Welcome to La Toscana Ristorante, located in San Rafael, across from the Marin Civic Center designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. "Great dinner, however, the waitress struggled all night. She forgot one of our party's soup, extra side dish, Didn't check back with us during the evening. I understand she was busy however this is why you ask for help from manager, owner, bus attendee or other.."

"We have been going to La Toscana since it opened, over 20 years ago. The food is always good. I was just so disappointed in the service this time. Extremely slow, and the server forgot to put in the order for the Birthday Boy (12). To cook it quicker they butterflied and grilled his New York steak. NOT a success.
I will go back, however, I will not have the same server again. He has been less than good several times before. I have really learned a lesson this time."

"New menu! Much improved! Previously I gave La Toscana two star. The food was really old and tired, mediocre American Italian. The family has been paying attention, and there's a new attention to ingredients and authenticity. Still a way to go, but a nice trend."

"This restaurant has been in San Rafael for years. Generally, my experience has been good. But, my last visit was poor. I ordered the veal scallopini with pasta and veges. The pasta and veges were fine; however, the veal was tough and had very little taste. The plate was priced at $25 which I felt was very expensive for what I got. My wife's had fish which was very good."

"We had a wonderful dinner on Christmas Eve and it may become a new, family tradition. I waitress had a terrific personality and added greatly to the evening's enjoyment.
