A word from La Seine
La Seine is inspired by the legendary Seine River in Paris, where Chef Laurent Masliah grew up. It boasts luxurious leather seating, wood and stone floors, exposed brick walls and two fireplaces. All the food is homemade, from the passionate desserts to the freshly squeezed fruit juices found in the innovative specialty cocktails. Oenophiles will enjoy the wine dinners which pair up featured dishes with matching wines from the full bar. If you can't decide on only one item, there's a tasting menu to encourage your taste buds' adventurous side. Next time you're in Beverly Hills, make a point to stop - It's worth the splurge.

  • Great Alternative to Lawry's
    OpenTable Diner Since 2007

The steaks are great. The atmosphere is classy. One of the people in our group had eaten at Lawry's the previous night, and he felt that the meat here was superior.

After my wife order the special, BBQ short ribs she actualy got a slow cocked ribs with a 1/4" layer of BBQ sauce, after removing the heavy sauce the server came and asked how is the food? My wife told her that she was expecting a BBQ ribs with some BBQ sauce not a cocked ribs, she was in the mood for some meat of the grill. The best that the server did was "i am sorry" , and this is a nice fancy expensive restaurant, this for me not the way to serve patrons.

  • Not just a superb Kosher restaurant
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008VIP
    Dined on 6/9/2012
La Seine is not only a superb restaurant by Kosher standards, it is simply a superb restaurant. For those that do not know, Kosher restaurants will either be meat or dairy do to the dietary laws and La Seine is meat. However, this does not mean they are not amenable to adapt the menu for a vegetarian customers (it just means there will be no dairy product). Their is a true sense of artistry in every aspect of the food all the way down to plating. Many people will go simply because it is a "nice" Kosher restaurant though they don't have any particular interest as a foodie but this place is made for the latter. Great wine selection and a profoundly unique take on even the simple tomato soup. Btw, they are open late Saturdays!

Probably the best service I've ever had. Abde is the waiter to ask for -- he's wonderful. The food is excellent and the ambience is teriffic. This is an overall great, great restaurant -- and we eat out all the time. It happens to be Kosher, but those who are Kosher and not Kosher alike will love it -- it's teriffic and compares with the best out there (Kosher and Non-Kosher). Go !!!

Have been here a couple of times. Food was much better before. My cut of the 20oz bone in rib eye was not the best. Also, one of my guests that ordered rare lamb, received well done lamb. Maybe an off night.

Everything was delicious, and the environment was perfect for our recent date night. Our waiter was super friendly and quite knowledgeable of the menu. The steak tartar was tasty as was the rib-eye. The only negative was that once it started getting busy the food took a bit longer then expected to come out. It certainly didn't ruin the overall experience though and our waiter was quick to apologize for the inconvenience. Would definitely go back.

  • Mislead on Valentine's Day!
    OpenTable Diner Since 2007
    Dined on 2/14/2012
I went to La Seine for Valentine's Day. I booked on OpenTable, then called the restaurant directly to make sure there was not a pre fixed menu. They said no and that they would have their regular menu. When we were seated we were surprised to learn that it was in fact a pre fixed menu. Only two choice per course. I complained but told that we could not order off the regular menu. I felt mislead. Won't go back. Nothing special about this place.

Had a great New Year's Eve dinner, with a six course menu, great bottle of French wine and live music. Best kosher restaurant I've been to, but you don't need to keep kosher to eat here. This place can compete with all the non-kosher, upscale restaurants around. The quality of the food was incredible and the service was impeccable. Would definitely go back.

we have been to this restaurant many times and with no exception , this saturday was quite busy, however, we ordered an item and it was brought different to the ususal format, and then they said they would check on it and noone came back till the end of the evening. needless to say, their seemed to be some disorganization in the kitchen and relaying it to the servers. The waitor should have expelained that the item would be different not just bring it and assume that we would accept it. In additon,we would suggest that they add a cappucino machine. Otherswise we had a lovely evening.

My first time at the restaurant, and it was a very good experience..we all loved it! I will recommend this venue to friends. We were a party of 10 and sat at a booth on a long table, although there were round tables able to accommodate 10, we preferred the closer seating arrangement. I would definitely return!

I previously had gone for dinner and enjoyed it. It is a beautiful place. However, lunch was a disaster. It was extremely hot, and they would not put on the air conditioning until we had to ask three times. The place is big and with open windows, but that is no excuse to leave guests sweating from the heat at these prices, in order to save a few dollars on air conditioning. It took over 30 minutes to get our lunches, which were just two salads and a hamburger, even though the restaurant was almost empty. The burger, ordered medium, arrived well-done. While we waited in 90+ degree heat, there was no bread on the table and they could not make a bloody mary. The desserts were good and arrived without a big delay.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2008VIP

If you keep kosher, you don't have that many restaurants to choose from, so you might want to go to La Seine. If you don't keep Kosher, there is no reason to go here. The food is expensive, and the food is definitely not worth the price. The service was also not what you expect for such an expensive restaurant: they forgot two of our three appetizers, brought the wrong appetizer when they did remember, and kept us waiting a long time for our entrees. These things happen from time to time in restaurants, and we would have forgiven the lapses if our waiter checked in with us more often to let us know that we weren't forgotten. There were none of the little touches that make you feel special at a nice, expensive restaurant.
