  • "Our evening with friends was very enjoyable. Everyone had a good meal and enjoyed the evening."

  • "We were just there as a group of 5 ladies to celebrate a birthday. It was our first time there and it didn't disappoint. The food was good (the tomatoes in the panini could be cut smaller) and the drinks were delish. The decor and ambience is really nice. Bringing in a dj is a nice little touch too. It was kind of cold since the air seemed to be coming down just above our heads, but overall a nice place."

  • "We all loved the food at Lago and our server Dan was excellent! Definitely will go back and will send our friends there too!"

  • "The 4 of us had an appetizer, 4 entries with the Gnocchi Lobster (~25) being the most expensive, 2 desserts, and 2 bottles of good dry white wine for $160 before tip. The customers dress varied."

  • "As always, the food and service were excellent! My favorite restaurant!"

  • "Went here with friends and ordered several apps - calamari (not breaded), meatballs and rosemary chips. All were excellent. Dinner had mushroom cavatelli, lobster gnocchi, margheteta pizza & veal chop. None disappointed - all very flavorful and gnocchi had good chunks of lobster. Service was great without being overbearing. Would definitely go again!"

  • "Great new Location. The owners are there and very personable. Food is unique Italian and outstanding. The veal stuffed tortellini's are out of this world good!"

  • "Celebrated a milestone birthday and thoroughly enjoyed the entire meal!"

  • "A wonderful experience. Food was tasty and presented beautifully."

  • "Food and atmosphere was great. Handing the ladies a rose on the way in was also a nice touch. No complaints really other than the waiter. A very attentive young man, but he checked on the table several times. To me, a server that pops in that many times becomes a nuisance. Otherwise great."

  • "When we arrived for what was a special occasion on a weekend night, we were seated in the back at a tiny table jammed along the wall, way too close to the other tables and looking at the kitchen. After ordering cocktails, our server informed us that the restaurant did not carry either brand of alcohol we ordered, despite the fact that both brands are popular and commonly available. We then ordered the scallops appetizer, which was delicious, and the fried risotto mozzarella, which was disappointing. I then ordered the lobster gnocchi, a featured menu item. After a few minutes, I was told the kitchen could not make the gnocchi because it was out of all the ingredients except for cream. The lasagna I had instead was leaden. Can't recommend."

  • "Have dined at Lago several times - lunch and dinner - and always had a good experience. Varied menu with moderate pricing, good service."

  • "I've been to this restaurant several times. Around opening, restaurant was overly crowded and noisy but food was good. Latest outing, I think we were the only party in the room. The dining area was freezing cold and thus food wound up being cold. It was a business dinner so no time to send it back. When we got there (weeknight) I noticed there were no other patrons in the room, never a good sign!"

  • "Lago was an amazing experience. The food, service and atmosphere were top notch. The ambience was nice, but we needed to use DROID's Flashlight app to read the menu. Service is excellent, and all Lago personnel --- not just waitstaff --- are interested in meeting each diner's needs. I am definitely going back!"

  • "I can't say enough about Lago. Everything about our evening was perfect. Our meals were fabulous, creative and unforgettable. The service was exceptional, warm and professional. The wine recommendation was exactly what we were looking for. We loved it so much we came back one week later with a party of sixteen to celebrate a special occasion where once again, everything about our evening was exceptional. I just made another reservation for Valentines Day. Lago is one of the finest restaurants in the Cleveland area and definitely a new favorite of ours. You will LOVE it, I promise. The outstanding staff members who took such great care of us are Sean, Tim, Ariel, Adam and Aaron. Thank you so much guys. Kit English Furlong"

  • "The Sommelier, Sean Brickley, took care of us and he was wonderful...very attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. Started with drinks and the 5 cheese plate-the apricot chutney that was amazing! Next the "Dominic" flatbread. Would have been 5 stars, except that it was overly salty--not sure if it was the cheese, seasoning, or what. We had planned to order full entrees, but were done after pizza-very filling (which we did not expect), regardless of the heavy salt! Ambiance rating due to being seated SO close to other 2-person tables. Unfortunately, the couple seated next to us that fought thru their meal were so distracting that we didn't fully enjoy our time! More space to dine would have avoided this."

  • "Food was very good, Service was very good. I went during a snowstorm, and the valets out front did an excellent job of keeping the sidewalks shoveled. Much appreciated. There was also some kind of mini-tractor doing the street. I made the reservation through OpenTable, but was a little disappointed when I couldn't get a table for 5pm (or anytime during that hour) on a Saturday. Oh, well, I should have tried sooner. Surprised it would be booked up that early in the evening. Oh, well, I had some people coming from out of the county, so I had to made my reservations for a party of 6 at 4:45! Imagine my shock when I arrived and there was nobody else in the whole place! Irritating. Especially after the drive I just had."

  • "The food was good but quite rich. Our one problem was that the chef kept coming out to talk with what seemed to be friends or family. He and they were very loud and took away from our dining experience. Although we were bothered by the chefs being inconsiderate of us , our waitress was good and suggested a lovely wine that my husband enjoyed very much."

  • "Fantastic environment for celebration of important family events. Food and service were fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant for a unique dining experience."

  • "Reasonable prices for an upscale restaurant. My husband had the polenta bolognese which was OUTSTANDING, and I had the mushroom cavatelli which was rich and delicious. 3 course meal AND a bottle of wine for under $100... Can't beat that!!"

  • "There was a great scene in the restaurant for a Tuesday night at 7pm, it appeared to be guests from the attached hotel mostly. The service was good, however slow on drinks. The tap water had a strong metallic taste to it and our pizzas had little to no toppings - with the price being $16 I would like I would have more. I would go back to sit at the bar and get a app or starter."

  • "Lagos is an ok restaurant but not a great one. The service was very attentive but the food was just ok. We may have expected too much--thought it was going to be a fine dining experience but it fell short. It reminds one of more of a neighborhood bar with food."
    Dined on 12/28/2013
  • "Lago did not disappoint. Portions exceedingly large--worthy appetizers include the meatballs and calamari. Bolognese over polenta was delicious. Caesar salad a winner. Only negative was that the restaurant was super dark--beyond romantic, and more "Can you see the menu?" Trendy diners, upscale vibe. Our server was spot-on."

  • "Loved the Veal Tortellini which I was told is handmade at Lago. In a cream sauce with peas...cannot wait to go back and have that dish again! Aso the flatbread pizzas were fantastic!"

  • "We arrived at Lago we were promptly seated but then were forgotten about! Finally after about thirty minutes the hostess was seating someone near our table and I asked her about who are server might be so we could get a drink. She apologized and immediately took our drink order. Several minutes later the manager came to apologize for the confusion?!?!? We were not sure what confusion there might have been, they were not extremely busy! Soon after, a server finally acknowledged us and said the confusion was the two servers did not know whose table we were! Seriously?!?!?!? After the "confusion" our service was ok and the food we ordered was pretty good! We ordered some cheese, meats, olives and the calamari appetizer which is spicy but good."

  • "I looked forward to dining at Lago but found the food average at best. Even though the restaurant was empty the food was underseasoned and lacked finesse expected in a better Italian restaurant."

  • "Lago provides a contemporary setting with great food. It's exciting to have a fun restaurant like this in an up and coming section of Cleveland."

  • "I love the aloft's new dining strip. Ken Stewarts for cocktails, then Lago for dinner. Can't wait to come back and try the wxyz bar. The trio will be a great new addition to downtown Cleveland entertaining."

  • "Not the Lago of Tremont. The pasta dishes were smothered in butter and cream....no culinary genius in that."
    Dined on 12/23/2013
  • "R first time @ the new location, it was excellent, the food was great and service(r waitess Shannon) was very pleasant , the bar services also was good, will return,"
    Dined on 12/20/2013
  • "The food and our server was very good! However, while we enjoyed celebrating a birthday we felt neglected by the owner, chef, and manager who were visiting and having lengthy conversations, offerings of food, and wine to the tables surrounding ours. We were quite disappointed as this was our first visit to Lago and the renovated Flats."
    Dined on 12/7/2013
  • "The food at Lago is extraordinary. The red sauce that the calamari comes in needs to be bottled. My Saltimboca was an outrageous taste explosion. We'll be going back here often."

  • "After traveling all the time and entertaining customers, I have found a little bit of Chicago and a little bit of Miami in Cleveland. What a wonderful discovery....The Food was amazing... Vibe was unlike anything I'd expect.... Ditch the high price stuffness of Ken Stewart's and catapult yourself into a modern scene with great food at a good price. I'm going to be a regular!!! No worries here."

  • "A group of friends and I went to Lago for dinner and drinks while staying at the Aloft Hotel. We had Shawn as our server and he was very knowledgeable about all the wine and cocktails. He was very pleasant and let us try samples of wine before ordering a whole glass. The service, food and drinks were all excellent. The hostess was also very nice and called a taxi for us when we were finished. An excellent place and look forward to going again soon."

  • "My husband and I only frequent locally owned restaurants and we head out at least twice a week. With that being said we are very particular as to where we want to spend our time, money and treat our palette. I had been anxious to experience Lago since it relocated from Tremont. Not surprising, it surpassed all expectations. We are very particular about atmosphere and Lago by far has some of the best atmosphere hands down! From great lighting, beautiful decor and fun nighttime vibe, it was perfect. The food not to forget was out of this world. It is ridiculously fresh and creative. Our entire party couldn't get enough and I can't wait to go back!"
