  • "Great restaurant from the minute you walk in the door. You are greeted promptly ans seated without hesitation. This is our go to Italian restaurant, the service and food are always spot on. Owner/chef Niño comes around to make sure everyone is doing ok. I would recommend this place to everyone."

  • "Incredible service and outstanding food. We were in town for a convention and several people recommended it. I wouldn't miss this place! They even had shuttle service from our hotel to La Scala."

  • "We went to La Scala for our anniversary and it was perfect. The service was great. Our appetizer came out right away and our water was being filled before it was even finished. The food was delicious and the restaurant was clean. The staff were friendly and inviting from the moment we walked in until the moment we left."

  • "When we asked the concierge at our hotel for a restaurant recommendation she told us "La Scala" without hesitation, when we consulted Trip Advisor the restaurant also received wonderful accolades......after experiencing this wonderful gem we completely agree! The ambience, food and food were all fabulous.....you must try there warm Caesar salad (ask for a 1/2 portion...it is plenty big enough), and the chef's mother makes the homemade cannolis....an added bonus was the bocce ball court as you entered the restaurant ....after we ate we had a great time playing a game with our teenage kids!"

  • "This restaurant was recommended by someone who has been there many times. It has charming decor and a quiet indoor bocci court which you can overlook. It is casual but lovely. However, the one time that I visited, we had a very glum waiter, barely talked, offered no help when asked for a recommendation. The brochetta was excellent, but the veal parmesan was loaded down with cheese (you could barely taste the veal), and the penne pasta was overcooked, and both items did not have enough sauce. Coming from NY, I KNOW good Italian food. The person who recommended La Scala assured me that this was just an off night, or an off meal, and so I will give them another try."

  • "Like other reviewers, I was here for a special occasion celebrating my anniversary. The anniversary card and complimentary champagne was a nice touch. I saw that others have gotten dessert on special occasions but I much preferred the champagne! There's a lot to choose from on the menu which made deciding very difficult! Once we finally made a decision the food was very delicious :) The service was fantastic. Attentive but not hovering so it was the perfect medium. I would definitely recommend La Scala to others."

  • "Nice quiet ambience for reacquainting with old friends. Our dinners were good. But too many menu choices were too rich for me in that they had cream in them. Although the restaurant wasn't busy at all, our waiter never came over to ask if we wanted coffee for dessert. After about 20 minutes we finally asked him about it."

  • "We made reservations. Yet we still waited for 30 minutes for a table. That's why they have indoor Bocce. Food was Ok but it wasn't good enough for the prices charged. Decor was kitsch-y."

  • "The service at La Scala was awesome and the food was very good. The manager made a recommendation for our entre' and it was great! This is a cool neighborhood gem. There entre' selection was extensive, so there is something for everyone."

  • "The food was awesome, tons of specials so no need to even look at the menu; just the huge wine list. The best part though was the service. Everyone, not just your server knew the wine you were drinking. They were a team that checked in often but not intrusive. I mentioned the dinner was an anniversary when I booked it online, not really expecting much. Maybe a decent table. We got congrats from the hostess, who then brought an envelope with a card signed by the owner/chef Niño with a nice Italian saying. We also got dessert with a candle at the end, but the card was the kicker for me. Good atmosphere, great food and better service. Do it...do it."

  • "Picked this restaurant for a special occasion and wrote a note on the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday. The hostess presented my boyfriend with a birthday card from the restaurant upon seating us! Our meal was beyond lovely and our server was very attentive as well. We were too stuffed for dessert after our delicious meal, but the server still brought us a small sliver of tiramisu to share, complete with a glowing candle on top! He even knew enough not to sing and make a big production! It was an understated, elegant, and touching end to our wonderful meal. We will definitely be coming back!"

  • "Food is usually very good. One of the largest filets I have ever seen. Better & larger than most steakhouses at a very competitive price. Bone in veal chop was outstanding."

  • "The Olive oil they bring with the bread is the best I have ever had! I would like to know the brand so I can order it at home. I ordered the Veal Francese and it had the perfect blend of sauce and seasoning. It came with a side of pasta with marinara that was simple but very tasty. I also ordered some garlic bread with mozzarella cheese and for my taste I like a little more garlic but it was still good dipped into the olive oil. I had a reservation at 5:45 and got there at 5:15 and was seated right away. It was quiet then a big group came in next to me and the noise level was raised a little but eventually they closed the door and it was nice and quiet again. If I am ever back in the Baltimore area I will definitely go back to this place!"

  • "Had the veal marsala while my boyfriend had the veal alla parmigiana. Even though I'm not a fan of veal or chicken parmesan, his dish was even better than mine - his veal was even more tender and not heavy at all. They both came with a side of penne pasta which was also so delicious. I like my pasta super al dente, and even though this was softer than I normally like, I actually thought the pasta was perfect. Portions are pretty large, and very filling. The table next to us requested things that were not on the menu and the accomodated without any problems. If you book ahead, you can ask for a nicer table upstairs (where we were) or outside. It was so romantic, I plan on going back again."

  • "This absolutely wonderful restaurant in little Italy is anabsolute gem. Service was impeccable. The veal dishes were so tender and flavorful. Worst thing I can say is , it's hard to decide on what to eat, so many great choices."

  • "Baltimore's "Little Italy's" LaScala is a gem, the perfect Italian Restaurant. Families having fun, romantic diners at a corner table and even a bocce ball court in the entrance. All this accompanied by great food and attentive service."

  • "We really enjoyed the restaurant, the food and waiters. We didn't care for our table for 2 in the main level dining room. It is next to the stand where the gentleman accesses water, etc. and we felt it is in a poor location."

  • "We (A group of friends) take a guys trip to Baltimore every year and we visit La Scala every year we go. We have been going to La Scala for about 8 years now so this goes to show you they are great for one reason or another. One good reason is they have been there for a long time. They are also very good overall from the food to the service. If you haven't been to La Scala please check it out. "

  • "We dined at LaScala to celebrate my son's new job. The staff was very attentive. The grilled Caesar salad was delicious. The Spaghetti Puttanesca was tasty but the portion was small. We enjoyed the olive oil and bread. My husband thought that the meal was a bit too pricy but uniformly good. "

  • "La Scala offers an extensive menu of Italian dishes, pasta, as well as a wide array of assorted meats and cheeses. In addition to the full bar, there is a large wine list, sold mostly by the bottle. The space caters well to small groups for energetic social dinner gatherings. The management was very friendly but the wait staff was a bit stiff. The bocci ball court and social atmosphere made for a fun mix of casual and fine Italian dining. "

  • "LaScala was everything I had hoped it would be. The food was superb, the waiter knowledgeable and accommodating, and the overall experience pleasurable beyond words. I would highly recommend this jewel in Little Italy to anyone who might ask."

  • "Chose this restaurant as it was highly recommended on trip advisor. Meal was good not great. Service should have been better. Slow to refill drinks. Food is slow but was OK as we were not in a hurry. Asked about shrimp dish that was described as spicy. Was told was very spicy hot. Husband said didn't like spicy. 2 shrimp dishes were very similar, asked for recommendation. One had cognac one didn't. Waiter recommended one that didn't. It was so spicy husband could not eat it. Ate shrimp left pasta."

  • "This was a lovely dining experience. Went alone while travelling on business and sat at the bar. Met two charming gentlemen and have good conversation throughout dinner. Everyone was friendly and nice. The food was delicious. It was a veal ravioli with a tomato and cheese sauce. Perfect dinner and location for my last meal in Baltimore. "
