If you've been to Lana'i you know there aren't a lot of choices for dining out and if you're staying at either of the two Four Seasons on island it's nice to get off property and mix up the food options. We always eat here when we visit Lana'i and it is a great restaurant - had the filet and slow cooked ribs - beautifully prepared and so good. The restaurant/hotel was recently purchased by Larry Ellison - who owns almost everything else on the island - so hopefully he will maintain its individual character and commitment to great food.

Our Party of 6 arrived early and was happily accommodated. Food was outstanding, beautifully presented and delicious. Noise was horrible. Even though we were seated at the beginning of the evening, there were 3 loud and obnoxious people seated at the bar 3 tables away who were so loud we could not hear our server or each other.

The Lanai City Grille was the best dining experience my husband and I have had since we have been traveling and visiting the different Hawaiian islands. The menu was extensive in its variety and the staff was very knowledgeable regarding the menu and suggesting wines to go with various dishes. I had the crab cakes as an appetizer, pork chops and truffles mac & cheese for my main course. My husband had the roasted chicken and we finished off our meal with the fresh baked chocolate chip cookie.I had read other reviews prior to dining at the Lanai City Grille and some said that it was pricey, it was worth every penny and if I have the pleasure of returning to Lanai for vacation, this restaurant will definitely be on my to do list!

Each time we go over to Lana'i [twice this year] we make sure we have dinner at least once at Lanai City Grille. This time we went back twice, the menu features fresh local produce including sashimi that is the freshest possible, the service is attentive, ambiance is island style and relaxed, it really checks all the boxes for us..

Lanai City Grille is a special and favourite place for us. The food is always fabulous and the wait staff are professional and personal. We have been celebrating my husband's last couple of birthdays in Lanai for the last couple of years and will no doubt be back again next year. I had mentioned it was my husband's birthday and wouldn't you know when they brought desert later it had 'Happy Birthday" written on the plate with a candle, song and everything. Nothing is too much.

Our waiter Joel was welcoming and accommodating. He was a good guide through the menu, which offered many tempting choices. Having tasted a dining companion's moist and flavorful rotisserie chicken, I understand why that choice sells out quickly. The sides that accompany the main course were creative and tasty. The risotto with my venison was perfectly al dente. We shared a generous and pretty slice of intensely chocolatey cake with a shiny chocolate glaze. The light peanut buttery filling complemented the dark chocolate very nicely.

The Lanai City Grille is a great choice for "off-resort" dining in Lanai City. What a charming place, it feels upscale, but not stuffy. I had the pecan-crusted mahi mahi, fantastic. I also tried Arrowwood Chardonnay, and it was wonderful. We will be back for sure.

Such a lovely quaint place and we felt welcome. One of us needed a gluten free meal and chef Ella came out of the kitchen and spoke to me about suggestions. I wanted fish and she made a delicious ahi dish with a lovely sauce, mushroom fried rice and grilled broccoli. We were impressed with the dish the service and the quaintness of the restaurant. My husband had the marinated pork dish. Very tender and flavorful. Thanks for a delicious and memorable night in lanai city! Only wish they had the fireplace going especially since it was a cold and very rainy night! Maybe they weren't functional since it was an old building!

While on Lana'i for a 4 day weekend to celebrate my husband's birthday we stayed at the Hotel Lana'i (wonderfully quaint!) and ate here 2 nights. It was fantastic! We had the diver scallops, miso sea bass, venison, and meatloaf during the course of 2 meals. All were delicious and generous portions. We enjoyed the restaurant so much more than the big resort options on the island.

Friendly unobtrusive service with great local fare located in a charming old building in the center of town. The choices on Lanai are pretty limited for non resort style dining and the LCG is homey and friendly and the food is delicious. We were on Lanai staying nearby at the Lodge and of the four dinners on the island we ate there twice. All day in the resorts and evenings coming back 'home' to this small wonderful dinner. And go to the Blue Ginger Cafe for breakfast or lunch and get a fabulous meal too in lanai City. All on the Four Seasons shuttle routes!

We arrived in Lana'i on Christmas afternoon after flight from SF and ferry ride from Maui. We had a dinner reservation for 7, but decided to move it up to 5:30 since we were tired. The restaurant was very gracious with our time change, and sat us by the warm fireplace. We were not disappointed by the food and hospitality. I had the venison on risotto which was out of this world. My family had the Christmas special which was the prime rib, and the meatloaf, which were also very tasty. The banana lumpia dessert was delicious. The waitress was very sweet, and the servers were very professional. We felt very welcomed on our first day in Lana'i!

Everyone has steamed clams on the menu, and most are pretty good, so you're looking for above average, above normal. These were very good. Might be a testimony to the quality of the sake, I don't know, but some sake based steamers get bitter, and these were decidedly not. I had the venison, and the risotto was excellent, and (being a reduction nut) found that to be excellent, while others have been too salty. Net/net, the Lanai City Grille is a WONDERFUL place to have dinner, and from the looks of it, a great place to spend some quality time at the bar.
