I have been to this restaurant many times and every time it has been a wonderful experience. The service is great and the atmosphere can not be beat. This time it was a lunch with my 2 nieces and we enjoyed it very much. One niece had the caprese and it was so good, tasty, but not overpowering on the "dressing". My other niece and I's food was just as tasty and all the food was presented in an eye appealing way. As I said the taste did not disappoint either. Service there is courteous, swift and they can not do enough for you. Smiling service, great food, lovely atmosphere, who could ask for more???

Though I was super excited to treat my family to this upscale restaurant I feel my money was better spent elsewhere. Everything is alcarte I'm sorry but seasoned mashed potatoes are not worth 8.00 nor are a small portion of french fries. My steak was overcooked but since my 12 year old was already dissapointed in the menu choices and the food took such a long time we just ate. No this restaurant did not live up to its reputation. All you are paying for is eating at the Broadmore. I had a far better Ribeye dinner at a bar and grill in Manitou Springs for much less.

We love eating here every time we visit Colorado Springs. It's a must if you've never been here. We had a nice shrimp cocktail for starters. We also enjoyed some nice cocktails. My husband and son ordered rib eyes that were great and I ordered the pork chop that is so outstanding. We love this place because it is always great. We also had very good service. Thanks

Too expensive for the quality food. The crab salad appetizer was so overdone with mayonnaise that it could have tuna rather than crab. Tasted like tuna. The rib-eye was chewy.

The service is great, but the side items are small. The side salad is very small, and only a few greens; no accompaniments. At least offer a choice for a side. The sandwiches are great, and so are the drinks.

Saved our "special" evening for the end...we've been living in Woodland Park for 16 years and are now moving back to Virginia (birth of a grandson was the tipping point). Leaving in October, so wanted to celebrate a great run by having dinner and dancing at the region's quintessential resort. Had a great time and were, as usual, treated like royalty. The menu is superb and the dinner was stupendous. Enjoyed the band as well. Great evening all around. We'll be back for a visit and will drop by the Broadmoor again for sure.

The Broadmoor is so beautiful but La Taverne was a little disappointing. The set up is a little weird and the food was just okay. However, our server (Leonard) was a pleasure. The filet mignon was tender and cooked as requested, but no seasoning or taste to it. No background music playing in the restaurant until the band started at 8 pm. Also, I was told 7 pm was sold out so we made a reservation at 7:30. We arrived at 7:10 pm expecting to have to wait in the bar, but there were at least 12-15 tables available. Probably wouldn't return to this restaurant but would definitely return to The Broadmoor.

The Broadmoor is a special place in my own backyard. La Taverne is where my husband and I like to get to on special occasions, and a place we know we can take the family for a special treat. The food and service is always outstanding, and the time spent strolling around the lake provides an extra bonus. Colorado Springs is fortunate to have this hotel and all it offers as something we can call our own.

My husband grew up in Colorado Springs. Each time we return for a visit, we have to go to The Tavern, as we call it, for a good meal and old times sake. It is always fun, the food is excellent, and the service so very personal. He loves the roast beef, which is very hard to find in most restaurants. It was magnificent in his opinion. My trout was also exceptional.. There's no place like the Broadmoor!

We dined here during their "Dine at Dusk" early-bird special. Between 5 and 6 pm La Taverne has a 3 course meal for $30/person. It's a great deal seeing as the entrees themselves are approaching $30 at the cheapest. The service was friendly, the food was perfect, and the drinks were top-notch.

When one enters the restaurant, it can be a bit off-putting. It seems dark and dreary and dated. As one moves through, one enters another schizophrenic and icky area, before finally entering the atrium with a cool chandelier and light and airy space (the previous two are really dark and dreary). The ambience is just weird, and they need to decide what they are going to be in order to provide a pleasant experience for diners (I vote for the light and airy). On the plus side: outstanding wiener schnitzel and cold potato salad - could've been made in Vienna. A wait staff that really tried to please. A perfect champagne cocktail. Just a really weird atmosphere that was so out of sync with a fabulous, gracious hotel! I don't know....

We were there to celebrate our 40th anniversary and found ourselves seated next to a stage and dance floor. Had hoped to be more intimate/quiet. The steaks were wonderful, the whole meal was very good and I would return to do it again. Would recommend the filet to anyone and my wife loved her prime rib. Watching the elderly couples dance, once the live entertainment began, was fun. We went to dine romantically, not dance. Otherwise the evening would have been more enjoyable. Thank you for asking for our input.

We were spending an evening out, just a date with my wife. Having eaten at La Taverne before, we knew the food would be good. Our server, Kris, and her manager, Caleb, knew my wife's wine preference and had a glass already on the way she we were seated. Dinner was fabulous. The best shrimp cocktail around. I had the scallops. They were perfectly cooked, none of that gritty taste that even most seafood restaurants have. We finished our meal with creme brûlée, which isn't even on the menu. This will definitely continue to be our go-to date night restaurant.

Very noisy in the garden area and not much fun trying to yell at my dining mates to be heard. Service was good and friendly, but the servers seemed a bit overwhelmed by the crowd. My Dover Sole was a bit rubbery--food was average. I would suggest anyone making reservations ask for the area adjacent to the garden area--seemed to be a nicer place to eat. The experience was disappointing.

It's our first time in Colorado and broadmoor hotel is one of the tourist attraction in our list. The view is incredible, great hotel. We booked our reservation at the la taverne and requested a good seat in the garden room which was given to us when we checked in. The place was great didn't really actually like the food. The trout was salty, the rib eye steak doesn't have any flavor as well as the lamb rack, not compared to high end restaurants in Beverly Hills, California, the food here is not really appealing.
