La Tavola is consistently delicious. I never have to worry about them having a "bad night". For the first 10 or so times I was there, I always got the Salumi Board for an appetizer and the Mushroom Ragu Tagliolini for my main course. This most recent time I tried instead the Squid Ink linguini (squid ink something, I don't really remember). Totally awesome. I think even better than the Mushroom Ragu. Basically if you're having a night when you don't want to have to worry about rolling the dice if you'll have a good meal, La Tavola is perfect.

It was our first time at this restaurant. The print on the wine list was so small that three out of four at the table could not read it. Out of the first two selections none were available. After very nice aps three people ordered pasta dishes and one had a veal dish. The pasta was well received and the veal dish must have been sitting under the heat lamp waiting for the pasta to be ready. While the veal was a little dried out the flavors were first rate and would be tried again. The tables just in front of the kitchen give the feeling of sitting at a table in a busy train station at rush hour.

  • Great Restaurant in Atlanta

This is a restaurant that my sister and I were recommended by one of the local residents in the Virginia Highlands area of Atlanta. The restaurant was very accommodating since my guest arrived an hour late for the reservation. We had the rabbit, lasagna and zuppa de pesce and all the entrees were good. The desserts were good bit the canola was more Atlanta cuisine than Italian. The canoli shell was fried like most foods in the south but was not bad. Good restaurant with pretty good service.

Only $10 for one of four offered pasta dishes is hard to beat. The cacio and pepe pasta is so simple and a particular favorite of mine but our table tried all of them and we were all happy. We felt as if we were in Italy. We had 2 children in tow and our server was amazing. His suggestions were excellent and his patience noteworthy. Usually don't order a dessert when we go out to dinner but it would be tragic to leave La Tavola without a bite of the incredible flourless chocolate cake with a touch of sea salt. And it is guaranteed you will not stop at one bite. Oh my!!!

We have lived in Atlanta since 2001 and we cannot say how many times we have dined at La Tavola. The food is authentic and the menu always has our main favorites. We have had Madeline as our server several times and she is absolutely fantastic! In fact, we would request her every time if we could. The service is outstanding and the ambience is great. While we still like to try new things every once in a while, we now we can always go back and count on La Tavola. We would recommend them to anyone!

This was our first time there and we were very pleased. We sat on the deck in the back which we didn't know was there. Reminded us of bing in Europe. Service was perfect as well as the food. We were debating btw a couple of different entree's and our server was very helpful for us in deciding. We did the same for dessert and we told him to choose and he hit it out of the park. He pared it with the wine we were drinking with dinner. Perfect Definitely going back :)

La Tavola remains my favorite restaurant for the outstanding food, service and value it offers. This evening we chose the pasta special which had roasted squash and chanterelle mushrooms and was delicious, as every pasta dish here has been. Their fish specials are always good as well and we both thought this one was among the best we've had anywhere. It was amberjack over roasted corn and faro in a sauce with flavors that were wonderful and an aroma that delighted from the moment the dish was placed on the table. We finished with the flourless chocolate cake (our favorite dessert) and vanilla semifreddo - a decadent delight! Service was terrific, and every member of staff was friendly and helpful - working together to please patrons.

My wife and I enjoy the familiarity of this place. The wait staff have been there for a long time. The meals uphold a consistency we enjoy. My wife usually drifts toward the lasagna. A small take home box insures a good lunch. The manager always says hello: "Is there anything he can do?". Love the porch-even in the winter. Looking forward to next time already.

Went to La Tavlola the Sunday of Labor Day Weekend, and it was quite crowded and we were happy to have our reservation. We split a salad, two pasta entrees, and a vegetable side, which was a good amount of food. The Mushroom ragu and the ricotta gnocchi and both were amazing- I'd highly recommend both! And our server was super helpful with wine recommendations.

We had dinner with friends. The ambiance is nice. It's a quaint neighborhood restaurant. On the downside, our server annoyed me because she insisted on pouring the wine remaining in the bottle to the guests even though we told her we wanted to pour it ourselves so that everyone had an equal amount. She basically filled up two glasses and left the other two guests (who just happened to drink a little bit more slowly) without a second glass of wine. I had a type of ravioli with squash and ricotta cheese that was the tiniest portion I've ever had in an Italian restaurant. I also asked the server if it was a heavy dish and she said no, but guess what, it was floating in a dense cream or butter sauce. Yuck. The wine was overpriced too.
