La Sosta EnotecaThe ambiance and the serviceThe ambiance and the service are great. The food price is completely out of range. Most pasta dishes are close to $30 and the entrees are between $40 to over $50. Those are prices of Michelin starred restaurant, not neighborhood Italian, no matter how great they are. We ended up with spending over $300 for 4 people with only two glasses of wine and having only a couple of appetizers we shared and pasta dishes. So we'd recommend this for a romantic dinner for two when you want to splurge, not for a family dinner. The outside of the restaurant doesn't look the part though.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAll around greatFood was excellent. Although I don't drink, everyone around me was, and said the wine list is excellent. Service was awesome.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this place! The atmosphere is the the best in LA. It's candle lighting makes you feel relaxed the moment you enter. It's small and quaint, great for dates, couples, friends eating out... The food is great, very authentic Italian, great wine selection and excellent wait service make it an exceptional dinning experience! PS: don't forget the profiteroles!! So good!!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved our experience atWe loved our experience at La Sosta Enoteca. We live just a few blocks away and had passed by many times, but had never had dinner their before. The food was delicious - we had proscuitto and burrata as an anti pasta, shared spaghetti with manilla clams as our primi and each had the sea bass - everything was perfect. The ambiance is simple, chic and romantic. The service was terrific. It was our anniversay and we were extremely happy to have celebrated it together at La Sosta Enoteca.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWhen we got there they wereWhen we got there they were running late. They immediately offered outside seating, but we passed on that, and they offered prosecco instead, and even seconds. Once we were seated at the amazing table at the front window, the staff made sure to get our orders out to us fast to make up for lost time. The service was incredible. With the delay in seating, it could of turned into a bad experience, but they instead took the opportunity to make it an incredible one. Thank you!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWay too expensive and theyWay too expensive and they don't allow you to bring you own wine which is not smart so therefore we didn't order as much food as we wanted. And they didn't have Barolo by the glass and the least expensive bottle was $110. So for that reason I will not go back. But food was good.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat local italian. A bitGreat local italian. A bit pricey. Christiano is a fantastic waiter. The service is great but not fast. Be ready to drink good wine and relax. Its a little trip to Italy.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMYou can't bring your own bottleYou can't bring your own bottle of wine, not even with a corkage fee. That is one of the things I love about California. Diners can bring their own wine to accompany their meal either for free, or pay a corkage. Not here!
The atmosphere is excellent but it gets loud and often, steamy hot in there. The veggies on the table to start are a good idea. The charcuterie was good but boring. There were no surprise treats that one would expect from an excellent chef. The quality was excellent, but the selection was "local grocery store" except for the truffle-honey. The honey was unique. I like the small portion sizes but for the price, many people would expect more. If you like profiteroles, they are delicious here.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been wanting to tryI have been wanting to try La Sosta Enoteca for years and was delighted to finally have the opportunity, it was fantastic!3/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
