  • "Food was the best meal I ever have eaten anywhere in the world. It was that good. Service was terrific as well. Nicely done from top to bottom. My daughter & I had mahi mahi dish & oldest daughter the veal osco busco, all were incredible tasting."

  • "One of the best restaurants in Maui! Food was great from start to finish and servers were friendly and helpful. Will go again when we're next visiting the island."

  • "We found this dinner to be the best on the island. The food is very, very good, but the service is excellent making this a find dining experience that is hard to beat. Our server Justin was a pro with just the right amount of kick back attitude and serving competence. He staged our many choices (we like to try as much as possible) into courses, allowing us a leisurely time with every bite, made spot on recommendations, and just was perfectly attentive without being hovering. He could not be better. His assistant Martin was a wonderful support and great personality, definitely belongs in the front of the house. From the beesting and vesper cocktails, to the foie gras, to the fish special, to the short ribs, everything was just great."

  • "Excellent restaurant, but very pricey, in heart of downtown Lahaina a block off the water."

  • "It's always great to dine in a establishment that stands the test of time and continues to innovate its food, service and ambience."

  • "We went for our anniversary and it was one of the most awkward experiences of my life. So much so that we were so embarrassed when we left. They tried to photograph us at our table offering us an email? Before that they sat us beside of the wait station closet. My lamb chops were cooked perfectly(MR) on 2 and the other 2 were well done, so I just focused on the 2 that were cooked properly. At $55 a plate I expect it to be perfect. My wife's food was horrible she had the local fresh fish. Really confused as to why it gets such great reviews, the place is mediocre at best. We will never go back."

  • "A bartender at a Maui hotel had recommended the Lahaina Grill to us as his favorite place to go. We decided to try it for my husband's 74th birthday. We had a great experience there with excellent recommendations for an entree - red snapper and an excellent drink recommendation - a Bee Sting! Our waiter was superb with impeccable service. We had a very nice evening - never feeling rushed to get through courses to turn the table. We would return again!"

  • "Great wine selection. Best service for any restaurant on the island, hands down. Portions are generous. Presentation is beautiful. Food was decedent, luxurious and seasoned perfectly. Worth every penny."

  • "Lahaina Grill is a gem, and has a vibe that echos of a San Francisco dining experience. The food preparation and presentation is notable and service is above par for most of the island."

  • "A bit pricey but absolutely delicious food, wonderful service and charming atmosphere. If in Maui again we will definitely come back."

  • "We go to Hawaii a lot and this is the best restaurant we have eaten at. It's a little on the pricy side, but worth it. Highly recommend going."

  • "Even by local standards this is an expensive restaurant. We went in with eyes open on that score, however, and were rewarded with an incredible dining experience. From the shrimp wonton appetizer, which--via fresh, flavorful and creative ingredients--elevated this common nosh from the ho-hum to the extraordinary, to the tantalizing opakapaka special that caused me to intentionally overeat for the first time in years, the meal was a truly memorable one. The food was matched only by the perfect service provided by our server Mary, who was low-key yet attentive, and whose menu recommendations were spot on. An outstanding meal and unforgettable evening."

  • "Food was fabulous, wine was pricey, we shared a few dishes, appetizer, salad, and main courses."

  • "Lived up to the hype and well worth the $! By far the best in Maui."

  • "Excellent food and service and priced accordingly. Parking is close and reasonably priced for Lahaina. Reservations well in advance are recommended. No ocean view but a walk around the corner after dinner will bring you right to the coastline. The restaurant included a card signed by all their staff wishing us a happy anniversary which was a very nice addition to our celebration."

  • "Beautiful table and setting, vibrant flower paintings on the wall, starch white linen with white butcher paper overlays. Menu has hints of Spanish, Mexican, Italian, Hawaiian inspiration with great options for foodies as well as the more conservative diner who likes steak and potatoes. Ahi and Foie Gras appetizer was one of the best items we had our entire trip and the Opakapaka special was one of the best entrees as well, delicious garlic risotto and bright vegetables. The dessert sampler was excellent, my favorite was the berry pie. Great experience, they have a very relaxed and slow style of service, reservations were at 5:30, and we didn't receive our first course until 6:20 -- great atmosphere."

  • "As always had a great meal, along with great service. It just seems to get pricier all the time."

  • "My husband and I ate at the Lahaina Grill for our last night in Maui! We had heard from so many people that it was worth the price. And I will not lie, it is pricey! Well, it met with our high expectations. Our waiter helped us pick our entire dinner, from first to last course. The food was delicious! Every thing was cooked to perfection. I had a pork chop, my husband had Osso Buco! During our stay on the island, we had dined on every Hawaiian fish that was offered so we were ready for meat!! Both proteins were cooked just the way we like it. We had a chile relleno for our appetizer, that was so delicious!!! Last but not least, we had wonderful wines. This place is a class act all the way around!"

  • "The food and service here are both excellent. Their prices are too high, especially for a restaurant with no ocean view. The night we were there they had a steak special priced at $77. Two martinis cost $30."

  • "We've tried many of the upscale restaurants in Maui, and must say that this was the best tasting food yet. The flavours were amazing and choices great for all people."

  • "Great service, food was mediocre at best. Definitely not worth the money they charge. $24 for a beefsteak tomato and some mozzarella is just ridiculous and it was drowning in balsamic vinaigrette couldn't even taste the quality of the ingredients. $40 for pasta and meatballs in a red sauce. Definitely nothing special. Do yourself a favor and skip this restaurant."

  • "We were seated in a closet like area. The place is noisy, the food is good but expensive."

  • "We were in Maui for our 44th wedding anniversary and based on reviews picked Lahaina Grill as our dinner celebration. From start to finish this was exceptional. We were seated at a window table and waited on by a waitress who knew every intricacy of the menu. The buffalo tomato salad was perfect with a tomato that tasted like tomorrow would have been too late. My entree was a local fish with an out of this world citrus sauce. My wife's Osso Bucco was tasty and tender. Desserts were no less tasty. The exceptional service was matched by food that tasted better each bite. We don't get the chance to go to Maui often but this will be first on our list if we do."

  • "This restaurant does not fit into the Maui scene, it does not have any view and is dark inside. We were seated behind a wall making it darker and one would not know they were near the beach, the food was very overpriced and not good, the salads were $18 and subpar, the ahi tuna was not up to par either. The service was not representative of the prices paid. I would skip Lahaina Grill and go to one of the other great restaurants in Lahaina such as Mala or Honu. This was our least favorite dinner in Maui. I wish I would have read a review like this before making the reservation."

  • "The food is amazing especially wyago beef ravioli! We were at another restaurant at the Ritz and decided to leave because the menu did not look appitizing and the atmoshere was lame. Thank goodness we went to open table!!!!! We thought the atmosphere was vibrant and service was impeccable. We went back a second time while vacationing. You can't go wrong here!"

  • "We finally were able to make a dinner reservation to this popular restaurant in Lahaina, and were excited about our March 24 date. Appetizers, carpaccio for my partner and goat cheese and baby arugula salad for me, were delicious. The goat cheese was rolled in crushed candied pecans and warmed to the point of melting when cut into. For entrees I enjoyed succulent scallops and my partner had the grilled Maui- Maui, which was moist, tender, and tasty. We finished with the sunken chocolate cake, a glass of port , and coffee. I should mention that service was prompt and timely but never rushed. Our server was knowledgeable and we felt comfortable"

  • "For a ground-floor restaurant stuck on a side street, it actually had a pleasant view (if seated at the large windows): beautiful green peaks (and full moon) on one side, ocean and sunset colors on the other. The food was the best we had in Maui; everything we ordered was done to a turn, with rich, creative, interesting flavors (especially the rack of lamb flavored with coffee). The desserts were not exciting, and over-large, but not bad. The number of waitstaff was insufficient, so service tended to be VERY leisurely. After spending some time looking over the tourist traps of Lahaina, this really was a beautiful and cool oasis of culinary excellence in the surrounding cultural desert."

  • "Had an 8:15 reservation on March 11th. I remember the date because it was my wife's birthday. Booked the reservation via the internet (first time) and that went very smoothly. Upon arrival, was disappointed to be sitting in the side room, (off to the left as you come in from the street). This is a decidedly second-class area. My seat faced the back of the restaurant and I faced an open work area where one of the workers wiped and loudly clattered plates for (at least) 30 minutes. Food was very good, and the service was OK, but not very attentive. The restaurant was kind enough to prepare a surprise desert with a candle in it for my wife, and a card, which I appreciated."

  • "By far, this is the best restraurant on Maui. Loved everything about it. We have been here before and it never disappoints. I had mahi mahi and my husband had a filet. Both dishes were delicious. I also had the Toy Box salad and it was fantastic. My husband had the spinach salad and thought it was just delicious. This restraurant is a total MUST and not to be missed. We have been coming to Maui for many years and we always have dinner at Lahaina Grill."

  • "We returned for our honeymmon and wife's birthday (after three years). Wow! Best restaurant in Lahaina for goumet food and wines.! Our waiter Justin, had many people to help but made each of us feel special when explaining menu selections.ustin made sure that we were more than satisfied with food, wine and dining experience. He had a great back up staff to make sure our needs were met. WE recommend catch of the day-so moist and tenderly prepared with interesting sauces and Veal Osso Bucco a truly rare find in Hawaii. A very nice white Orvieto wine was chosen, which complimented the meal. Our table was ready early and the restaurant made contact with us beforehand for reservation needs. A must visit when in Lahaina!"

  • "The quality of the food and its presentation was excellent. Portion sizes are overly generous. Smaller portions and a lower price would enable one to enjoy more than just the entree. The noise level in the restaurant could be toned down with the addition of some sound baffling fixtures."

  • "You might not expect to find a great steak restaurant in Maui but if that is what you want, Lahaina Grill is the place. They have great seafood as well and the location in Lahaina is perfect."

  • "When they served the bread we had ants coming out of the plate. Our waitress was rude as if we were putting her out and we were seated by the entrance with people waiting to be seated. They show high ratings so we ate their thinking it would good not so I would say to high price. Would not go back there."

  • "Great old inn in Lahaina and short cab ride from hotels in Kaanapali. Service is amazing and food was great. I had the local fresh fish and my husband had a steak; can't go wrong with either. Wine list was amazing but never tried any because I couldn't get off the Mai Tai's the entire time I was in Hawaii."

  • "We are not official "foodies" but we eat out and travel a lot. Lahaina Grill was outstanding! The food was amazing and the service was great. We were celebrating our anniversary and they made us feel very special. When we decided to split an entrée, because we know we can't eat that much, it was no problem."
