Lake Street Kitchen + Bar serves an eclectic menu that is farm-to-table, seasonal, fresh, and homemade every day of the week offering lunch/brunch, dinner, and late night dining. The menu offerings come from a melting pot of influences--like the diversity of the restaurant's Oak Park community--and range from American comfort food to Mediterranean, Cajun to Italian, Basque to Spanish. The menu changes with the seasons to offer food at its peak flavor.



Chef Jason Kurosaki leads the kitchen. During his impressive culinary career, Chef Jason has worked for three James Beard award-winning chefs and one best restaurateur nominee.



The seasonal food menu is accompanied by a unique line up of beer, wine and cocktails. The beer offerings include local and craft beers on tap and many more in bottles and some cool retro cans. The wine list offers a variety by the glass and bottle and includes wines from several organic and biodynamic vineyards.

  • "The food at Lake Street is amazing! Great flavors and fresh ingredients right down to the coleslaw. The food is expensive (About $30 per person if you don't order a cocktail), but it is very flavorful. At times, service was a little slow, but the server was energetic and accommodating. Lastly, we ordered a meat and cheese board ($29), and were a little disappointed at the amount of each item we chose. The meat and cheeses were quality, and certainly worth the cost, but be prepared for small portions if you order a board. Overall, the restaurant is great. Quite yummy and unique!"

  • "The food was amazing and subtle ways the flavors in some of the dishes work together worth a repeat visit. A warning to date night types looking for a spot to converse though...this place is LOUD on a Friday night when packed. That would maybe keep us from visiting again when it's busy."

  • "Being the silly man that I am, I waited to book a reservation on the day of valentine's day. Not smart. However, I decided to use Opentable to see what was still available. I happened upon lake street bar and grill. My wife and I had eaten here once before on an afternoon when it was slow. It was also during lent and my wife had given up cheese (they have a great charcuterie) so it wasn't the best experience. However, for this valentine's day it was a truly awesome experience. They had our table reserved by name and we were sat immediately. The service was great considering how busy it was. This place is a bar and restaurant and both were hopping on valentine's day. Service was still good. The food tasted great. A+ experience."

  • "I took a couple friends from the city to Lake Street Kitchen + Bar for dinner on an early dinner. They had a good table for 6 of us, but it was under some direct lights that got VERY hot. Several times my co-diners remarked how warm it was. We had some wine flights and beer. The drinks took some time, but the waitress explained them well. We had a selection of flatbreads, lamb sliders, salad, and lentil quinoa cakes. Everyone certainly liked the food, but I felt the quinoa cake was a little overpriced for what you got at $11. Overall, the food was good, and I'd go back, but not race there."

  • "I want to like this place. I have had perfectly fine lunches here and the service is always friendly and prompt. The ambience is just right mix of neighborhood and trendy with a mix of tables, Craft brews, and hip staff, however I have found the dinner entres lack the right flavors to make the food noteworthy. A good place if you want a drink and some flatbread or a cheese plate but not worth going out of your way for dinner."

  • "Our main meat dish was served cold when it should have been hot... If it was cooked before our other dishes at least put it under a heating lamp. Wine/beer selection was nice. Lighting was weird and kept changing throughout the duration of the meal. Server was friendly. Inquired about birthdays as it was a special dinner celebration however there was nothing special done by this venue which was a bit disappointing."
