the window! From the Bloody Mary's and Cosmo's, to the Lobster Rolls, everything was fabulous! The waitress was very attentive and went out of her to be sure that we had a fresh pot of coffee! I love Landfall and will certainly be returning soon."

  • "USA and Australian cousins met for dinner. All of us have been there many times before. Brings back memories as all our parents have also been there. Overall it is a great Restaurant in wonderful Woods Hole. On the water, views of ferries coming in. Parking limited but adequate."

  • "Booked the reservation for four at the beginning of April with only one request, window seating. Well we arrived on time, there was an empty table at the window, but that was 'reserved', as it turned out for TWO. Not long after we were seated by the noisy and busy SERVICE STATION a window cleared by the window, but that was 'reserved' again for two. Food was adequate, but not memorable. Service was good. The reservation was a HUGE disappointment. We could have had a wonderful meal at Coonamessett with Paula Rose. Holiday dining is difficult. So much for booking through your Open Table. "

  • "We like this restaurant, although it is a little overpriced. Oysters delicious, the lobster was tasty, but a little dry. Ocean view, great bar. Recommend."

  • "Very aesthetic - right on ocean. Inside aesthetic, except dilapidated screen on floor. Good waitress. Reasonable time waiting for food. Our evaluation goes down hill. We ordered seafood platter. Was the most pathetic amount of seafood we have ever seen. Two shrimp, two scallops, about 1 oz. of fish, tossed salad & white bread with butter. Price - $31. Needless to say, we felt it was highway robbery. Couldn't imagine charging that amount of money for that little amount of food. I ordered a veggie/berry/feta cheese/pecan salad (forgot the name). Very good salad but cost us $15. We felt this food (which was well prepared) was way over priced. We would not go again, nor recommend Landfall to anyone else."

  • "It was my first time there and I wanted a special evening with my girlfriend. We had a great table with the view of the water and boats going in and out. The food was really good and it feels very good to see that a restaurant knows what kind of wine should be served with Lobster. Amazing restaurant and would definitely go back again"

  • "I love how The Landfall welcomes locals with the Two for One coupon in the Falmouth Enterprise during the off season. Thank you! The Landfall is a well established Classic Waterfront dine-in Restaurant which has been a favorite for many years, which is located next to the Steamship Authority in Woods Hole,. The menu is predictable and always good. The rustic ambiance, pleasant waitstaff, and magnificent waterfront views during sunset are the Landfall's greatest assets."
