We have enjoyed dining at Laloux for many years now, the first occasions when we lived in Montreal and mostly in the evening for diner, but now since we have moved out of province, we have discovered Laloux's wonderful lunchs, during our semi annual visit to Montreal. The wine pairings for lunch are a great idea and also well thought out. We have never been disappointed with Laloux.

I booked dinner for my parents as part of a birthday weekend in Montreal--dinner was to be the highlight. They were soo impressed with the service and food that they called me a few times during their meal to let me know how great it was! Thank you to everyone at Laloux for providing such a memorable evening/celebration for them.

My husband and I decided to come to Laloux for our 1 year anniversary after hearing many wonderful things about the food. The reviews were spot on. The food was just amazing. The smoked salmon with poached peaches was one of the best things we have ever had. The prime rib to share was incredibly tasty and juicy. Our waiter was very smiley and kind. I had a fantastic evening.

Travelled to Montreal for the weekend and wanted to have a nice dinner. I booked the restaraunt unsing Opn Table it narrowed down the closest restaurants fitting my preference. The restaurant was easy to find and upon walking in my friend and I were greeted straight away. It was busy even though we booked our table for 9:15pm. The servers spoke English which helped and were extremely attentive. The good was fantastic an all levels, presentation, speed and taste. We had a cocktail and 3 course meal each and each dinner came to around $80 with tip. I would highly recommend this restarunt to foodies! I had steak tartar, veal sweetbreads, and profiteroles with caramel and vanilla bean ice cream.

This restaurant reminded me a lot of restaurants I have frequented in Europe. It is fairly small, has slower service, good food, many courses. It is a really great experience if you have time for it. The food was really good-like I mentioned we had a lot of different things-but my entree was a cut of beef with roasted fingerling potatoes and a great sauce. There were a lot of mixed flavors that were untraditional. A good find, and I would definitely recommend it.

On a sunny summer night, this is a lovely, simple place. Plus there is fine, modestly-inventive food. A starter of a house-made charcuterie platter was super - from a coarse pate to a head-cheese (don't be put off by the name) to house-made pickled vegetables, this was really good. That was followed by pork and clams, a traditional Portugese combo. The pork chunks were tender and well-marinated. The clams, unfortunately, were too small - this dish needs large clams to give the contrast with the pork. I left the choice of wines by the glass to our waiter and his two choices were "spot on". I'd go back to this one in a second, especially since they also got my gin martini just right - not always easy in French restaurants outside the U.S.

The best French restaurant in Montreal. The food, service and ambiance were all excellent. The real treat is the originality of the recipes. Not only is the food cooking top notch, but the wonderful, varied flavors of each dish transports one to heaven. The chef himself forages in the wild for a lot of the menu’s various seasonings, herbs and ingredients. It really pays off with incredible results.

For the last few years every time we visit Montreal we make sure to have dinner at Laloux. The service is outstanding with a focus on every little detail, including checking how long it would take for us to walk to our venue after dinner. The sommelier took a special interest in finding us the perfect wine for dinner. And when we asked for his advice on an upcoming meal we are making at home he brought over and opened a bottle of Riesling just for us to taste. The food was out of this world. Each plate had interesting components, including little delectables that the chef had foraged. The lobster and Foi Gras appetizers were delicious and plentiful. Veal sweetbreads were perfect. We may just move to Montreal so we can dine here every night!

I travel to Paris quite a few times a year. Laloux reminds me of an upscale restaurant you find in Paris. We enjoyed the main course and deserts the most. The quanitity is enough for even a young adult. The flavors are original. Very much like Bistro food with more flavor and imagination.

We were a group of 6 and we all very much enjoyed our time. The food was overall excellent, with the exception of the Magret de Canard that my wife and I both ordered. The flavours were excellent but we both thought that the Magret was a little tough. That being said, the appetizers were fantastic, and the dessert was great.

Absolutely delicious in EVERY way. We were graciously welcomed for a 6:30 seating and had the delightful benefit of conversation with our server and sommelier before many other guests arrived. From the refreshing oyster amuse bouche through black cod, quail and venison courses, the meal was a true crescendo of complexity and intensity. The cannoli with black sesame mousse topped off the extraordinary dining experience. I highly recommend the set menu, created and delivered with flair.

Laloux has always been my favourite. I try to go there at least twice a year and have never ever been deceived. Food is great, one really feels there's a lot of hard work and professionalism in the kitchen. Service is top notch, very attentionate, professional, still friendly. Each and every time is a new experience. I've tried the cote de boeuf for two this time, and honestly, i've never eaten such delicious meat even at La Queue de Cheval. An absolute must!
