Good solid menu, great tasting food, reliable presentation. Average-sized portions. Service is superb, waitstaff knowledgable, courteous and prompt. Salmon was not overcooked, but slightly translucent in center. Roast beef was delicious. Wine list was complete. The Chardonnay very drinkable.

If you enjoy prime rib, Lancelot remains a top choice. Service was efficient and friendly. Food was very tasty. One person in our party had shrimp linguini which she reported was excellent. Another liked the trout and we enjoyed the prime rib and baked potato.

We have enjoyed this restaurant for over 30 years when visiting Vail - it's sort of a family tradition. It has never disappointed. However, it was obvious that the crowd of July 4 weekend was a bit too much for the kitchen, the busiest weekend of the year in Vail as we have been told. The meal was still good but not up to what we have come to expect. I suspect this may be true of any good, popular restaurant.

Not only is the prime rib at Lancelot the best, it has consistently been so for the last 12 years we have been eating there. The prime rib almost melts in your mouth. The king crab legs and mussels were top notch as well. As always the service was excellent; both attentive and friendly.

My husband and I took my parents and grandchild for dinner. Coconut shrimp was really good and they had 3 dipping sauces that were really good too. We had prime rib and garlic mashed potatoes, excellent. My husband had chicken, also good. My granddaughter had spaghetti with a really good marinara sauce that she loved. I tasted it too and was good. One of our waitresses said it was her first day but you would never know she was helpful and very nice.

Lancelot is one of Vail's original restaurants. In this age of ever-failing food emporiums, it's easy to see why this mainstay lives on. The menu, atmosphere and service is simply excellent. From the escargot to the arugula salad and through the entrees and creative dessert, every course was an adventure to the palate. Our waiter, while hampered with a very large and demanding party behind us, was attentive, personable, humorous and extremely helpful in guiding us through our selections. Since it was a beautiful evening, we chose to dine on the outside patio overlooking Gore Creek. It was a memorable evening.

Whenever we are in Vail, we eat at Lancelot's. Without a doubt, they serve the best prime rib in the state. We cannot eat prime rib anywhere else because nothing compares to the flavor, the minimum amount of fat and the generous portions. Great service, great wine and reasonable prices are a bonus. Their apple strudel is tops and the comp it for special occasions. We highly recommend it to everyone we meet in town!

Classic Vail steak restaurant that has undergone an fabulous remodel. Prime rib is a house specialty and does not disappoint. Service is spot on with knowledgeable, friendly staff. Window seats offer incredible views of Gore Creek and booths offer quiet, romantic seating. Make sure to leave room for the chocolate mousse and apple strudel with ice cream! One of the best values in Vail.

Well, I hate to give restaurants such poor ratings but these guys could so easily have made a nice experience out of it. The staff was nervous and made us nervous. While this restaurant had an outstanding wine list their cooking did not match and for the price - which included service btw, it was not worth it. I do not recommend this restaurant, esp after a day of skiing when you hope for a peaceful delicious meal.

I have been going to Lancelot for probably 20 years now and it never fails to please. Their prime rib is always top notch. We also really enjoyed the clam chowder and spinach salad. The dinner rolls are excellent and always come out hot. The service is always excellent from the front of house to the waiters. The restaurant was renovated recently and it is impressive to see that it makes an effort to stay modern. Lancelot is always my first choice in Vail.

Three of us went to Lancelot while visiting Vail on a ski trip. The room is great, surrounded by windows. Our waiter was superb, as was all the service. I had lobster bisque, followed by trout almondine. The bisque was very good, while the trout with wild rice was excellent. My friends had the house specialty, roast beef, and both thought it very well prepared. The dessert was an apple strudel, which my German heritage friend said was nearly as good as his mother made - very high praise! I'd be delighted to have another meal at Lancelot if I came through Vail again.

Visited 6 Open Table restuarants in Vail and this one was a total disappointment. Went on Valentines Day with wife and was offered a 'cosey' spot. Turned out to be in a corner of what appeared to be a private dining area. One table of 6 had 4 very noisey kids. Wine list was sub par and over priced. Felt like waiter wanted to 'turn the table over' as we rushed through a meal for 2 of over $200. Never again at this spot. All other Vail restuarants we visited were 5*
