Had a reservation for 6 on Sunday.
First table was terrible, had to request another table. They only gave us two menus for six people, we actually had to ask for menus! Then we got a whole spiel about how we should do one of their party platters because it's easier for the restaurant to serve us with a fixed-price preselected menu and not as many plates to bring out. Um, I'm sorry, I came to your restaurant to eat a meal that I want to eat, not to make your life easier. Our water glasses didn't get touched once unless we asked, and we waited 45 minutes between ordering and receiving our food for every round. We were still hungry and would have gotten a third round but at that point we were fed up with having to wait forever for each plate."

Overall my husband and I had a
satisfying experience at la tasca. Will come back!"

My wife and I took our eldest son
for his birthday to the Tasca on Wilson Blvd. in Arlington. We orderd and waited but nothing came out. Then the tapas came all at once. But they were cold. I mentioned the cold dishes to our server. He replied that the kitchen is on the third floor so it's a hike--I think the carriers also waited to make just one trip. I noted that when we ate at the Tapas near the Verizon center, which was a good experience the waiter brought bread and olive oil. He said that if we want some, he'll bring it. Overall, it was not a good experience. I would rank the Tasca in Arlington as a one star and a negative in terms of our son's birthday."

The food was very good, and the
service was good too right up until they asked us to leave because they needed the table. I guess that's just Clarendon on a Saturday night. This was our second time at La Tasca, and it appears to always be pretty loud--not so much that it's unpleasant, but don't go there for a quiet and intimate dinner. The tapas is quite good, and sharing it around the table makes for a fun evening."
Dined on 2/8/2014
Food was good, service attentive,
table was about as poor a selection as one could get in the place and there were lots of much better open tables."
Dined on 2/7/2014
I always enjoying dining at La
Tasca - the sangria is always flavorful, and the rich variety of meat, seafood and vegetarian tapas make it suitable for anyone's particular dietary needs."
Dined on 1/31/2014
Noisy, fun environment, perfect
for groups. also great because people can pick and choose what they want and share, which is fun. food isnt the best in the world, but its pretty good. nothing was bad. and not outrageously priced like most tapas places. best part was i got a table for 10 reservation on a sat night like two days before."

Had a wonderful time with a large
group of girlfriends. The ambience is beautiful. Food was authentic and delicious. Glad we went during Restaurant Week."
Dined on 1/25/2014
We went for DC Restaurant week,
and we got 3 tapas each and a glass of sangria. It was a decent deal and the tapas were good. Nothing spectacular, but the atmosphere was great and the restaurant itself is beautiful. It was definitely a fun group experience, and we really enjoyed our experience there."
Dined on 1/24/2014
It was a post snowy night so not
to busy. The table was away from door but still very chilly. Decided to go for Restaurant week- 3 tapas that were delicious. The steak was very tender and a good sized portion of shrimp. Loved the white wine with peaches sangria, and dessert all for $35.00 - seemed like a good intro to tapas for a friend of mine."

We went there for our one year
anniversary and were not disappointed. The food is always delicious and the portions are just right for tapas. Their sangria is so good, all of them! The servers are attentive and timely. It's always a pleasure to dine at La Tasca and I recommend it to all my friends."
Dined on 1/16/2014
Food was delicious but the place
is HUGE. It was packed and our server was really busy. Not to mention, it was loud!"
Dined on 1/17/2014
Perfect lunch offering for
restaurant week. Always a joy to eat at."
Dined on 1/19/2014
I suggested La Tasca to a group of
friends and we were thrilled when we realized they were running a restaurant week special! We were each able to order three tapas, a dessert, and a glass of wine or sangria for $35 each! Everything was delicious and it was the perfect number of plates."
Dined on 1/18/2014
Not sure if this was a restaurant
or OpenTable issue, but the reservation time we made on OpenTable was not honored at La Tasca. They called and let us know they had to delay our reservation by a half hour. Not a huge problem, but did think it was an issue worth bringing up. But the dining experience, as always at La Tasca, was wonderful. They have a great Restaurant Week menu."

I needed a last minute place to
meet my mom for dinner and picked La Tasca. I always enjoy their food and delicious sangria. We really enjoyed their Restaurant Week menu and the calypso dancers were a very special treat! Overall, I always enjoy my experiences at La Tasca."
Dined on 1/17/2014
First time at this restaurant, and
it was a very pleasant dining experience! Food was done just right, especially the eggplant slices, wine was very good, definitely will return."
Dined on 1/15/2014
Went here for lunch during
Restaurant week so can't complain. Food was tasty; dessert (chocholate mousse) was amazing. Need to improve service."
Dined on 1/17/2014
They had a great Mother's Day
special going on and I brought my mom. She loved the atmosphere and the food. I've always loved the sangria here. I will definitely bring my mom here again some time."
Dined on 5/12/2013
We got the $33 per person for 2
rounds each of a selection of tapas. It was delicious, no doubt and just the right amount of food, but in the end it ended up being about 2 mid sized plates of tapas per person. This deal could be cheaper other wise it works out to nearly $17 a plate. That combined with the steep cost of sangria means our bill was about $67 per person, I think this included the tip. We had dined at Founding Farmers 2 nights prior and and had a feast of top quality product, for the same price including drinks. So a nice venue. A decent meal. But there is better value to be had."
Dined on 1/10/2014
This was our first time eating at
La Tasca. We were very pleased with our experience. The tapas portions were generous, the presentation and flavor of the food was wonderful and the variety of offerings on the menu makes us want to eat there again. The service was cheerful and attentive without being overbearing. We definitely recommend it!"
Dined on 1/12/2014
The food and service quality at La
Tasca seem to have gone down hill. I went for dinner with a friend on a Sunday around 6pm. The restaurant was pretty empty and it took over 45 minutes to receive our first order of tapas. The service was very slow as well, we had to track down our waiter several times to put in additional orders. Also, the sangria (I ordered the rosada) was very week and overly sweet. There are much better tapas places in the area, I won't be returning to La Tasca."
Dined on 1/12/2014
Great Tapas, Sangria & atmosphere!
Really loved our server, he was energetic and knowledgable ~ recommended some great dishes! Would go again!"

We went for NYE because the prix
fixe menu for evening looked good. I'm sure it was mainly because of the holiday but service was slow to get going. We had an 8:30 reservation, showed up early and were almost forgotten about at the bar. When we finally inquired about our table, we were seated. We then waited 15 minutes before we were greeted by anyone. My boyfriend ordered one of all the tapas on the menu. We were then bombarded by food. Some of it was cold. I now felt rushed. I had to ask for the bottle of wine which was included in their special. The waiter did try to make it up to us by buying a round of tequila shots. The music was good. And in all, it ended up being a good night. I'd really like to try it again on a non-holiday."

A wide variety of tapas and
several types of Sangria are available; all tapas selected by our group-of-four were tasty, and the Mango Sangria enjoyable."
Dined on 12/25/2013
We shared the Spanish tapas
tasting menu and liked it very much. About eight different dishes with a good mix of flavors"
Dined on 12/24/2013
Tapas are always great, and La
Tasca was spot on! The $28 pick 4 menu was a great bargain!"
Dined on 12/16/2013
This was my second time coming to
this restaurant. My first visit was great; however this time it was not good. The food we ordered "the paella" was so overcooked that the flavor was gone. I menu for a group is very confusing to understand. It does not help when the waitress makes it more confusing. I was very disappointed with this visit. I do not think I will be coming back."
Dined on 12/13/2013
Service was very good; the waiter
was knowledgeable about both food and wine. The room looks nice, and was quiet enough to make conversation easy. The wine list is not long, but there are quite a few nice choices. The tables for 4 are a small, making it hard to get two tapas per person on the table. We had mixed results with the food during this first-time visit. Most of the meat tapas were good to excellent, with the exception of one order of lamb, which was very dry. Several of the seafood dishes were disappointing. The shrimp dishes in particular used small, tasteless shrimp. The serving sizes were generous for tapas. I would recommend the restaurant to a friend, but I'd suggest ordering from the meat or veggie sections of the menu."
Dined on 11/30/2013
waitress forgot that we ordered a
second round of tapas and we ended up being there much longer than we had planned - by that time it wasn't busy so there really wasn't any excuse. we had some meat wrapped in bacon and the meat was extremely dry. other food was ok but nothing to write home about. probably will not go here again"
Dined on 11/23/2013
We have come to La Tasca in
Arlington several times for my wife's birthday and have always had a great experience. This time our kids came with us, and they were immediately greeted with a coloring placemat and crayons - always a plus for parents. My daughter has a severe dairy allergy (among other allergies) and the waitress was very familiar with the menu and its ingredients, and the kitchen made several modifications (some without us even having to ask) to ensure a safe and healthy meal. We will definitely be back."
Dined on 11/22/2013
Food is consistently very good,
likewise service is consistently very good. The sound level was an 11 the entire evening, which made sense when it was packed, but less sense when it was 70% empty. Near the end, I would have paid any amount of money for them to bring it down, my ears are still pounding 2 days later."
Dined on 11/22/2013
I could make better food from this
using frozen microwave food from Trader Joe's. The service was great and I had fun there, but the food was awful, entirely overpriced (um $8 for 4 squares of fried mozzarella stick???) Will not be back."
Dined on 11/15/2013
My husband and I have dined at the
La Tasca in downtown DC, but this time we knew we would be eating with 2 kids, aged 3 & 11 months. My daughter thought the Arlington location would be more kid-friendly and she was right! We arrived around 6 PM and were seated at a lovely table near a window. The restaurant was spacious so we were not near anyone else. The service was good, and so was the food. A booster seat and high chair were made available. All in all, a great time was had by the adults and children!"
Dined on 11/16/2013
Interior felt like a Chilis and
the food was just so - so.... not exciting spanish tapas."
Dined on 11/10/2013
It started good with a nice
greeting arrival by the hostesses. But from there our dining experience was ok.. Server didn't explain the menu so we just ordered plenty tapas and a Paella. Food was ok but service definitely needs to get better, still we tipped the server 20% for his time.."

Delicious tapas and sangria!
Server brought out free dessert for the birthday girl and took photos for us. Very accommodating for groups. Huge menu with something for everyone."
Dined on 11/1/2013
The place was great
overall...loved the food, fast service and great view from the third floor!"
Dined on 10/27/2013
We had reservations for three. It
took 5 min to find a seat for the third guest. Wait staff were nice but seemed over tasked. We ordered the sampler; great variety but salty. Best dish was the lamb chop."
Dined on 10/26/2013
We were looking for a place where
six girlfriends could meet up to welcome back one of the group. This place is perfect! We got tapas and sangria for a mere $6 (until 4 p.m.) and the service was great; the food was great and so was the sangria! The food servers were attentive, but not overbearing and all in all we had a great time. I definitely need to take my husband there sometime soon."
