I find that there are two food items which indicate if an Italian restaurant will be good; the quality of the bread and if the calamari is cooked properly. At La Volpe, the focaccia and rolls were very good and the calamari in the pasta frutti di mare was perfectly cooked. I inquired from a couple at an adjoining table how the calamari fritti was, and they spoke as though an angel had been the fryer. The rest of the meal was outstanding as well. The halibut and saltimbocca were well prepared and very tasty. The first course selections of artichokes and baby stuffed eggplant were outstanding. Nice wine list. Very attentive wait staff.

My favorite Italian restaurant! Not the same old, same old menu usually offered at other Italian resaurants. Tasty, original recipes, and willing to accommodate your personal request, if possible. No doubt a great chef is in the kitchen. Ambience, great bar, fine wines, friendly service. La Volpe shines! Even the website is great!

The evening was just fabulous. At the last minute (1.5 hours before our reservation) two more guests requested to join our group. The staff accomodated us without a problem. Mike was our waiter and his service was terrific, as usual. Roberto, the owner, was just back from a month in Sicilia. And as always, he was warm, welcoming and gracious. Needless to say my mother's birthday was a huge success. And our guests were still talking about it two days later. Thank you so very much for making us a part of the La Volpe family.

Although I am a lifetime resident of Long Island, when a friend suggested we meet at La Volpe in Center Moriches, I have to confess, I had no idea where Center Moriches was. After lunch at La Volpe, I can't wait to go back. Their chicken francese was delicious, the penne in oil and garlic the best I have ever had, their wines by the glass excellent and the service was friendly and efficient. A true find!

Our dining experience was wonderful. We were off in a "private" room which was nice since it was quiet with only a few tables. That was nice. The food and service were excellent. I have only one comment. A "waitress" came up to us to ask us about the kind of water we would like....sparkling or flat. She had a heavy accent and we just replied "flat". Lo and behold, suddenly she came to the table with a bottle of spring water which we then knew would be added to our bill. It wasn't made clear that we could just get a pitcher of regular water w/o a charge. I felt fooled. A small thing, but, still in all, annoying.

As always a fabulous dinner with the most attentive hosts--one feels like a member of the family. I would eat there every night if my schedule permitted. Cannot recommend more highly. The seafood is fresh and tasty. The pasta dishes are unique with Asian touches by Franco. The presentation is breathtaking. The wine is lovingly selected by Roberto and reasonably priced. Children are well taken care of too and I even bring my grandsons who are all under six. I am bringing my niece tonight for her 30th birthday. It is a joy that no one should miss out on.

Having been to La Volpe for my birthday, I was looking forward to another special occasion there. We were disappointed to have spent over $200 for 2 of us and left hungry. There were few food choices, the Lobster Ravioli was not presented well, and was a very small portion. They charged for coffee after the fixed price of $65 person. This should have been part of the meal. We were stuck in a corner of the restaurant that was very confining.. behind a pole. On the plus side.... the service was fantastic and the wine which she recommended wonderful. May be a while till we can afford to go back.

La Volpe is one incredible restaurant in every catagory, especially the food. Not only was the food five star quality but nothing impresses me more than the entire tables entrees being brought out by individual wait staff all at the same time. Another huge plus is the relaxed non rushed dining experience. My open table reservation was great. My daughter and her fiancee arrived earlier than my wife and I, and they were imediately greated as well as seated in an area {intimate and quiet} exactly as requested. Bravo.....

I was very pleased to find a good restaurant out in Suffolk. It was my birthday and I was looking forward to a nice dinner with my family. I was not disappointed. I ordered the Pork medalions which were very good. This came with small potatoes that were so delicious I wish there were more. The Fennel salad was very different and refreshing. My husband ordered the lambchop special with beats. He was not fully able to enjoy it since he had a terrible cold and could not really taste the meal. We did not order desert since we were having a birthday cake back at home. For 5 of us, with the tip the meal with 2 bottles of wine came was $280. A little pricey.. but I think we will go back again for another special occasion

I attended a "Wine Dinner". They have them almost monthly. This was my first, but my second time at the restaurant. The wine dinner was a lot of fun. It was very well done. They were generous with the wines, and explained them well. The food was very good (although the food was better on my first visit, which was not part of such an event). I highly recommend the restaurant. It's authentic Italian food; a rarity in this area. It'll put Center Moriches on the culinary map. I'll be back.

It wasn't really romantic when we were there because there were a few groups with children, therefore it was kind of noisy. But we still had a wonderful time and I believe it could be romantic without all the kiddies. We might try going later next time to avoid the noise. The food was exceptional, from the yummy warm bread brought to the table, to the fresh tasting cashew and pesto filled gnocchi, and especially the toasted almond tiramisu!! YUM!! The hostess was extremely pleasant and accomodating, and our server made great recommendations! Will definitely recommend to friends and family and will definitely go again! We had high hopes for La Volpe as it was highly recommended by a friend. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. We started out great. Our waitress was well informed and our appetizers came out quickly. Our biggest problem was that our main courses did not. We waited quite a long time for them to come out. We were there with our children and they became very fidgety. I would suggest at the very least that if people are dining with children who order a simple meal (pizza and plain pasta) that they ask if the children would like their food before the adults. My meal was mediocre. I ordered veal pizziola and the meat was tough and chewy. The sliced olives in the sauce were obviously from a can. Not sure if we'll return...

There certainly wasn't anything to complain about and the only reason why I had to check 'loud' in noise, was due to it being a Saturday night before Mother's day. Restaurant was filled to capacity, so it really isn't fair to classify it as loud all the time. It's nice to see that people are dressed nicely and not in sweats or jeans.
