  • "La Provence was a Welcoming experience to our Meet n' Greet. A number of Classmates were meeting up to have a social gathering which is leading up to our 30th Class Reunion scheduled in August. The service was attentive, the variety of food options was favorable to all parties, the atmosphere was extremely pleasant, and appealing. A very relaxed gathering where we did not feel rushed, had the opportunity to discuss the upcoming events, and reminisce about the past. There was some confusion on our part regarding the number of individuals who were to be in attendance, however, the staff was very accommodating, and worked with our group. Definitely a place that I will visit again."

However, the lackluster service from the waitress and bus boys were really a high downer and food was hit and miss (some dishes good, some not good and others way overpriced). Probably wouldn't come back here for a while."

  • "We have been to La Provence many times on our Anniversary and always are treated well. The service is great, food is always great, and we love the atmosphere, very cozy. The restaurant is tucked away in kind of an orchard if you will, so it has a woodsy feel to it which makes outdoor dining very nice. We highly recommend it to anyone wanting a special dining experience, without all the noise and craziness that you find in so many other restaurants. It's very elegant but not stuffy. We simply love it."

  • "Just moved back to Roseville after being transfer for work. Couldn't wait to go back to La Provence. The hostesses are new and very friendly. Saw some new and old server faces. Our server was Jessika and she was very professional. We ordered off the Chef's menu and everything was excellent. On our way out, we stopped in the deli and Paul, the managing partner told us the story of how the owner now owns Icing on the cupcake. We, of course, had to buy 4. Thanks La Provence!"

Clean and a warm relaxed feeling to enjoy your moments in an almost setting being in France, for whatever occasion, Menu choices are excellent, to include deserts so you can certainly have a nice time, weather it is just two or larger group.....We will be back..."

  • "Was there for a special occasion about 1 1/2 years ago. It was great - menu choices were good, food was good. For our visit the other night, again a special occasion, found the menu lacking and confusing. Few desserts, etc. The food caliber was distinctly lower and was not as good as before. For spending that much money, I will make reservations elsewhere. I don't plan on taking guests here again. (Service was great). Noise level too loud - bar needs to be isolated more, they are very noisy. Music in background too loud. Food and menu lacking."

  • "The food was very good, and although the server was friendly, she was a bit out of her depth. Maybe they could have had an extra server or wait person helping? She did apologize for a longer than normal wait. We were not in any hurry, but as we were celebrating a birthday it would have been nice to get the correct birthday dessert to the person celebrating the birthday."

  • "We were incredibly impressed by this restaurant. It was elegant enough for a romantic evening, but also great for families, large groups, or just a single dining at the bar. The food was beyond amazing! The taste & textures of each individual dish were created to perfection! The lemon drops are a must try too! We will definitely be back soon! We'd love to go to a wedding at this venue also - it's perfect for the occasion!"

  • "Beautiful place & surrounding area. Menu is varied,good breads & jam to start. Crepes were burnt on edges and overall bland. Sauteed potatoes were way overcooked and dry and unedible for all of us. Was informed "there was nothing wrong with them, that is their style" (& they were not intended to be black).Crab cakes very dry; sauces on crepes and benedict were excellent. Unfortunately hot food was served on COLD plates! Cremr brulee excellent. Service was adequate. This place could be So much better with some attention and oversight in the kitchen! They get a Fair instead of a definite poor since the bakery part is excellent."

  • "We celebrate all our family events here and love that we only live a mile away. Great food, gorgeous Scenery and resturant. My only complaint would be we always request a table by the window in our online reservation and every time we go even if the resturant is empty we have to have them move us as they always put us in the inner dining room. The windows and trees are what make this resturant special and if I was the manager I would always put people by the windows first. The scenery is one of the reasons we keep coming back."

  • "Mediocre food, and very poor service...All appetizers and salads brought at same time...one salad not at all as described on menu...waiter stated that the recipe had changed, but the menu had not....extremely small amounts of bread and butter.. after twice requesting additional, a small amount of different bread without butter was provided. One in our group had ordered mussels and ended up with no bread for sauce. A beautiful restaurant, but don't let the ambiance fool you...... All in all, it is a very poor restaurant. We had been there for lunch a few weeks ago and it was also bad, but we had some coupons that we bought from Costco, so we had already spent the money. Will not return again and would not recommend it to anyone."

  • "3 friends from high school and their spouses met for dinner on a Saturday night. The food and service was wonderful. We had a nice table with a view of the patio. The Caesar salad is the best and I always order it. It was a first visit for some in the group, but my husband and myself have eaten there many times. Everyone said that they would return. The only problem was the noise level in the restaurant was so loud that it was hard to hear each other in our group of 6 although it has not been a problem when we were just a table for two. It always feels as though the chef is fixing the food with a eye for presentation and flavor. The portions are large as well."

  • "We were there for Sunday brunch. Our server was sloppy looking. She did not tell us about the special for the day. She served in a sloppy manner-for that amount of money I expect professional service. My husband's coffee cup was empty way too long. A plate that was put in front of me for use with the "starter" was still wet from washing and had puddles of standing water on it. And last, my husband's filet steak was dry and tasteless. Paul Martin's of Roseville and the steak house at Galleria far exceeds your restaurant. We were disappointed, as we had heard good things about La Provence and looked forward to our brunch. We won't be back."

  • "When the read the Chef's special dinner and wine paring, we thought this was something special. And it turned out even better than we had anticipated. I think part of it was we decided to go on a rainy Thursday evening. We were seated in a very nice booth. Even us 70ish people enjoy a little privacy from time to time. We spoke with a managing partner and he gave us some interesting things to think about in our future visits. Very nice meal and service."

  • "First off, they didn't seat us for 45 min after our reservations time. They close at 10 and our reservations were at 8:45. After we checked in at 8, 8:30, 8:45 and 9:00, we finally got seated at 9:30. We wanted to cancel the reservations and go somewhere else, but the manager told us it was a $75/each cancellation charge. We had to wait at the bar for 1.5 hours and forced to either just stand there or order drinks. So when we finally got seated, we were rushed through a $200 dinner and the food was subpar. you could tell that the food we received was the leftover small portions that were not already eaten by the onslaught of couples on Valentines day.. I would not recommend this place."

  • "Arrived early but we were seated over 20 minutes past our reservation time (which we had made 2 weeks prior). The only menu available was the special 3-course fixed price menu. The three starters to choose from were all different but none were appetizing. We both ordered the Filet as our entree but the piece of meat was small and not very good quality. The dessert was the best part of the meal, with both of our choices being very good. We have eaten here twice prior over the past two years and have decent experiences, including Valentine's Day last year (2013). At $75 a person, this was NOT a good experience this time and enough to say that we will not be going back to La Provence anytime in the future."

  • "Special mention goes to Jessica (Feb 14, 11:30 am lunch for two) and Justin (Feb 15, 11:30 lunch for four). Both of them took care of us real well to our utmost satisfaction. They did check on our needs every now and then. We can understand the service on Valentine's day was more hectic because of full house than the following day where there were hardly anyone lunching, five tables of guests at the most. We all had a good time on Feb 15 with our guests with the exception of one peculiar observation that we shared below in the form of a private note to the restaurant."

  • "Went to La Provence for Valentines dinner. Special pries fix menu @ $75 per person. Did not feel dinner was worth the price. Food was fine, not fantastic. The food server showed up with our entree before we were finished with our salads. No room on the table to keep both so, the bus boy took our salads away before we were finished. Then the bus boy showed up again and tried to take my wife's dinner before she was finished, she said she wasn't finished he asked her if she was sure she didn't want is boxed to take home, Seriously!?? I will go to a restaurant with great service and average food. When the food is average (+ expensive) and the service is poor, why go?"

  • "Hostesses were fine, but dismal night followed. Our reservations were at 9 but we were seated late, that was ok except for the fact we had a disappearing waitress. We waited a long time for our first course, watching 4 other couples that were seated after us receive theirs by their severs. Oyster on half shell was at room temperature Filet was ordered med-rare arrived med-well way over spiced. My venison was excellent but the mashed sweet potato was so salty it was inedible. No bread was served, only upon asking were we told that they had run out but cranberry bread was available. Some desserts were unavailable, ours looked like leftovers thrown together. With the disappearing server, we were the next to last to leave (9:00 Resv)"

About 1 1/2 hour before 18:30 on the day of the dinner "Paul" from La Provence called us, to inform us the dinner was prix-fix only. This should have been made much clearer on the reservation website. We decided to go ahead; We had a good dinner, However the $75 pp. without wine was overpriced."

  • "I've taken a class or two at La Provence and the food was always Exceptional. So, we went to La Provence for Valentine's Day and expected the same quality. The main courses on the Valentines Day Pris Fixe Dinner was disappointing. the Seven Hour Lamb was dry and tough, almost like a Chuck Roast. The Scallops in the CoquillesSt. Jacques was tough and rubbery to the palate. On a good note, the Wine list, was Superb, a Small Aperitif of Strawberry Puree with Goat Cheese (Excellent) and the Trio of Chocolate Desserts was absolutely Fabulous. And the Service was Very Good. My Son who is 17 years old and quite a Foodie said that we should have ordered the Filet Mignon Medallions, which he says are quite good. I think he was right."
