They also have a good wine list, interesting house cocktails, and even a respectable selection of craft beer. The last time I went my fiance's steak came out underdone, but they were very quickly to remedy the situation and she loved it once they brought it back. Service is friendly, but can be a little slow at times. But they are amazingly quick at refilling your water and bread plate. My only real complaint is about the dining room's decor—plastic tables and chairs? Food was great. My wife would've liked the Pied de Cochon prepared as she had had it in Europe, but was satisfied nonetheless (the menu did indicate preparation). Slightly disappointed I was unable to select cheeses from their board, but it was understandable this was for evenings. Still, the selection I was served hit the spot. Our guest was quite pleased with her chicken breast, as it was grilled, and she was hoping for as much. The chocolate Napoleon was quite unique and delicious. My only complaint was the pulled pork appetizer is more of a pâté with very little flavor. The presentation of that and every dish was beautiful.
Ambience has a little to be desired. Sun was shining straight into my eyes and I would had preferred a darker, more romantic ambiance. However when we arrived they seated us in a private room that was also their wine storage. The service we received from Bart and the rest of the team was incredible. The food and beverages the 6 of us ordered were all excellent. And maybe the highlight of the night was the assortment of cheeses that we had as an appetizer. The Maitre'd Fromage gave us a complete explanation of each offering and was extremely knowledgeable. The restaurant sits in the midst Case Western Reserve campus, which allows for long, scenic walks before and after dinner. The restaurant itself is a juxtaposition of modern and classic, with the inside updated atmosphere inside a shell of classic "pub"-type building. The service was immediate and always constant, but never overbearing. There was a balance struck with the high-end environment and menu, and casual dress and manor of the staff. The food itself was absolutely perfect. The appetizers, main course, and dessert were all top notch, leaving you filled, but wanting more at the same time. The maitre'd was very professional and helped us find a nice quiet corner spot. I waited by the bar to order drinks and she was kind enough to chat with me and escort me to our table where my wife was already seated. The ambiance was surprisingly busy for our 9pm reservation but thinned out quickly only to be replenished by whatever function was over at Severance Hall. The smooth white table tops, plastic like chairs and server in designer jeans were odd in an up scale restaurant. The service was prompt, attentive and very jovial.
