Diner Reviews
  • "They told us they DO NOT have restaurant week. They never have it or whatsoever. The food is normal and overpriced. The macron is ok."

  • "Fab service in an excellent space. Complemented the fantastic food."

  • "Although there were families and friends scattered around, I fell in love with this charming restaurant as the perfect date night location."

  • "Our party of four with an 8pm reservation was met by an annoyed hostess who was clearly eager to leave her job and get back to text messaging. We asked for a quiet table with a nice view of the restaurant. She looked at us like we had asked for a foot massage and told us "All the tables are the same. You want inside or outside?" "Inside please" We were walked into an empty dining room (8pm mind you) and seated at the table of our choice (like Denny's). We sat for 30 minutes waiting for someone to come to our table but the service was void! Not even water!! We actually laughed at how bad the service was, stood up and left the restaurant. I don't think anyone realized we were there. We went to Bouley on Duane Street and that was perfect."

  • "wonderful little dessert bites amid an elegant tea room - a perfect escape that transported me back to the champs-elysees - was also a bonus that the waiters/hosts spoke french merci, laduree! I'll be back!"

  • "Laduree is an excellent addition to the Soho dining scene. Food and service are elegant and the garden setting is delightful. Three of us had brunch on a recent Sunday. We all enjoyed our different food choices. The bakery is a great place to stop on the way out to bring home a special dessert. I will definitely dine there again and recommend it to friends."

  • "We went here my birthday brunch and had a wonderful time. The service was good, although the restaurant wasn't that crowded so maybe we got lucky there. The food was very good and the setting is very relaxed and romantic. There's not rush to get you in and out; there were groups that you could tell were spending a good 3-4 hours dining. The outside has a lot of tree coverage which is great to shield you from the Manhattan sun. We recommend the club sandwich, and I would skip the salads next time. My boyfriend is French and saw a famous french musician dining there as well. The place has a lot of seating and each room is something from a fairytale! I can't wait to return."

  • "I have been to the restaurant Laduree in Paris years ago. I've also stood on line often for their delicious macaroons in the uptown location which is strictly macaroons and gifts. So it was with great anticipation that I made reservations for a birthday lunch with my daughter and niece. On a subsequent evening we went back again for an impromptu dinner since we were staying in the neighborhood. On both occasions the food was great, cocktails divine, the macaroons heavenly. The ambience in the main dining room is beyond pretty, imagine Marie Antoinette's salon and you have the idea. While other diners gravitated to the outdoor garden, dining inside to soak was a must for me. Only complaint was poor service the second night."

  • "I've loved Laduree since visiting the harrods location several times when I lived in London which is extremely difficult to get a seat in. I have been to the Soho location 3 times with no problems. Have had excellent service every time. Food and deserts were great as always. And I like the soft towels in the bathroom."

  • "Beautiful terrace and ambiance. Loved the food presentation and decor. Perfect brunch place. Best desserts and macaroons."

  • "Food was so-so and the pastries were delicious. Our waitress was lovely but I wanted to comment on the service at the front where the macarons are displayed. Those macaron handlers are the rudest staff in all the Ladurees I've visited - very dismissive. Not to mention the hostess for the restaurant. She was very condescending towards another customer in the store. Not sure if this was an off day but will definitely not come back to this location. Try the one on Madison instead."

  • "It is such a treat to run into this place. The space just keeps going and going as you walk through three different ambiences until you reach the outdoor garden. Each space could serve a different kind of crowd, date, friends that you could go with. The food is delicious and the place is simply gorgeous. Recommend: salmon eggs benedict"

  • "We ordered a salmon sandwich but they cut down on the portion: less of fries and mesclun on the side. Amazing how they decided to give less food for same price just few months after their opening."

  • "I was a little disappointed at this place. The place didn't give you an option to sit indoors when it was freaking hot outside."
    Dined on 6/29/2014
  • "Food was great as usual. The lobby was poorly managed, as there was not much order and it took a while to be greeted by the hostess."

  • "My 11 YO daughter and I met a friend here for a late girls lunch. We were seated in the garden and it was lovely: the courtyard is a true escape. We adult enjoyed a bottle of rose in the shade of the courtyard and we all had delicious omelets. Be sure to save room for dessert, or at the very least a macron."

  • "I has an absolutely perfect outdoor brunch on warm sunny day. The garden is a gorgeous place, nice and shady. NY restaurant has the same menu as the Paris one. I prefer this place for brunch the best, but dinner won't disappointed too."

  • "I've been to several of the Laduree locations in France, and I love that the Soho location has a unique NYC flavor to it. It's about time they opened a restaurant-bar Laduree - while I love their signature macarons, the full dining experience is what I adore. Note on having reservations: definitely get them but don't be surprised if there's a little wait when you arrive. Hopefully that's just growing pains, and not a systemic issue."

  • "Sometimes, the restaurant is closed without notice. please call beforehand! I went there around 5:00pm and was told that they were closing for an event."

  • "It was a great surprise to know that there was such a nice Laduree branch in Manhatan! The place is lovely and we felt like being in Paris again. The food was impecable, as usual, but service was unenthusiastic. It worthed a while for the ambience and for the delicious macarrons and cannelés."

  • "Only go to Laduree Soho for the decor and the very soothing and romantic outdoor space at the very end of the restaurant. My wife and I went there for dinner and service was very poor, inconsistent and inattentive. We would have had a better service at a dinner. Food is actually dinner-like: average. We had sliders and the bread was hard and big, and our meat was not cooked the way we asked. Plus the waiter put his fingers all over the fries and touched almost everything with his fingers. The cherry on the cake was the setting of a small bar area outdoor, with a TV and loud patrons watching sports: what the hell are they thinking at Laduree Soho. If you don't mind average food, poor service and a high price tag go to Laduree."

  • "The garden at the back is the place to be. Sheltered from the sunlight by a stand of trees, with a light breeze and no road noise, it makes a great space for afternoon tea in summer. The food is excellent, but the macaroons are world famous."

  • "My friend from Shanghai and I decided to spend a Sunday morning at the wonderful Laduree. We both ordered the Vendome a dark chocolate biscuit layered with blackberry confit, chocolate and blackberry tea mousse. This mouse is perfection; it melts in your mouth and the three flavors meld perfectly. In keeping with the tea theme my friend ordered the Au Jasmin Yin Hao, a green tea from the Yin Hao in China that is well known for its jasmin flowers. I enjoyed Chéri, a delicate blend of black tea, cocoa, caramel and vanilla; this tea went perfectly with the flavor of the Vendome. Because I was in such a good mood I could not resist ordering the amazing Religieuses Violette filled with blackcurrant & violet flavored confectioner’s custard."

  • "I'm a fan if Laduree but to this one I'm not coming back. Start by firing the hostess!!! I asked for the patio, she said it was closed, 15min later there were 6 parties seated on the patio Everything was placed in front of me at once and forget any more service Coffee with cold milk and frosted butter... Need I say more?!?"

  • "My husband and I went to Laduree for Lunch to celebrate my birthday. I was very much looking forward to this lunch and the entire experience met all my expectations. The restaurant is beautiful and elegant yet not stuffy, the service was excellent and the food was amazing!! We had a delightful time and I've already made a reservation to go there again in a couple of weeks."

  • "A duplicate of Laduree elsewhere. A little Paris in New York. Same menu. Lovely new garden for dining. Waitstaff should be more attentive."

  • "Wasn't so happy with the service however the guy waiter who served us was great, the rest were not so.. Unorganized set of serving the different tables also. Hard to call for a waitress attention. Also wasn't informed that guests can only dine in the garden by 12pm. The only reason why I wanted to try this laduree branch was for the garden but didn't have the chance to."

  • "Our dining experience was exceptional. First, my son and I complicated things by bringing his 2.5 yr old dtr for a 'big girl' tea party. That's tricky at best, but the staff catered to our special needs and made her feel like a princess. The food was exceptional from beginning to end, we started with french rolls and sweet butter followed by sliders and a club sandwich topped off with Millefeuille Rhum and hot chocolate customized for our little princess. We also didn't have to wait in line up front for Macaroons because the staff let us order from our table and delievered it to us. What a wonderful event, we have and will recommend it to everyone who wants to experience and taste a little bit of heaven this side of Paris! "

  • "A beautiful location with a distinctly French flair. Our Sunday brunch was marred by the rudeness of the hostess (Manager) ; despite the fact we had notified the front desk that our guests were running late - when they did arrive we waited another 20 minutes to be seated, at a less preferred table, being told they were an hour late - when in fact they were 20 minutes late and when we were seated it was 40 minutes after our reservation. The mini burgers and super sized fries were very good - however the omelets were very disappointing - flat and tasteless. Laduree has a wonderful array of pastries and not to be missed desserts, which together with the very pretty rooms, enchanting garden and atmosphere make this a spot worth again"

  • "The garden dining was very pretty, though everything else that makes this establishment a restaurant needs immediate attention. The food was less than mediocre with very bland flavors. Not only was the omelette lacking in taste and spices, it had barely any chicken or the other ingredients as mentioned on the menu. The Bonaparte salad was mediocre. Nothing to rave about. The servers should be more attentive - water glasses were empty for more than 5 mins before I asked for refills. Besides the decor and ambience, the desserts are worth mentioning. The ispahan was made up for the lackluster entrees. It was light and refreshing. Love the rose petal ice cream. The space is aesthetically pleasing but lacking in all other depts. "

  • "This is my fourth time to the soho Laduree location since it opened and I've had good experiences every time except for this time, all because of terrible service. We sat down for over 15 minutes before asked if we wanted any drinks and we asked for water and gave our order. It took him over 1/2 to return to us to inform us what we ordered was NOT available.... And still no water.... No apologies ...nothing. The rest of the afternoon was the same non attentive, absent service. This kind of service reflects really badly on the restaurant and can turn away returning customers. If you have the misfortune of getting Drillion Tershalla, ask to leave if you see that on the name tag."
