  • "We really enjoyed the Easter Brunch. We will certainly be back. Thank you!"

  • "We had a very enjoyable meal and felt the array of food and quality of food was terrific. "

  • "Lafayette House was great..... I had to add another 5 people to our already large group the morning of EASTER brunch and they did their best to accommodate us. We did have to wait about 45 minutes from our reservation time due to us wanting to be in the same room but they gave us several other options if we wanted to be seated sooner. It was also great that they kept replenishing the buffet table until the end of the brunch hour (2 PM) rather than at noon time...as they used to do a couple of years ago. We also appreciated the fact that we were not "rushed out". Very pleasant place to have a Sunday brunch. The buffet was excellent too."

  • "Restaurant is a buffet environment. If you seeking a quiet dinner for 2 this is not the place. Couldn't rate the food because we left for another restaurant Also in your survey Selection 2 you need to change the word under the first option "Great for Bunch" to Great for BRUNCH"

  • "The restaurant is beautiful and seasonally decorated for the holiday. Easy to see why it was a destination spot and packed! Considering how busy it was, the staff was very friendly. The limited holiday menu had great choices and the house salad dressing was amazing. I would go back just for that! But maybe not on a holiday."

  • "Large buffet for the money. Food was bland and they ran out of many breakfast items early for 1:30 pm reservation. Desserts were also disappointing. Servers were pleasant and attentive."

  • "Was very crowded, the room we were in, we were packed in like sardines and had to squish between diner's seats to get to buffet. It was not very comfortable trying to eat when people are hitting your seat all time. Food was good and our waitress was nice. I would not go on a holiday again unless it was the earliest seating when there are not many patrons yet."

  • "Between the food and ambiance we would have been better at Country Kitchen Buffett for half of the price."

  • "had 2pm reservations on easter sunday. was seated at 245 after inquiring twice. was seated at the door even though there were other tables. waitress had to be told to serve our table , and her attitude was poor. food was excellent. have eaten there at least 20 times in the past and will still return again "

  • "Very enjoyable evening. We ate in the Pub which was kid friendly as we had 8 year old twins with us. A little bit noisy but that is to be expected in a Pub setting."

  • "This night was a date for my boyfriend's birthday. I wanted to take him somewhere with excellent food and a charming, quiet atmosphere. All of the above were achieved! The veal was delicious and the filet mignon was cooked perfectly in the bernaise sauce. After struggling to get the cooked lobster out of the tail, our friendly waitress took it back to the cook who flawlessly removed the tender meat from its shell. I liked that the service did not move fast so we felt that we had to choke down our course to make room on the table for the next stuff being brought out. If you're looking for a relaxing dinner where you have plenty of time to digest in between courses, this is the place. If you want a quick meal, find another place."

  • "Lafayette house contains a full bar and restaurant. The bar looks like a local hang out with little to no effort put into it for the out of town customr while the restaurant has a formal setting. The formal setting looks like it was last updated in the early 1980's. The food is good but not worth the high prices. The place has the oddest bathroom set up I have ever seen."

  • "We've been dining at the Lafayette House for years and we were really looking forward to a nice roast beef meal. Shrimp cocktail very nice, onion soup VERY salty Wedge of lettuce very nice also. We had ordered our roast beef med. rare, however , it came to the table medium and cool, not hot. The waitress who was very nice and asked us if we wanted to send it back. We did say no, so she brought us some hot au jus broth which was very nice of her. That saved the beef, but we were disappointed. We do not eat beef often and always remembered the good meals that we had had at the Lafayette House in the past and if was convenient for us as we were just returning from viewing and opera at Patriot Place. We will try again."

  • "Historic setting on a main road; nicely prepared simple food, old-fasioned but well-maintained parlor furniture. Tastefully decorated for Easter. Nice to have linens at lunch."

  • "My wife and I visited the Lafayette House for dinner on Saturday night. Because my wife has certain dietary preferences, she always asks for her meals to be prepared a certain way. The waitress on this night was excellent - asking my wife clarifying questions and anticipating additional questions/requests she might have. And her meal was delivered exactly to order. Outstanding food, outstanding service and well worth the visit."

  • "Had a surprise birthday for my wife which went extremely well. Started in the pub with our guests joining us at the designated time. Restaurant staff kept our table until we were ready to leave the pub. Outstanding customer service and fantastic meal. Will recommend to others and will go again."

  • "I have been going to this restaurant for years and it has its ups and downs. The last 2 visits within one year have been disappointing. Food was mediocre. This time it was lukewarm, not even hot. Service staff are downright unhappy. They don't offer any information as to vegetables, salads etc, and can't wait to run from your table. They can't even make eye contact. Same thing happened last time we went. Seems like an unhappy place to work which shows to the customers"

  • "I was looking for someplace unusual and special for a friend's birthday dinner. Found this place and thought it sounded interesting. It was a great choice. Bar is old and quaint. Restaurant is a little old school, but in a good way. I had the seafood bouillabaisse, which was very good. Lamb looked good. Steak was good, according to another friend. All in all, I really like it here and will find a reason to go back."

  • "My wife and I weren't able to get out on Valentine's day. We took advantage of a gift certificate we had and those where honored at the Lafayette house. My parents had been years ago. I've passed it many times heading to Gillette Stadium. Reading reviews on it here and there peaked my interest. Since it's a old historical restaurant I'm glad it felt that way inside. The reviews about decor don't do it justice. If you like dining in historical places it's a perfect fit. Much like the Green Dragon in Boston, this place didn't disappoint as far as decor. The staff was wonderful. Couldn't ask for more from the staff. I had the baked stuff lobster and the wife had the special salmon. Both were wonderful as was dessert. We'll be back"

  • "My fiancé took me here for an extra special dinner date. Historically speaking, the Lafayette House dates back hundreds of years which is fascinating in itself. The ambiance was busy yet very nice for a romantic dinner. Best to reserve ahead to get seated right away as it is a popular dinner destination. Nice its a mature adult crowd. Sometimes its really nice to dine out without fussy children. There are several areas to the restaurant which reflects the menus choices. The dining room is best for couples since it has a very nice fireplace. The pub seems more casual with pub fare and not as pricey."

  • "It's been a while since we've been to the Lafayette. I don't know why we waited. There was nothing bad to say about our experience. The food was prepared well and the ingredients were fresh. Considering that it was Valentines Day and it was busy, our server was prompt, pleasant and attentive. The decor could use a little freshening but we've been to much worse. For the money, I think this is a very good deal."

  • "Dinner was delicious and the server was great she went above and beyond to make our dinning experience wonderful. I would definitely go back, prices were a little high but this was not your average restaurant."

  • "We went for Valentines dinner. We had a reservation and still had to wait. There were quaint looking rooms to be seated but we were seated in a large open room that had tables set up. We were the last ones eating in this room and they packed up all the tables and chairs in front of us before we were done eating! The only good part to the meal was the appetizer. The women's restroom was an icebox!! We won't be rushing back there or if at all."

  • "The food was slow to come out and it was cold when it finally arrived. The wines list is not good (especially by the glass). The service was ok, but nothing special. There is no reason to eat here. I won't return."

  • "We arrived, and the place was hoppin'...the food took a tiny bit longer, but well worth the wait. Everything was cooked to perfection, our waitress had great energy with a fun attitude. This was our first time here, we'll be back. Thanks!!"

  • "I've never written a negative restaurant review, but in this case, I think it is necessary. The Lafayette House is just not up to par. Starting with a complimentary small plate of mini crackers (5) and a teaspoon of cheese for a table of four to a dinner entree that was accompanied by cold vegggies to a desert of cold molten lava cake. I did like the warm bread. I was looking forward to the ambience of an historic Inn, but it just looked shabby to me."

  • "We had a nice quiet dinner here with good food and excellent service. I tried the Filet Mignon and it was perfectly cooked. The Bernaise Sauce was a nice complement. My wife had the Bouillabaisse. It was good, but she felt that the broth should have been less watery."

  • "Went for the Friday night family buffet. 7-year old son loved it. While not fancy, a very nice 'end of week, give yourself a treat' spot. Good food. Good drink. Wife loves the charm of the old colonial decor (parts of it used to be tavern on the old Boston post road)."

  • "We decided to brave the cold for a quiet dinner, just the two of us. Had no problems getting a reservation. Shrimp cocktail was fresh, had the salmon and the scollops, both were excellent. We really enjoy the atmosphere and the service was excellent. Very enjoyable dining experience."

  • "The restaurant has great ambience and a wonderful selection of entrees. I was looking for a more upscale place to dine and this fit my expectations of incorporating old New England charm with wonderful food and an extensive wine list."

  • "My wife enjoyed a quiet meal which featured good food and great ambiance near teh fireplace on a very, cold evening. It could not have been a better way to bring the hectic holiday season to a close. The waitress was attentive and added to the overall enjoyment of the evening!"

  • "We feel this "Neighborhood Gem" has been overlooked even by us, residents of Wrentham for 38 years. We recently went there for our anniversary and had a delicious, very reasonably priced meal by the fireplace. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly, giving us the time we wanted between courses. We highly recommend this restaurant that is sometimes overlooked, being so near to Patriot Place and Luciano's. Try it!"
