Diner Reviews
  • "Aside from a host/hostess issue -- we had a reservation, and were greeted but forgotten - we stood at the door while another couple who came in after us was greeted and seated. After about ten minutes, we took seats at the bar. The bartender was very busy, but very pleasant and gave us good service. We had a seafood stew special that was very flavorful and fresh, and the arugula and roasted beet salad was wonderful. Our martinis were delicious and we had a very nice time. Our previous experiences at La Rambla were very good."

  • "The food here is very unique and delicious! The wine and the service are also great. It is tucked away in eclectic downtown McMinnville, OR and is one of the best restaurants in the area. Since it isn't a very large place, I love being able to book a table online."

  • "The tapas were tasty with an interesting variety for us to sample. The wine list is comprehensive. Our Monday nite dinner was excellent."

  • "I took my wife here last Saturday night for a start to a evening out. When we arrived the restaurant was completely full except the table that we had reserved. Even though the restaurant was at capacity our service was exceptional. The cocktails where wonderful, done perfectly. My only knock on the place is that the food is a little on the salty side. It may be that I dont know a lot about spanish food and perhaps i didn't order wisely. I loved the shrimp app. I will be going back."

  • "Overall we liked this place a lot. They have a nice wine selection at pretty decent prices, the food was really good, and the service was excellent. Definitely try the paella, it is probably one of the best we've had in the US, and the 45-minute wait is totally worth it."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Food was amazing. Atmosphere appropriate for a Chic Spanish Bistro. The food is definitely sourced from local region. Creative menu. Wish I could have tried one of the cocktails, but was designated driver. Amazing restaurant in the heart of McMinnville."

  • "There was a wonderful review of this restaurant that stated how good their Chicerones are, so we drove an hour to get there. Unfortunately the Chef that was responsible for this dish has since moved on. However we found the rest of the food to be a delight. Both my wife and our granddaughter enjoyed there meals and tried several small plates, and all loved the paella. Every dish was delicious and the service was outstanding. We are fortunate to have so many good restaurants in Oregon wine country and I include La Rambla as one of them."

  • "Really enjoyed the tapas choices and found a couple more wines to add to our favorites list. Felt like we were well taken care of with the exception of missing one order placement (45 min prep on the paella). Will definitely be back to enjoy this place again."

  • "Having eaten at La Rambla many times, there were no surprises because they maintain a high standard - varied menu, excellently prepared, a diverse wine selection in a cozy atmosphere with attentive but not fawning service. I'll keep coming back!"

  • "La Rambla never disappoints; my favorite restaurant in town. Rumor has it they opened up a new place next door?"

  • "Very disappointed in my latest meal here. The quality and service both have both been dropping over the last few visits. I won't be going back to what was a favorite spot for tapas. The paella was missing chorizo (second time this has happened.) The servers were pleasant but failed to check in with us for long stretches of time. Have to look for a new tapas place...."

  • "Fantastic service, food, experience. The Tapas are amazing. No need to try the dinner menu. We had the cheese plate with 5 different cheeses (I asked the waitress to choose as I had no idea what was what) and they were all fantastic, as were the shrimp, lamb meatballs and the stuffed pepper tapas. I can't wait to go back! This restaurant alone is a reason to visit McMinnville!"

  • "Let's start with the good- the food. the tapas were good. The salads were tasty. That's about where the good ends. Our server, while pleasant, provided poor service. In fact, even though multiple servers commented they would come back with more water, it took 20 minutes! I had to ask our server multiple times. They pack you in at tables so close, they actually shift tables just to let you get out. I heard two couples ( that didn't know each other) actually introduce themselves because the tables were so close it was as if they were dining together! This was not the experience I had expected. We came from out of town and had heard the food was good. Unfortunately, the entire experience overshadowed the food. I definitely would not go back."

  • "We made a reservation for Valentines Weekend and enjoyed the option of a set menu with wine pairings. As we arrived, every table was full and we had to wait about 30 minutes for a table to clear for us. We decided to wait at the bar and try a cocktail. This was a big mistake. Both my husband and I received cocktails that were not representational of the description in the menu, and were missing key ingredients. I will never have a drink here again. I highly recommend the food and wine and the service was great. I just think they were overwhelmed with the number of people they were trying to serve, and I am not sure that the person behind the bar was competent. I would come back any time."

  • "Food was good, other service was debatable. A person in our group was served a drink in a glass that had a chip right on the sipping edge. We told the waitress who didn't replace it until the 2nd time we told her. The drink was poured into a new glass which also had a chip it in... A guy at the next table had a chipped one as well. Not a dealbreaker, but pretty poor regardless."

  • "We have been to this restaurant several times and enjoyed our experience. This time we were disappointed to be seated at a table for two with another table next to us with no space in between. The waitress had to move the table so I could get out and go to the rest room. If I wanted to be that close to another couple, I would have invited them to dinner with us! And we had reservations. When we return, we will reserve a window table."

  • "Outstanding service and goi but not great food. Pricey and the paella was too salty."

  • "The food is incredibly tasty, rich and well prepared. If you love flavorful food with the Spanish influences using NW foods, you will love this place. The price is reasonable, the wine selection is good, service professional and food delicious. Take your time, this is not a place to hurry. Pork and lamb are the favored food items from which the menu develops. I can't say enough for the variety and prep quality. Ambience is casual but refined, pleasant without being cliche. This is a great place to wind-up before wine tasting or a follow-up to a day in the vineyards. Make the effort and go to this restaurant."

  • "Enjoyable tapas in a relaxed setting. I found the lamb meatballs a little spicy, but I am perhaps overly sentitive. Service was great, attentive and made great recommendations of choices. Did have to keep requesting more water, again with the spice sentitivity. Plus, I was meeting with a dear old friend so the company was outstanding, but nice to have a place for a long leisurely dinner to catch up."

  • "This restaurant is awesome for adult dinner; the night environment is elegant and warm. It is pricy, but I think it was worthy. I really enjoy the paella dish. Also have a very large wine list."

  • "My friend and I went here for her birthday dinner, just the two of us, on a very quiet and slightly snowy Saturday night. We split the pasta special of the day, which was amazing (involving slices of truffles and beef over pasta), and the seafood paella, which was very good. We also had an inexpensive bottle of Rioja, which was great. Dessert was a chocolate bomb of a cake (delicious!) with a thoughtful birthday candle."

  • "Great food and great service. Cheese plate was fantastic, bleu cheese was pretty strong but overall was great. Food comes out hot and so flavorful. Didn't ever have to ask to have my water refilled and let us enjoy our dinner. Ambiance was relaxing and just loud enough for a private conversation! Highly recommended."

  • "There is an impressive cocktail menu and the ones we sampled were expertly prepared. We ordered 8 or 9 small plates and each one was more wonderful than the one before - sauces, preparation - all showed great care and attention. Wait staff was also very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend La Rambla!"

  • "After driving by this restaurant a few times on trips to McMinnville, we finally decided to try it and wished we had gone sooner. We ordered 6 small portions of various tapas and they were all fabulous. It was obvious that much care and attention was given to the taste and appearance of each one. We had lamb, we had duck, we had housemade crackers and sweet potato chips, we had sauces and reductions...a real foodie's paradise. The only downside was that we just couldn't try all of them! (But we will when we go back several more times.) We finished off with a great panna cotta and a Spanish coffee. Almost forgot to mention that everyone was very friendly and our server, Ariel, was the best."

  • "We go to this restraunt EVERY time we go to McMinville, Or, which is once every year for the past 5. It is a fabulous place, great food, wine and the wait staff is outstanding, with recommendations and favorites and wonderful suggestions. Highly recommended and we would even go out of our way to try to get in."

  • "My big complaint is that more and more restaurants are allowing people to use their electronic devises in the dining area. We had a couple that had there lap top open and doing business. The screen was a major distraction and most people are too nice not to complain. However it may stop me from going there again. Thanks"

  • "A neighborhood gem! Wonderful hostess and server. Food was flavorful and abundant. Enjoyed the Spanish wine in lieu of the local wine we had been tasting. Would definitely return if we are in the area again."

  • "We came here with high hopes. Had read some good things.- and it looked very nice from the outside. Started well when we were 1 hour early for our reservations but they were able to seat us. Service was very casual to the point of being rough around the edges and inefficient. Food tasted very salty- and just average - nothing really special"

  • "La Rambla is a perfect way to end a day of wine tasting. Or, get some of their small plates to go and visit one of the many wineries where you can enjoy their view and a bottle of wine while taking a break from the rigors of wine tasting."

  • "Every single item we had was scrumptious, from my Red Hot Mama cocktail (ginger vodka AND habanero vodka!) to the chevre pannacotta. Each tapa was perfectly prepared, a lovely blend of Spanish and Oregonian influences. Best romesco sauce ever, great chili shrimp and an amazing seafood paella. Truly, every bite was astounding."

  • "We have dined at LaRambla many times over the years when visiting the McMinnville area, and it is always a pleasure. Our recent visit was a standout. The server was delightful, the wine list never disappoints, and the food was delicious. We started with the manchego cheese, which was served with truffled honey (crack!), toasted walnuts and sliced baguette. So good! We treated ourselves to the deep fried green beans with aioli, always worth the indulgence, and shared the seafood fideo dish, which was excellent! It was made with fresh pasta, spiked with smoked paprika and just the right amount of saffron, and the seafood was so fresh. We finished with a very nice slice of chocolate torte. Highly recommended!"
