Upon arrival they stated that we did not have a reservation. They checked in their hand written reservations book. When I mentioned I had used Open Table the "Owner" tried to find it on his Cell Phone. He said he did not find it. At that point ALL 9 of us left to go elsewhere.

Restaurant had a lovely ambience- music playing in the bar area which was not too loud in the main dining room. Waitstaff was professional and friendly. Service was a bit slow, and one in our party was given the wrong meal which had to be switched, but the switch was done efficiently. Outdoor patio was pretty and peaceful.

Very disappointed. Menu is getting old, maybe appeals to older traditional crowd.

Perhaps not their best night? Even though a 35th wedding anniversary reservation via Opentable was in place, we had to wait while they cleared and reset a table for us. The expensive wine we selected was out of stock but their proposed substitute was pretty good too. Service was prompt and courteous and the room setting romantic in a quaint way. The food was just average in a city of excellent Italian restaurants so it is hard to stand out from the crowd. The complimnetary tiramisu desert was good but again not to die for. We had heard good comments from friends and are glad we tried them but probably won't rush back and abandon our other favorites in downtown.

  • Romantic alley hideaway

Clever adaptation of an alley behind the restaurant to create an intimate dining space. Romantic atmosphere at night when there are few other diners to disturb the mood. Divino has a loyal, affluent clientele which enjoys an unchanging menu of reliably consistent food. Nothing trendy here and the specials can be disappointing if they stray too far from the standards. Attentive service adds to the enjoyment of the place.

We have eaten regularly at Divino's over the past years, and wanted to try La Veranda, which is simply an outside seating extension of Divino's. We like Divino's, but the menu hasn't changed much, and while the food was good, it was uninspired. We went on a Tuesday night and we were the only two people outside. Time to pep up the place a little.
