We are both picky when it comes to restaurants, and both of us absolutely loved the food! I had the salmon with spinach, sun dried tomatoes, squash, and zucchini served over pasta - delicious! We spent over an hour and a half eating chatting with our friends and didn't feel at all rushed. The waiter was very energetic and kind. He even found a place in the freezer for the ice cream that I had brought with me (not knowing we were going out to eat) and brought it back at the end of our meal :). He picked La Scala. It is a bit expensive for us typically (the other times we'd visited we'd been treated by friends) but since it was a special day it was fine. He ordered the chef's special and loved it, while I had a fruity salad for which they were very accommodating, adding and removing items. Our server was sweet and helpful with the menu, and overall we have a marvelous time. It did ring up to be a bit expensive, but the quality of the food is worth every dime. It's somewhere to go in town for a nicer, delicious meal. It was a delight in every way. Our special occasion was elegant, the service and professionalism of the servers was superb, the food offerings were more extensive than we could have imagined in a small family-owned establishment, and the quality and quantity of the food was impressive. We will definitely go there again, perhaps to try their lunch menu. La Scala is the exception. Nice varied menu. Gret commitment to sustainable farming for the meats and veggies. I have been here 2-3 times now. The veal saltimbocca and piccata is great. My Cioppino (seafood stew) was excellent and the other three diners had an outstanding Seafood Mediterranean ( shrimp and scallops sautéed with herbs and asparagus with a brandy cream sauce over linguini). We topped the meal off
with some authentic Gelato. Service was friendly and efficient. Ambiance enabled good quiet conversation at table.

They tend to pack you in like sardines at the dinner hour. We were recently there for my husband's birthday dinner, and were a little disappointed that they would not honor the birthday dessert offer that they had emailed us, because we had not printed it out on a piece of paper. Their theory is that people can present the coupon on a smart phone as many times as they want, but they would only print it out once, so requiring a paper copy would keep people from cheating. If we went to La Scala together, you and I, I would force you to get the sorbet truffle. It is the best dessert you will ever have. The bread with the meal is amazing, and the menu is broad and everything we have ordered has been tremendous. Do not order an appetizer! The online reservation system was incredibly efficient and easy to use. Make sure to reserve a table early, as they do go quick! Being from New York and of good Italian stock, I'm very cautious when I try new Italian restaurants. I've eaten at some of the best Italian joints in NYC, and I have to say, La Scala competes hands down. I ordered Antonella's Favorite with a cannolo for dessert. The portions are gracious, the ingredients are top notch, and staff is friendly, even if you are the last table of the night.
