It was every bit as good as we hoped! Service was lively and attentive. The food was fantastic... you just don't want to leave anything on the plate and are sad when it's gone. I had an artichoke potato soup, and a veal porterhouse. Both were delicious. Vegetables were fresh and perfectly prepared. My wife had linguine with truffles, mushrooms and speck. She doesn't even like mushrooms and still ate all of it... Our server suggested the dish and was spot on. All of the pasta is made fresh in-house. Desert was a coffee and vanilla gelato creation with sponge cake sandwiched between the flavors. Prices were reasonable for the quality of food and service. I am a single dad, and I try to expose my sons, ages 17 and 12, to many different dining experiences. The staff at La Tavola was exceptional! They were very attentive, and offered excellent suggestions to accompany our meals. They treated us with a level of dignity and respect that my sons and I, as Black men, don't often experience. Furthermore, the food was delicious! The chocolate martini is amazingly life-changing! :-)

Dessert was the real gem of the meal. My fiancee had an amazing chocolate mousse (I stole a few bites) and I had the BEST cheese cake I've ever had! I've been to a lot of cheesecake hot spots, and this one was better than Junior's. Light but still rich and delicious. Do yourself a favor: ORDER THE CHEESE CAKE.
Overall a bit pricey for what we got, but nonetheless we'll return hungry and looking forward to our next meal at La Tavola.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Waitress EVER!!! Food superb!I had a lovely time at the La Tavolo Restaurant. I was dining along and felt very well taken care of and not overly harrassed. I could read, and enjoy and just take in the surroundings. There was one gentleman who knew I was an O's fan and every once in a while would share the score. And the waitress was indeed the best I have ever experienced. She helped me make my wine selections, dinner selection, my appetizer selection and my dessert selection and she did not steer me wrong. It was just totally a wonderful experience from start to finish and that dessert with the frozen ice cream and the side of cream with raspberry puree and chocolate swirled was "OH MY HEAVENLY FATHER" delicious. It took another trip to Baltimore for me to finally try it. It looked intimidating at night, and a bit formal for a weekend outing, but once inside, I found it bright and cheery, most of all, a great business lunch location. What a nice place! The food is excellent, the service likewise. This is a must do again restaurant for me. We had the luncheon menu, but the dinner menu was delightful. Calamari was well done and tender as it should be. Our sandwiches were also very tasty. I'm not a restaurant reviewer, but as a sales professional, I've dined in almost every worthwhile restaurant from here to Canada. On our last visit, the kitchen sold out of one of the specials (Rockfish)as we were ordering--so the chef whipped up something similar with a red snapper that was absolutely wonderful! The crispy Speck with the creamy sauce and reduced balsamic glaze is a perfect. The Mozzarella Fresca with freshly cracked pepper is perfect for two to share.
