A word from L'Amore
L'Amore Restaurant is a family owned and operated neighborhood Italian restaurant located in the heart of Phoenix. We offer fine dining with a family atmosphere. We personally operate the restaurant being there to meet and greet each guest as if they were entering our own home. Here's a secret - we are told we have the best Cioppino in town.

Enjoy the formal dining room, the friendly bar with great, live, soft music from our musician Jimmy who plays on Thursday - Saturday night, or sit in our beautiful tree-lined patio over-looking the Phoenix Mountain Preserves. We're happy to serve your every need. If you're on your way home, call us for a take-out dinner, or if you're thinking of a holiday party, set up an appointment to speak to us about our catering.

Greg is the owner and he made our party of 6 very welcomed. He pulled up a chair and talked us through the menu and specials. We had two special requests which he gladly accommodated. My lasagna was excellent. If I lived in Phoenix, this would be a regular place for me.

Always on our list for fav places as the food is consistently good, owners make one feel most welcome and the ambiance is lovely. However, I do not appreciate being called "sweetie" by one of the waiters (I am 70 years old) and some jokes told by another are a bit inappropriate in this environment!

We celebrated my birthday at L'Amore last night and loved it. The atmosphere was great, food was excellent and they have a nice wine list. The server was very attentive and the owner circulated to talk to the customers. I loved the pasta with white clam sauce and our tabled all ordered different dishes from past specials to fillet mignon....everyone was very happy. We will definitely go back and also try the weekday Happy Hour.

L'Amore is simply the only place to get REAL Italian food in a REAL Italian restaurant. The Cioppino is unparalleled. The Caesar dressing is perfect. The service puts it all over the top. This is the kind of restaurant where they treat you like a celebrity, no matter who you are. Each diner is coddled by all of the staff, and the host makes you feel like you're a "regular". This is the way a MEAL is supposed to be served in a restaurant. There is no reason to look for Italian food anywhere else in Arizona. Yes, the entire state. There, I said it.

The only problem was that the waiter seemed to have more work than he could handle. My cocktail did not come as ordered. It took 2 reminders to get it straightened out. It appeared to be only the individual involved, as other seemed t be getting good service.

The owner, Greg, made you feel you were dining in his home. Walked to tables and always with a smile. It was obvious this was his passion and it came through in the food. And, as we found, a favorite restaurant for locals - he addressed them by name. The only reason we give a 4 for service is we had to ask the waitress a couple of times to tell us about the specials of the day. Other than that the good was delicious, music great, ambiance perfect! We look forward to going back with our group of friends.

We were greeted by the owner at the door and seated by him. Great food and very friendly atmosphere. At first we were a little nervous because it is in a strip center - although a very nice and well located one. The chicken marsala was among the best I have ever had and I am from chicago which has great Italian restaurants. Can't wait to go back!!! Don't miss this gem!

We arrived early thinking we would sit at the bar. It was packed, every seat! Who knew this was such a gathering place, obviously a favorite to many. Friendly people all around. We sat at a table in the bar served by Victor. This guy knows his stuff. He was funny, knew how far he could be funny and described the delicious food perfectly. One chosen wine was sour and he immediately poured another. The food...ciapinno fabulous, fresh halibut tender and meaty, crisp salads. We will go again.

We were here in March and sat on the patio, which was absolutely lovely. In contrast we observed the indoor seating was noisy, dark and kind of stuffy (not enough fresh air flow). Service was outstanding with friendly likable staff who made the deliberate effort to connect with us. Entres were delicious (halibut, spaghetti bolognaise) or very good (lasagne) but one was so-so (veal picata - the veal was not tender).

This is the second time I have enjoyed dinner at this exceptional restaurant. Last year when I came to Phoenix for Spring Training I brought some friends and family here and had a wonderful evening. This year we had a smaller group and once again the owner Greg met us at the door and ensured we had a nice table. Everyone enjoyed their dinners which featured several seafood dishes that were fresh and filled with flavor. A wonderful dessert accompanied by a perfect espresso added the finishing touch. I didn't get to say goodbye before we left but you can count on seeing us next year Greg.

We had a great dining experience at L'Amour. The staff was extremely courteous and attentive. The special of the day, ravioli with Italian sausage was delicious. The pasta was made in house and very light and flavorful. Maybe just a little too much sauce, but very good. Three of our party are very carb conscious and they were very kind about substituting the pasta for steamed spinach. The Sea Bass and crab special was perfectly cooked, moist and light. Quiet neighborhood restaurant that is perfect for a delicious dinner out with great service and reasonable prices.

We were in town and wanted to get away from the resort-type restaurant. This was a great place! There were 8 in our group & we had no problem making a reservation. We were promptly seated and service was wonderful. One of our party had an unusual allergy to a food group so they offered to make a special dish not on the menu to accommodate her. The shopping center is undergoing a face-lift so the lack of signs made the restaurant a bit hard to find but I'm so glad we did! I will definitely return the next time I'm in the area.

The service was very good, but the food was outstanding. The mussels appetizer was as good as it gets. They were decent sized and incredibly fresh, and the sauce was terrific. The cioppino was filled with fresh savory seafood and we were offered the opportunity to "spice it up". Fra Diavolo at it's finest! We've driven by the restaurant for years, but only tried it the first time around the Christmas holidays. It was a bit swamped that time, but our second visit this past weekend was much more reasonable. Filled, but not overflowing. Great Italian restaurant! We'll definitely add it to our list of favorites.

I've been to L'Amore a few times and most recently was my Valentines date with my boyfriend. The service was very good expect a table wasn't ready immediately when we arrived despite the fact that we had a reservation. We didn't have to wait for long and just had a drink at the bar. A few different tables cleared out at the same time but a different couple that walked in got first pick on the tables even though we had been waiting. This was a little disappointing. We ended up with a table right next to the musician who has been playing there a few nights a week for fourteen years. Even though we were right next to him, it wasn't too loud and very pleasant. He took requests and it was a fun time.
