La Tavola TrattoriaGreat experience - 18th anniversaryFabulous food / service- Our waiter Randal was the best! The meal was so memorable from start to finish - Randal brought us a complimentary dessert to cap off our delicious meal - what a treat - totally unexpected - We live nearby and will be back soon!6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMenjoyed a fab brunch on a busy Sun!Enjoyed a leisurely brunch on a very busy Va Highlands Festival Sunday morning...seated right away had an excellen server who made recommendations and when brunch happy hour arrived, we enjoyed delish blackberry lemonade and vodka drinks, ..awesome,very refreshing!
Enjoyed several brunch items but mainly the Salmui Board as an appetizer then: two eggs plate and fresh yogurt, berries and granola. all yum!!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMAvoid SummerFest weekendWe love La Tavola and most recently visited to celebrate birthdays. Had we realized that it was SummerFest weekend we would have chosen differently. Although the food was great and the service was good we were unable to enjoy a quiet dinner and conversation with friends due to the noise level from the festival and adjoining patio seating. Our server was new and the restaurant was really busy so our service experience wasn't quite what we've come to expect but still good.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a WinnerLa Tavola is always a consistent choice for a great meal and great service. We were seated exactly at our reservation time at one of two tables in the front window. Although the tables are a little close together, it was more of an issue of servers being able to get through vs. an issue for us. Braised Beef Cheeks provided a tasty appetizer full of flavor. Our entrees of Rabbit Ragu and Grilled Mahi Mahi (a special that day) were fantastic. Try dinner with the Blackberry Sage Cocktail and you have a perfect evening. We ended with the Chef's Tasting of Desserts-4 smaller portions of choices from the dessert menu-just right for two people.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a great dinner on theHad a great dinner on the patio. Our server, Jason, was excellent. He was very personable as well as knowledgeable of the food and wine menus.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMseatingSeating is a problem. Everyone wants a booth because the tables are so crowded in the middle.
The last three times we have been we have been seated at the last table, next to the kitchen and close to the bar. Wait staff bumped into the back of my chair twice. It is not a satisfactory place to sit. If we are seated there again we will stopp going.
Food is wonderful; service is good, ambience is nice.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMI love this little place.I love this little place. It's cozy, romantic, quaint. I brought my mother here for dinner, and we both loved our food! The calamari was flavorful and the dish worked well. Calamari is often rubbery and forgettable when not fried, not the case here! Our pasta dishes and the flourless chocolate cake were equally delicious. The service was good, not superb, but it was a Monday night and our server was very knowledgable so we were very pleased.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding Everything! From the outdoor seating, to our precious server, we are never disappointed with our visit to LaTavola. We will most definitely request Sarah for our server. Her description5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMService with a smileOne of the things that stood out the most to me at La Tavola was the service from our waitress Sarah. She was friendly, helpful (described every dish we had questions about) and checked on us throughout the meal. I ordered the ricotta gnocchi with lamb sprinkled on top and it was pretty tasty. The only thing I would say is if you don't like sitting close to strangers, this might not be the place for you because it is very small and the booths and tables are situated right next to one another making it too close for comfort.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat as always!Took my mother here for a belated Mother's Day dinner and we had a great time. Everything from the food to the service to the friendly staff is top notch. The mushroom Ragu is amazing!5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat date nightI love La Tavola for a great date night and I've never been disappointed. It is always fantastic food and great service. The ambience is nice and intimate with a room full of people having a good time and conversations, but it is never too loud or distracting.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMLooks like a real italian trattoriaWe was there for Sunday brunch.
Good service, good food. The italian ham and salami are the best e found in Atlanta.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways AwesomeCelebrating our 12 year meetiversary just wouldn't have been the same anywhere else! The lamb ragu special and mushroom ragu was out of this world!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMla tavolawaiter a bit abrupt, but pleasant enough..portions way too small for the pricing ,excellent tastes...good choices, noise level on the higher side. hold the chocolate chips in the otherwise superb tiarimisu..5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the bestTime after time LaTavola continues to impress with unmatched food and service. Veal is outstanding, flat iron steal was more tender than filets from even fine steakhouses, pasta is always on point. Servers and managers all exhibit concern that you have the perfect experience. Will return soon.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA great meal every time!Fantastic evening - food was exquisite: black squid ink pasta dish was sheer perfection and the special pasta with a veal ragout was fabulous! Service was extremely attentive without being invasive. Great place to even come solo and have a wonderful meal at the bar! Love the deep red ceiling!4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAtlanta's BestYou must try the veal saltimbocca! Best entree in Atlanta4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMMegan was very helpful inMegan was very helpful in moving our reservation back 45 minutes when were realized that we would be late arriving from Chattanooga. Our waiter was very helpful in describing dishes and specials when we told him it was our first visit. I tried a dish I had never had as an experiment(imperial squid ink pasta and calamari)which was excellent. My wife had saltimbocca(sic?)that was also excellent.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOne word...AMAZING!La Tavola was such an amazing experience. My husband and I were running late for our dinner reservations and the hostess were SUPER accommodating for us. Once we finally arrived, we were catered to throughout our entire dinner. We had an amazing waiter, Jimmy who was very knowledgeable of the menu. Honestly, every entree on the menu sound so good, but my husband and I ended up getting the squid ink linguine with the veal and prosciutto entree... to die for! We had the braised cheek for an appetizer and the chef sampler for desert. The waiters/waitresses seem to work together, which is great! There doesn't seem to be one waiter/table, which allowed us to see a variety of personalities (all were great). We will definitely be BACK!!!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat First Date SpotTavola was just a super experience. Ambience, Food & Service were all excellent and they took great care of us. They even surprised us with a wonderful Tiramisu desert for my girlfriend's birthday. And it was on them! We'll be back!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was delicious. IThe food was delicious. I particularly love the bruschetta (lemony-ricotta goodness with savory greens). The service was excellent. I can't wait to return for their summer menu.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMA fabulous spot. Menu hitA fabulous spot. Menu hit all the right notes, combining Italian notables with some cutting edge touches and local ingredients.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMNeighborhood gemEverything we ordered was spectacular. The salumi plate with crusty bread was so thinly sliced it melt in your mouth. We each had a salad: roasted beets with arugula and roasted artichoke with arugula. Both salads sang in our mouths. My husband had he fungi fettuccini while I had the black squid ink pasta with calamari. So tasty! Everything was perfectly seasoned. The flourless chocolate cake with olive oil and salt ended evening on a sweet note. Great service but my only complaint is the place is reay tight and unless you have a booth, you're in the middle of lots of traffic.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe came here for date nightWe came here for date night and had a wonderful time. The food from beginning to end was superb. We started with the duck sausage and it was wonderful. Our main entrees were both fabulous but we thought the flat iron steak was just perfect. We ended the meal with the cheesecake and flourless chocolate cake and again they were outstanding like the rest of the meal. The wine menu was very good and my lemonade cocktail was great. The atmosphere was very nice and cozy. It is a smaller restaurant which we enjoyed. The staff all seemed to pay attention to details and everything was handled great. We went on a Saturday evening and it stayed busy so I would recommend making reservations. We would highly recommend this restaurant!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMNot your ordinary Italian restauranGreat restaurant with a family own atmosphere yet great food. Dishes are not your ordinary Italian restaurant options. Everything I have tried has been carefully prepared and very tasty.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSmall restaurant that buzzesSmall restaurant that buzzes with activity. Although tables are somewhat close together, it's a fun, quasi-be seen place with a fun atmosphere. This might not be the place if you're looking for a quiet, romantic dinner, but the food is consistenly delicious. Tagliatelle bolognese and Tagliolini w/mushroom rago were excellent. If you want a pasta fix worth every calorie, this is the place. Try to get a booth if you can, or opt for outside 2nd floor seating out back if the weather is appropriate. Waiters are definitely knowledgeable about the wine and entrees.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food (with unique andGreat food (with unique and exciting aspects), excellent service for our gropup of six for a business dinner. Slightly crowded and a little loud -- but clearly excusable given the quality of the food and service.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food as always was fabulous,The food as always was fabulous, and the ambience and the seating on the patio was just perfect for the weekend weather. The lady who seated us when we came in was gracious and really friendly. The only negative that day was a very attitudal server named Chris who was practically rolling his eyes and giving us attitude when we made any request and even gave our orders from the time we sat down. The entire experience of good food, great patio and perfect weather was definitely detracted from with his condescending attitude, and seeming annoyance of having to wait on tables. He couldn't have been more rude, or seem more annoyed that he even had to work that day.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMLa Tavola never fails to impress.La Tavola never fails to impress. Food is incredible, and the service is perfection. The place is small, so not good for big groups, but for 2 or 4, it is perfect. Patio is nice all year, as they have heat in winter and fans in summer. Not for kids, great for romantic dinner.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat's not to love!?Our dinner was, hands down, the best Italian meal we've had since we were in Italy last fall! Our waitress, Jennifer, was friendly, well trained, professional...and obviously, a true foodie:) She was a delight! Thanks for making my husband's birthday dinner such a special evening. Time and time again La Tavola impresses us with the food, the wine list, the wait staff.... there's an 'excitement' in the air- a great spot!4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently fine dining experienceConsistently fine dining experience. Service uniformly wonderful. The veal meatballs to die for. The appetizers are creative and excellent. Always a great dinner.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMgood food and ambianceThe Calamari appetizer was out of this world. Very different. And a must try! The service.....not so great. The young man had a real attitude; condescending and unhelpful.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch was delightful!Brunch was delightful. We went to brunch on Easter and the food selections were excellent, tasty. The Service was on point. Although the restaurant was crowded, it really helped to have a reservation with preferences through Open Table.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our favorite AtlantaOne of our favorite Atlanta restaurants, La Tavola is welcoming, cozy and comfortable and the food and wine is always a pleasure.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMJohn was wonderful. Never a disappointment!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperior ServiceWe live in the neighborhood and frequent La Tavola because we enjoy the food and atmosphere so much. This time was no exception except for the service. The service is normally good, but this time is was over-the-top-GREAT. Sidney took care of us and basically was perfect. We will be back and our fingers are crossed Sidney is working that night!3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent! I did see a reviewExcellent! I did see a review saying the food has slipped since the definitely gifted chef Craig Richards moved restaurants. There has been some variation in recipes but honestly the new team still hits the same high bar Craig set. For us it is the most consistently good restaurant in Atl.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMLa Tavola is truly a neighborhoodLa Tavola is truly a neighborhood gem. It never disappoints in food or service. They hosted a dine out event for our preschool and everyone was so enthusiastic about the event - the manager, hostess and server were all very supportive. I had the mushroom ragu pasta and it was perfection - so tasty. I noticed it was a very popular dish. The thing I'd like to highlight the most is that my husband was not feeling well and had to cancel his order. So they brought him some gelato - very nice and very much appreciated! Thanks!3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing. Every. Single. Time.Amazing. Every. Single. Time. Just go, and find out for yourself.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMExceptionalThey never disappoint. Great people. Wonderful food. Well managed. Alwyas a delightful experience.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAMAZINGLa Tavola is my place to bring people that I want to impress with the food in Atlanta. We have had guests from Italy and France and they have loved it so much that they have asked us to go back again. My French father in law though that the steak and polenta was fantastic, my mother in law loved the salmon crostini, my Italian brither in law gave the big thumbs up to the pork milanese and my 3yr old gobbles down all their pasta and all the meats (steak, duck sausage, ...). The staff is great and they treat the dining couple (we have been there for romantic anniversary dinners) and the big family groups (part of 6, including 3 year old toddler and 2months old baby). If you can try any of their special events: tomato fest, La grassa3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMSarah was a great server.Sarah was a great server. The staff is always helpful, knowledgable, and friendly. Bravo La Tavola!!!3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMUnique and deliciousEach time I've eaten at La Tavola I've loved what I've ordered, and have devoured every bite. Most recently I had the olives - salty perfection, the tagliatele bolognese - rich and savory, and the Meyer lemon cake - so moist and refreshing. My husband introduced me to this restaurant years ago and it is remains one of my favorite in the city.2/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways primo!Consistently great food and service always make La Tavola a meaningful dining experience.12/27/2012 12:00:00 AM
