La Rambla Restaurant & BarGreat Experience! We have been dining at La Rambla over several years while traveling between Portland and our home on the Oregon Coast. In addition to the friendly service and great ambience, we really enjoy the tapas menu. It offers small plates whereby we can order several items and experience a variety of foods. On this occasion, we arrived late for our reservation but were seated immediately, despite the fact that the restaurant was unexpectedly swamped. Apparently, a number of parties had arrived just before us. Understandably, it took a little longer than usual to be served, but our waitress was friendly and helpful. We had several small plates of tapas, and the food was outstanding! All in all, we had a very satisfying experience.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic small plates for sharingVery reasonably priced small plates, great for sharing with lots of variety. Extensive desert and drink menu, one interesting item is a sugar-free fruit flavored beverage. I had lemon and it was different then anything I have ever drank and tasted great.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious tapas creatively preparedEach dish was just a bit more interesting and flavorful than expected. Our waiter managed our large party perfectly. At the end of the meal, the bill was little more than half of what I expected.
The one small disappointment was the paella. If I'd had no expectations, it would have been a tasty dish. But I expect saffron to be a major flavor in paella. I tasted none.
Many of our party were so impressed that they were talking about it the next day. Great meal.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFlavorful & funWho would have thought, spanish tapas in the heart of Oregon wine country. La Rambla service staff was attentive and helpful. Every item we ordered was fresh, hot, visually appealing and tasty. Especially like the espana tortilla. The green beans we're terrific. The romesco sauce was delicious. The pealla my wife and i shared was not at all what we expected though. More creole than traditional. Tasty, if not a bit too salty, it was heavy on the smokey paprika and cayene. Smokey sweet savory with a little heat on the back end. A different spin. All entrees were beautifully complimented by yummy Oregon Pinot Noir. We'll definately return and would recommend La Rambla to anyone.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMOne word. Amazing.
From theOne word. Amazing.
From the very helpful and friendly staff, to the incredible homemade gingerbread ice cream, and everything in between, La Rambla was excellent! Great drinks, salads, tapas (the lamb nachos were particularly good), and incredible paella.
Our server was great, giving us neighborhood favorites to continue with on our trip as well as just being very friendly and helpful with our selections.
100% perfect selection! Would recommend to everyone!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFavoriteThis is the spot I choose for my Birthday every year. They always accommodate our large group and tolerate how loud 14 women can be. Really amazing cocktails too!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service was great! PaellaThe service was great! Paella was worth the wait!!4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe menu was excellent asThe menu was excellent as was the ambiance. A warm, cozy bar scene where you can linger over tapas and sangria. The scallops and lamb nachos were really good but the paella was disappointing. With 3 different paellas on the menu we thought we'd get the real thing (we had the seafood) but it was mostly rice with not much flavor. And the rice was not toasted and crunchy as it should be. Next time we would stick to tapas.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
