Cool vibe in the dining room. Service was good and spot on! Dined on mussel apps. Greek salad, specials of swordfish and lamb chop excellent, served hot and flavorful. Indulged in chocolate after diner dessert. Being on e 4th easy parking and lots going on! So we finished the night with cocktails on the patio and people watched! Great date night!

Birthday cocktails and dinner before show at house of blues. Patio was perfect. The host was friendly and johnny-on-the-spot clearing played and filling water. But our waitress was awesome. She had the patio to herself and mastered it. Just lovely!

We went for my friend's birthday because last time we were in town she fell in love with the meatballs. They were still there and she said still just as good. Everyone else enjoyed their dishes as well. The service last time was amazing, this time we felt forgotten about. Including when we asked for the checks and got no pens. Little things make a difference, and that was our last impression. We had to ask 2 people to get pens to sign our checks, neither of which was our server.

I can sum it up in a few major NEGATIVE bullet points: 1) No AC inside so we opted to sit outside (great opportunity to people watch though) 2) was seated next to the cigaret reciptical rather than other open seats. 3) Table did not have bread plates. Not so bad at first glance but our waitress failed to bring them when asked 4) Waitress was nowhere to be found to remind her we needed bread plates. 5) 30 minutes later waitress returns to take our order. 6) informed our server we had play tickets so our time was limited (60 minutes at this point) 7). Told hostess we were leaving after other tables around us received there food orders. 8) Will NEVER return. CLE & W 4th st area has great restaurants why slum it at La Strada

We have eaten here a few times and the food has mostly been good however the waite staff always seems short the bar slow to respond , the waitress said someone called off but this seems to be a trend with this restaurant seems like the bar staff is always slow or maybe the waitress is overworked food was good tonight and probably come back but the service needs to step up can't blame waitress have to think management doesn't judge restaurant needs very well all were congenial glad we allowed time to have delays before getting to our concert after dinner Wine list needs work.. we tasted before buying bottle and found out of three we tasted only one available it was the one didn't want Waitress found acceptable substitute not on menu

Restaurant was noisy due to open floor plan and concrete, steak overcooked, swordfish overcooked and our waitress didnt come back for 20 min.. Manager tried to offer free drinks as he was still trying to get a big bill out of us..they took back the steak and replaced with a piece of fish and charged us the whole $30.00. Maybe we need to avoid places with restaurant.com coupons. We would have ordered dessert but service was slow. In at 5:00 and out at 6:40 with just dinner..

I was visiting from Toronto, Ontario Canada for a Jays/Indians April 18-20, 2014 as well as my birthday and found this restaurant online near our hotel. We walked in to a great hostess, had our reservation and sat us immediately! We were lucky enough to have Pam as our server and the owner Terry was truly welcoming! Suggestive some great dishes and we couldn't have been happier, from the apps to entrees to dessert amazing and tasty! Would go back to La Strada for sure my next visit.

Believe all negative posts. How can you mess up chicken Marsala? Came poached no sauce and bland. When asked finally if it was ok I said no, no time to redo since it took forever, chef sent our some concoction of soy sauce and un-hydrated crunchy onions to be a replacement sauce. Horrible. Will never go back

cozy little restaurant with outdoor dining option located in vibrant east 4th district. charming interior decor and unique bar. service on our visit was poor, but this was the first visit and hopefully not representative of daily operations. our group shared hummus which was average. skip the wedding soup, but definitely try the eggplant starter. it's worth going back for and could be paired with a salad for a satisfying dinner.

I made reservations days in advance for my fiancé's birthday. We arrived precisely on time only to wait 20 minutes to be seated, even though we had a reservation. After we were seated, the waitress passed our table at least three times and said "we'll be right with you." After over fifteen minutes sitting at the table, no one had brought us water or taken our drink order, so we left. It was apparent it was a very busy night, likely because of the nice weather, but the restaurant was very, very understaffed. It was also EXTREMELY noisy in there. Not a place for a romantic evening. We have been to this restaurant before and have had great service and food. It's disappointing we had to have this experience, especially on my fiancé's birthday.

Our meal at La Strata was just fair; the salad was not the same as the description on the menu an our entree was not great. The food was OK but the service left much to be desired. It seems to us that if you are not ordering from the bar, the attention of the wait staff is negligible. We will not return and we will not recommend La Strada.

We got there at 5:30 and didn't get our food until 6:45. Our waitress was very busy and when we asked for things we didn't get them. We were on a time schedule and wanted to be out by 7:00 to get to Playhouse by 7:30 and we didn't finish paying and everything until 7:20. The food was good but the service was very poor. The waitress didn't seem to be bothered by the fact that she was not attentive either. The couple next to us got up and left after sitting there for over 15 minutes without even having anyone come to their table or bring them water.

Food was excellent!. We went mid week on a rainy night. When we (party of 5) arrived at 7:30pm there was only one other table of about 6 or 7 people. Place was very dark. By the time we left about 2 hours later there were maybe 10 people in the place. Although we came for the Italian food (which impressed one of our Italian born guests) I thought it was strange that the waiter said he only had 2 steaks left and if we wanted steak better order quickly. We passed on the steak. Seemed a little pricy, although we did order two bottles of wine over the course of the meal.

It took over 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us once we were seated, and we nearly left- the table next to us did. Luckily, when our waiter did surface, he was great, though the entire staff were running around like mad attempting to serve a full restaurant and a private party of 60 with just 4 servers in the entire place. If they're having a large event, the owner needs to bring in more staff as there were a lot of unhappy people that a staff that small could not possibly serve to the best of their ability, though they were trying. The bartender made me the wrong drink, and it was equivalent to gasoline, but I felt too bad for our waiter to even send it back. Food was very good, on a brighter note.

We arrived and the restaurant looked cute. We had reservations for 8:30 and were not seated until almost 9:15. We had a group of 10 so we sat at the bar. The bartender was unable to make their signature cocktails because the bar "was out" of many of the needed liquors. Finally after being seated the service was sub par. It took almost an hour and half for the main entrees to reach our table. When they did they were only "ok". The steaks were cooked to the right temperature but had a charred taste on the outside and the pasta needed salt. Again food was OK but not worth 15-35 dollars. From time in to time out of the restaurant was 3.25 hours- TO LONG. I would not recommend this restaurant in the future and our group will NOT be back.

When we first arrived at 6:45 on a Saturday night was quiet and empty. By 7:30 the place was packed. Our server did a excellent job considering her area was over seated. She had the balcony area and her one table of 9 grew to a table of 18. She was very friendly and knew her stuff but got overwhelmed. From what we could see the restaurant needs a few more servers. All of them were running around but had too May people to handle. Our food was very good.

We've been here a few times and its usually not very crowded. We usually get pretty good service and the food has been solid. This past weekend we had a reservation the day after valentines day. We got there right on time and they told us to go to the bar and have a drink. After waiting 20 minutes and hearing the couple next to us say they were waiting for a table and had been waiting over 45 minutes with a reservation we decided to leave. I think its mishaps and errors like that which keep this restaurant from being great. I would go again but things like this make me consider other places first.

The hostess was friendly and gladly seated us fifteen minutes prior to our reservation. The decor was simple, intimate with dim lighting, a single candle lit at every table. Even though it was Valentine's Day it wasn't crowed or super busy which we figured worked in our favor. Once seated, my husband and I were overlooked for a good 10 minutes, finally a waiter acknowledging us to get our drinks and orders he rarely checked on us, and didn't even offer to ask if we wanted complimentary bread (which we had no idea was being given) until we noticed another table nearby getting theirs. As for our main meals, the wait time was long due to someone taking our order to another table.

The food on Valentine's day was tremendous. Quite possibly the best calamari I've ever had. Melted in my mouth and the sauce was rich and fulfilling. The chicken parmigiana stood up against the standard. Service was not good for the the price points of this establishment. About 10 minutes after putting in our order and server asked if we had put in an appetizer order. Calamari took awhile to come out; entrees were right on it's heels. Had to request bread. Asked for a fruity wine and it was definitely a dry wine. Needed to break a bill and went to the bar and was told they had nothing smaller than twenties. Having tended bar for a good stretch myself this is unlikely.

Decor was more Mediterranean - Morcoccan themed. Prior reviews made reference to chairs that screech like fingernails on a chalkboard when slid in and out from the table. That issue persists. My wife and I both felt the food was good, but not exceptional. Given Cleveland's emerging reputation as a dining destination, I would have expected a little better from the lone Italian restaurant on Cleveland's "restaurant row." The music was too loud & did not fit the restaurant theme-too loud to talk! The waiter was a man of few words. Aloof to the point where we almost felt like he was doing us a favor by waiting on us. You don't have to be chatty and pretend to be my best friend, but, hey, makes us feel like you are glad we're there!!
