LacroixAmazing Perfect ExperienceI took my new fiance there after having had her say yes, and there could not have been a better place. The ambiance was amazing, the service was great (though the waiter we had seems to forget a couple of ingredients), and the food was delicious. They did switch our plates around giving me the less rare and my fiance the more rare, but they quickly corrected it. They also gave us pretty much a sampling of every dessert they had. As a special treat, they gave us glasses of champagne and a beautiful tiffany's cake for a dessert for my fiance (PERFECT Touch). I gave them five stars on service even with the previously mentioned issues because they were quick to respond, and handled it expertly. This is a memory for the rest of our lives.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways TerrificWe had a wedding anniversary dinner, and the meal and experience were as good as we expected. And our expectations are pretty high!5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMLives up to its reputationMy friend and I have food allergies, and they couldn't be more accomodating. Beautiful restaurant with spectacular views of the park. The food was unbelievable; we did the four course menu. Imaginative combinations that tasted great (e.g. rhubarb three ways). Wait staff is extremely knowledgable (kudos to cheese guy and the sommlier, who introduced us to a fantastic dessert wine that went perfectly with the cheese plate). Attentive without being intrusive. I highly recommend this place.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMExtraordinary BrunchFabulous variety, wonderful tastes and choices, outstanding service, and beautiful views overlooking Rittenhouse Square. Cold first choice slections were absolutely fabulous. Breakfast dishes and deserts were very, very good. Only items below extraordinary were in-kitchen meats. The rack of lamb should have been better than it was - undercooked and too fatty, and the sliced skirt steak was somewhat less than we expected at this level; on the other hand the duck confit was GREAT. A lobster dish at this price would have been welcome.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Sunday brunchWe went for Mothers Day brunch. We have enjoyed high end brunch buffets around the US and overseas. This was clearly the best in variety, food quality, service and "foodie"-ness. Expensive but worth it.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLunch at LaCroixWe ordered the Salmon and the Halbut, both were fresh. The service for the food was quite slow hoenstly, but I give it five starts for the following reason - I was deciding between a lemonade and a Chardonnay, and on the server's reccomendation, went for teh altter. When he noticed I wasn't sipping it enough - I thin he assumed I did not enjoy it - he gave me a lemondae on the house without my asking - which was delightful with the salmon. The attention to detail was thus truly impressive and makes me want to go back again.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThe sommelier, Jeffrey, madeThe sommelier, Jeffrey, made excellent recommendations. The waitstaff were helpful and funny, not at all stuffy or condescending. Beautiful presentation and delicious food!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWhen you want to be treated. The service was excellent. We were made to feel as if we were the most important people in the restaurant. Expensive, but a must at least once.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMOne year wedding anniversaryWe had a great time and the food was great. We tried the chefs tasting menu and the wine pairing and it was worth it.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWas not disappointed one bit!We returned for dinner here as we had a business conference in Philadelphia this weekend and had been there a number of years before. Again, we had the four course dinner with wine pairings and it was magnificiant! We both especially loved the fois gras dish, our second course. I would consider flying down again, just to have that one more time! The wines were lovely and the service attentive enought without being intrusive and that is not an easy task. Loved having 2 types of butter to go with the various breads, too. We skipped dessert, so can't comment on that, tho they looked lovely. I would highly recommend LaCroix to anyone.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMBaby it's cold outsideGreat food, stunning master chef quality, surprising and exploding tastes. A very impressive winelist. Very friendly and accurate staff. Unfortunately the airco was too cold, we could not stay longer then strictly necessary. And it was eary May, outside it was just 16 celcius5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThe waiters were very attentiveThe waiters were very attentive and polite. There were several lunch selections. Food preparation and presentation was excellent. I liked the mini desserts--just a touch of something sweet. Overall, a very pleasant experience. We have been here before and we will be back.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently outstanding. My group of friends and I are always amazed how Lacroix can maintain such outstanding standards for everything. We were pleased it's not changed but as good as it gets.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe we t to Lacroix for brunchWe we t to Lacroix for brunch and I highly recommend it! Everything we ate was fabulous! They have you go back into the kitchen where to craving stations and sides. We spoke to the chef about how he prepared each item. The time the chef spent with us was amazing. It made our dining experience one I will not forget. I will be returning to Lacroix!!! Amazing dining experience!!4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent BrunchAbsolutely excellent food and service at Brunch. The only thing that surprised me was that there was no ability to have an omelet made to order. But the array of food was fantastic and the service incredibly polite and helpful.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was absolutely delicious,The food was absolutely delicious, not big and overwhelming portions. I think that is important in a restaurant as when one gets full with a small portion, that means that the food it truly was good. As far as for service, it was outstanding. I would definetly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Experience - TastingGreat Experience - Tasting Menu with Wine Pairing. Wondeful Service as well!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had the 4 course dinnerWe had the 4 course dinner with wine parings. The service was excellent: friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We had two varieties of tasty oysters instead of the first course for a small upcharge. The courses were all very good, but the highlight was my husband's "peas and carrots" souflee for the dessert course. Unique and yummy!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunchThis was our first time eating at Lacroix. We chose it to celebrate my Mother's 70th birthday with a ladies brunch. It was simply outstanding. Highly recommend trying it for a special occasion.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic restaurant and service.Fantastic restaurant and service. Wonderful view for tables near the window!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dinning with FriendsHave been here several times over the years and food continues to be excellent. Enjoyed the flexible of menu choice.
We did feel the service was a little less crisp than before but this is a minor detraction from the food which was great.
absolutely loved the lack of noise level.
We have however been here over a period of a decade and think it needs an update but please keep the sound proofing as it transforms the dining experience.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent - we hadFood was excellent - we had the tasting menu and paired it with a flight of wine (the cheapest of the 3 wine options) but it was expensive so I'd recommend for special occasions (bill for 2 was $550). Each course was delicious and unique and small enough to enjoy and not feel overwhelmed by the 8 courses. Service was v good although first 3 courses came in quick succession and then the gap between courses 4, 5 and 6 was a bit too long (as the restaurant got busier). Conservative decor.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMElegant Lunch Finally! What a beautiful day to have Lunch at Lacroix. We were hesitant as our past lunches in the last 5 years have been a disconnect from a lovely and elegant dinner and Brunch service but the Menu looked new and vibrant and the service is always spot on and the ambience is a home run. finally have a great Lunch menu to boot. It needs a few more dishes and a tweek here and there but my DP hada beautifully charred Romain and preserved lemon and smokey onion , I had a Foie Gras that was in a cashew butter and had grapes and a little guadillara pepper on the plate. Beuatiful dish but need done without grape stems. My entree was a perfectly cooked and sliced Hanger steak w/barley sun dried tomato and lump crab . excellent Great mini desserts!!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMI've eaten at most iron chefI've eaten at most iron chef restaurants. This one hits the food to the same caliber as meri Moto and bobby flay. This while only at 30 ish. Micro culinary quality cooking. Unique must have been high to create food pairings that absolutely work. I expect to see this chef on food network sometime soon4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMLacroix remains an outstandingLacroix remains an outstanding restaurant. Interesting, creative menu superbly executed. Service was excellent, attentive without being intrusive.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMHighly recommendedWe've been to La Croix twice before; this was the first time we went with a somewhat larger party. As always, the food was spectacular (we had the Chef's Tasting Dinner), and we had a very nice table with a view of Rittenhouse Square. The service was simply wonderful. Highly recommended!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding brunch, one ofOutstanding brunch, one of the best, though expensive.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWell worth the priceAs always well prepared food with an often very different take on combinations. The chef has a deft touch.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service makes everyoneThe service makes everyone feel like a foodie and the tasty combinations of ingredients are beautifully presented on every plate.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat FoodExcellent service and very interesting menu. I recently ate at Gordon Ramsey's and the food here is as good at a lot better price.3/18/2013 12:00:00 AMSunday eve 6:30, restaurantSunday eve 6:30, restaurant was quiet, but quite elegant and very confortable. Found the staff to be very pleasant. The food was fabulous.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMOur dinner was delicious andOur dinner was delicious and artfully presented. The service was top notch. Quiet yet elegant atmosphere. We sat by the window so had a beautiful view of the park. Highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be back!3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing brunch! From the serviceAmazing brunch! From the service to the food, the entire experience was superb!
First, our server took us for a tour of all the stations which included a few stations in the kitchen. Everything from the raw bar (oysters, shrimp, sushi) to the hot/cold entrees (short rib pad thai, crispy duck, foie gras milkshake) was delicious. The service is also exceptional!
We had an amazing view of Rittenhouse Sq park which made for an enjoyable, tasty afternoon. We shall return as this brunch is worth the drive from NYC.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic!!Phil, Stephen and the whole crew take such good care if you to ensure you have a wonderful experience.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a wonderful dinner-We had a wonderful dinner- lamb and short ribs entrees. It would be great if you could order just what you want though, and not 4 courses. I rarely eat dessert and at these prices ($75 pp for dinner) it is a waste.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMEasy like Sunday MorningSunday brunch is pricey per head, but well worth it for the selection and experience. Raw bar, multiple dessert stations, lots of salads and vegetable dishes, a couple cutting stations (both fish and meat), charcuterie, and a couple stations for hot prepared foods are more than enough to satisfy any craving you may have. If you still need your muffins and cereals, they have those, too... but I'll take short-rib pad thai or even braised brussel sprouts over Cheerios any day (or lamb chops, or duck confit, or soba noodles with lotus root, or sushi, or blood orange sorbet, or...). Take the tour, otherwise you may not find everything, and the service is impeccable. Also, get a reservation, and get it well in advance.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food. ExcellentExcellent food. Excellent service. Would love to try their Sunday brunch1/31/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyed a Restaurant WeekEnjoyed a Restaurant Week 3-course lunch for $20. First course selected was the Caesar salad with smoked charred onion and Parmesan cheese, second course chose the scallops (3 small) with white beans and chorizo, and for dessert had their only offering of 3 very small pastries. While portion sizes were generally small, the food was nicely prepared and very delicious. A basket of tasty sliced bread and seeded crackers with soft butter was provided. Lacroix also has a nice view of Rittenhouse Square. Service by Jorge and other Lacroix staff was excellent.1/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went for a late dinnerWe went for a late dinner on New Years Eve. The food was great as was the service and the complimetary glass of sparkling wine at midnight was a very nice touch. The wine list is etensive and impressive, but somewhat overpriced at the lower end.12/31/2012 12:00:00 AM
