Diner Reviews
  • "We were running late for a show at the Fox. The staff was very courteous and helped to expedite our dinner, allowing us to enjoy a great meal and make our show on time. The food was superb, as usual."

  • "If you like a smallish dining room with LOUD MUSIC, LOUD CONVERSATION, small tables, this is the place to go. The food is fine, but this is not a place if you want to talk with your group."
    Dined on 4/12/2014
  • "We have eaten at this restaurant twice and both meals have been great. The menu is interesting with some great entrees. The wait staff is fantastic. We have never waited long for a table."

  • "Gnocchi was very good, rest not that exciting, especially the trout dish."

  • "I had heard great things La Tavola from a few friends. Decided to make reservations for my partner and I for our anniversary. The experience went far beyond our expectation. The food was wonderful. The service was excellent. Will go back soon."

  • "This was our first visit and we will certainly go back again. All the dishes we ordered, the starters and the main dishes were excellent. The service started out a bit rushed but very soon became relaxed. The dining hall is quite crowded but despite that the noise level was not too bad. Highly recommend."

  • "My wife and I walk up to La Tavola about once every three weeks; it has never failed to please us. Food wise and def not service wise. Jennifer is the most wonderful waitress ever and the rest of the staff is equally gracious, well versed and efficient. Dependable wine list, always excellent specials and never fail regular menu items from spaghetti to veal to risotto to the incredible desserts. One of our fave places... after Floataway!"

  • "We had a very enjoyable evening. Outstanding food and service. Located in a beautiful area of Atlanta. We highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "The atmosphere and service was absolutely wonderful. We ordered the olives to start which were so succulent and delicious and then had the most decadent bottle of Barolo. My mother ordered the Market fish that was presented beautifully and was light and playful. I ordered the rabbit that was cooked to perfection and sang notes of sweetness and along with the crunch of the perfectly cooked potatoes. We were set to order from the dessert menu when our delightful server surprised us with a selection of the flourless chocolate cake and ginger marscapone cheesecake with a candle (as it was my mother's birthday)! After a perfect espresso to cap off our meal, we were in food nirvana."

  • "Our dining experience was amazing!!! The food, all the way through our meal, was top notch. Every course was delicious, we couldn't pick a favorite. Fresh and homemade ingredients really make every thing that much more delicious. I can't wait to come back and try some of the other wonderful menu items. And my cocktail was delicious too!! 5 stars!"

  • "we continue to go back to La Tavola again and again. The food is impeccably wonderful. The service might be halted by the small space and maneuvering around all the tables, chairs...and people. But everyone goes above and beyond to make you feel happy. This is the essence of the real Italian eating experience."

  • "La Tavola Trattoria has been here for years and I've finally dined here. Excellent, cuisine. Do not miss the calamari. They are absolutely to die for! Everything was superb. We will be back."

  • "LaTavola is a personal favorite for any occasion to bring people together around food - reconnecting with friends, romantic date night, or a fun night out on the town. Menu items are diverse and portions are healthy. You will leave feeling satisfied, but not over-stuffed like most Italian restaurants."

  • "I've had dinner and brunch at La Tavola and both times were fantastic. Service is supreme, and the food is melt-in-your-mouth delicious!"

  • "Both our food and wine were outstanding! However, the seating was so cramped and hot (next to food prep) that we are embarrassed to have taken our visitors from Chicago to this restaurant. (When we made the reservation, we didn't know to request a booth - next time, we will be sure to!)"
    Dined on 3/18/2014
  • "The food was outstanding with a nice wine list. The noise level was a little high. Our waitress was attentive and very helpful with choices."

  • "La Tavola is a vibrant trattoria located somewhat off Atlanta's more visited areas. It is crowded and busy --the signs of a GREAT restaurant. Service is excellent. Its menu is exquisite. Highly recommended."

  • "La Tavola consistently exceeds expectations! The food and service is outstanding. The menu is diverse and well planned. They have a very large Gluten free menu as well. The place is always vibrant and busy. I highly recommend it."

  • "Last trip we'd just got back from my wife's biz trip to Vegas, I tagged along, consistently great food and service at La Tavola. We'd eaten at Flay's Mesa Grill, Nobu, and Ramsey's Pub at Caesars and we both said "This is overall a better meal and experience". Not that the others were bad and of course delivering in Vegas a different drill than the local neighborhood. But you don't have to travel far to get a great dining experience if you are lucky enough to live in Atlanta."

  • "Food is very good, service is good, but the place is kind of a hole in the wall and it's pretty pricey. Not fit for a romantic dinner as it's SO noisy, with very tight quarters. The tables are really packed in tight. Parking is also very difficult with on-street unsecured parking the best option. Would I go back? I'd rather find some other place that has a better ambiance and less confining."

  • "Probably my favorite restaurant in Atlanta. From the wonderful pastas to the decadent dessert, the food here is always delicious and leaves me hoping to go back soon. The mushroom ragu tagliolini has the perfect mix of flavors, the nightly fish special is consistently good, and the flourless chocolate cake is the one dessert we always save room to share. Service is always friendly and attentive, too."

  • "First visit to this very personable Restaurant. Found the location quaint and very nicely appointed, cozy, and friendly. Menu was very good mix of choices. Food was excellent as was service. Wait time very reasonable. Would recommend!"

  • "My husband and I went to La Ravola Trattoria for his birthday. It was perfect for a cozy romantic dinner. The seating is a little crammed but the noise level was a little loud so it still felt fairly intimate. The food was incredible, I had the lasagna and he had the squid ink linguine. We couldn't decide on what dessert to split so we got the chef sampler and everything on the plate was delicious. My personal favorite was the flour-less chocolate cake which says a lot because I am not a fan of chocolate cake normally."

  • "Authentic and rustic style Italian. High quality and well-seasoned dishes, but not made complicated with too many ingredients or fussy presentation. Best dishes: home-made mozzarella with cucumber, and the mahi over barley. Least favorite dishes: salads very plain and zuppa de pesci a little skimpy on the shellfish. Overall, a very nice meal in a cozy atmosphere."

  • "Started going there for dinners in the late 90s (after graduating from college so I could afford entrees at around ~$16-26), had my 1st great date with my husband there almost 11 years ago (when I lived in-town) and still drive there today (from the suburbs) because it's worth it. Always great food (seasoned perfectly) and even our most knowledgeable wine and foodie friends have been impressed. I agree 100% with the La Tavola website which describes them as "classic, cozy Italian" and "consistently listed as one of Atlanta's top 50 restaurants." I've lived in Atlanta for most of the last 25 years, and it is has remained in my top 5 - always a safe bet. Make a reservation, leave the kids with a sitter, get a booth, and enjoy."

  • "La Tavola is one of our top 5 restaurants in the city. Always wonderful in every way. We love to introduce it to friends. The food is always excellent and the ambiance reminds us of a neighborhood gem you might find in NYC. Always happy to be there!"

  • "La Tavola never disappoints. I brought a friend to experience the food - but what made this visit special was the people who work there. Chris the manager was quick with an open hand and a warm hello. Alli the bartender and servers Jeff and Jennifer treated us like old friends they were delighted to see. Special thanks to Tony for service that was knowledgeable, professional and always there when needed. A great night out."

  • "Brunch never dissapoints here. Reasonably priced too. Got a complementary olive oil cake as well, which is my favorite dessert in the city."

  • "This place never let's us down. The food is always fresh and well prepared and the ambiance is enchanting. It's a hit or miss with the servers, but don't let that stop you."

  • "Went there for Valentine's Day meal, as did a lot of other people. The menu was prix fixe and pretty pricey. My choices: Appetizer was okay (arugula salad with apples), entree was not, too lemony seafood risotto with clams that left bits of abrasive debris in the dish (not washed well enough?). My date had some veal ravioli, which she did not really like either. The dessert (cheesecake) was actually pretty good. Maybe a glass of wine should have been included with the price. That, or the entrees could have been better. $140 plus more for tip...shoulda went across the street... Will not return."

  • "We had an amazing dinner. This is some of the best Italian food I've ever had, and that includes New York and Boston. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice Italian meal in a great neighborhood atmosphere. My wife had the duck and it was fantastic. I had spaghetti and meatballs which were off the charts delicious. We have nothing but great things to say about La Tavola Trattoria. We will definitely be back soon!"

  • "This was our first time at La Tavola together. It was a wonderful dining experience from start to finish! The server was friendly and highly knowledgable about the food and wine, including daily specials, and was able to make excellent wine suggestions that fit with our dishes and preferences. The chef uses fresh, seasonal, high quality ingredients, prepares meals creatively and presents them aesthetically, without being fussy or overly exotic. Food and service were genuine and top notch, in a comfortable and non-snobby atmosphere. A neighborhood gem, which is also wonderful for a special occasion! PS: They are also involved in a program to support food pantries, teach nutrition and cooking to less privileged Atlanta residents. Terrific!"

  • "Always an excellent choice, especially for a special occasion, La Tavola is one of intown Atlanta's star restaurants. Very difficult to match the superior service and the unique menu choices; on weekends, with jazz music in the background, it can be difficult to have a conversation with others at your table. Tables on the back screened in porch are my preference when I want to talk with my dining partners."
