Lakeside - Wynn Las VegasOne happy vegetarianI was not optimistic that I was going to be eating much that evening, as I'm a vegetarian who won't eat mushrooms. Every other restaurant's menu had fettucine alfredo (for $26) or mushrooms and that appeared to be the sum total of my choices. However, our wonderful cab driver mentioned that Steve Wynn is vegan, and that all his restaurants have at least a couple of good veg choices, which was confirmed by our concierge. After a quick check of the menus on Open Table, I was thrilled to find a walnut-encrusted Gardein "filet" at the Lakeside and ate one of the best vegan meals of my life that night. The food was excellent, the staff was very nice, and we got to see all four shows on the water. It was pretty great.
Also really loved the tiny cupcake I got at the end, it was so nice of them to throw in a birthday treat. He lives in las Vegas and lakeview Is the restaurant we always return to . I did not like the changes in the menu. The rib eye was smaller than usual. Desserts not so special. I was surprised that it was not as good as the restaurant gas been in the past. Step up your game! We asked for a table on the terrace which overlooks the "Lake of Dreams" which is absolutely beautiful. There is a wonderful "show" of lights to accompany your meal. I made a reservation and when we arrived I requested a table outside by the lake. We waited in the bar for 10 min and were then given an excellent table. Rene was our server and he was honestly the best waiter I've had in YEARS. He was so pleasant to talk with and made EXCELLENT recommendations when asked. We had the chef's special (halibut) and the seared yellow-fin. The quality of the fish was impeccable and it was so very well prepared. Again, I can't complement Rene enough for the quality of service. He was always there when we needed something but never a bother. The displays on the waterfall made dinner that much more special on our first evening in town. As a bonus, Lakeside has a full vegetarian menu which was absolutely delicious. The calamri, scallops, and salmon were delicious. Be careful with the sides, they are delicious, as well, but they are HUGE! And oh those warm pretzel rolls,YUM! We sat just inside off the patio. I had a view of the waterfall, but my husband had his back to it. Most of the time the scene was pretty, then they had a loud "blue man group" thing and a frog singing "Friends in Low Places", it did not scream classy. Would we come here again? Maybe.
