La Provence"Just For The Two Of Us"I am thankful for the dinning experience. The meal rested well on my palate. The atmosphere was condusive to the romantic evening that was planned for us. The atmoshpere was serene and cozy. It was beneficial for us to have away from home and family time. Thanks in abundance.
Looking forward to our return!!! Success and Favor to La Provence!!!

Totally recommend the Pims cup as your drink and the chocolate cake as your dessert.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMLa ProvinceExcellent dining. Food is wonderful and the service is excellent.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMCould not be better!Overall, the great restaurant, probably the best I ever visited.
Food is out of this world. Excellent selection of wines. Even kids (who like pizza and hamburgers) loved that food.
Particularly remarkable chicken level mousse (patte).6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place is PERFECT!A slice of the French countryside on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain. Worth the drive. Great for romantic dinner or any special occasion.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday brunchMy girlfriends and I all have a birthday around the same time. So we all do a lunch/dinner every year and this was a perfect choice wonderful food, outstanding service, lovely grounds and super cute pigs! Well worth the drive from NOLA!!!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent after-church brunchAs always, La Provence did not disappoint in its brunch. Everything was wondeful!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMLovelyEven though there were no vegetarian items on the menu, they were completely accommodating and made me something special and phenomenal. The vegetables were totally fresh, delicious, and cooked to perfection. It is rare to find a chef that knows what to do with vegetables, but here they were up to the challenge! My wine was pretty wonderful also.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome food. Wish they wouldAwesome food. Wish they would dim the lights more and play some soft music. The building itself and grounds are spectacular, just wish they'd make it feel a little more intimate in the dining room.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst Time ImpressionsThis restaurant provided an outstanding brunch dining experience and is highly recommended.
- Innovative, carefully prepared, delicious food
- Attentive, yet unobtrusive service
- Simple but elegant and inviting atmosphere
I look forward toward assessing all the La Provence offerings.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Dining ExperienceWe have been to LaProvence before and enjoyed it so we were excited to go back for our 10th Anniversary. This restaurant had a very cozy atmosphere and excellent customer service. The food was some of the best I ever had. Enjoyed everything about our dining experience.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful evening with friendsI've wanted to try La Provence for quite some time. When friends came to visit from Pennsylvania I decided that this would be a good occassion to try the restaurant. We were not disappointed! I especially enjoyed the Oyster and Artichoke salad and I thought the Aritchoke soup was exceptional. I wish we'd gotten there a little earlier so we could have wandered out to look at the farm. This is not a restaurant I could afford for regular dining, but I will definately be back for special occassions. Thank you Chef Erick and the service staff for making our evening very enjoyable.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day SpecialI took my wife there for Mother's Day. Overall it was a pleasant experience. However the Oysters ooo-la-la had a distinct fish taste. Oysters should taste like oysters; they should not taste like fish. I enjoyed the fired red fish. I ordered it by mistake because I don't eat fired foods. However, the fish was so lite and flakey that I really enjoyed it. I also like the Ponchatoula Strawberry Shortcake in a Jar...a very clever idea. The service was very good.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMothers day Seafood delightGreat meal! My wife and I had two different seafood dishes. Both had distinctly different toppings that were delicious. Soups were exceptionally good. Always a romantic venture for two.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMCelebrating Mom!!I spent Mother's Day with my husband and children at LaProvence. It is my favortite restuarant! The day was perfectly relaxed and the dining experience was superb! The menu offerings were, as always, difficult to narrow to one. We selected a variety to feast on and we were delighted with out selections. We also ventured to the rear of the property to visit with the pigs. It was an orverall enjoyable experience! Highly recommend to all!!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Mother's Day BrunchWe have been to this restaurant and it has been great every time. Mother's day brunch was different because they had a set menu. It was wonderful! I would highly recommend this restaurant.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day DelightOnce again we ventured to La Provence for another celebratory meal! Always feel transported to paradise, the moment I walk in the door. As always, the service was wonderful, and the food delightful. We are never disappointed and enjoy the fresh flavors in each dish!! Thanks for the beautiful rose, and the wonderful memories of that special day!!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMVery Good RestaurantThere were 4 of us and each had a wonderful experience. The fish was fresh, well prepared and very tasty. The "bread pudding" was the best I have had !! Not a typical bread puddding.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMLa ProvenceThis is just an absolutely excellent restaurant on nearly all counts. The dishes are unique and tasty, the service is courteous and warm, the ambience is pleasant (with natural light where we sat). The wine selection is not broad but good. There are chicken pens and herb gardens at the back.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat find!I loved the simple, yet elegant, feel of this place. Like being in an old French farmhouse. Pretty sure they grow/raise a lot of what you eat on the premises. Compact and beautiful bar with a large selection of great wine. Chose duck and asked the waiter to help me select a wine. He was knowledgeable and together we picked the perfect complement to my entree. Service was great, and food was extremely well presented and prepared. We were all tasting each others food when the hostess came over to see how we were doing. I thought she would scold us for sharing, but instead she commented that she wished all the diners would do the same! All in all a fabulous experience. Would highly recommend.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent EveningMy wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our waitress was outstanding. I had the crab bisque and it was the best I ever tasted. Everything was fantastic. Plan to return soon.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat PlaceWe always love going to La Provence. The food is very special and the service is wonderful. Everyone is always so friendly.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMJohn Besh hits another home run!My wife and I have had this resturant on our bucket list for sometime and I decided that we would check it out for our anniversary. John Besh is a familiar person down here and he cares about the area and the quality of the product he serves, so we had to check it out. We especially enjoyed the quail gumbo, what a treat! My wife had the tuna which was fabulous(cooked perfectly) and I had the duck that melted in your mouth.
The decor was very nice and the service was exceptional. Everyone was very attentive and if you asked for anything it was there in a split second.
Worth every nickel!
We will definetly be returning for another visit.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMLa Provence is absolutelyLa Provence is absolutely my favorite of John Besh's restaurants; we love going here for special occasions, romantic dinners, etc. The staff are so very friendly and the food - outstanding!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is one of our favoriteThis is one of our favorite restaurants in the New Orleans area. The food and service is outstanding. Everything is fresh, much of it grown right on the property. And the pate is excellent. If we didn't live 50 miles away, we'd go even more often.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMHave eaten here numerous timesHave eaten here numerous times and the food never fails to be other than excellence, this time the wait staff seemed tentative,as if they were all in training, not the level we have experienced in the past.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding Food, Great Atmosphere,Outstanding Food, Great Atmosphere, and Great Service. My wife and I can't wait to go back for more.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMJ Besh strikes againExcellent like all of John Besh's restaurants. Great dinner and the waitress was so nice because we were in no hurry. We were enjoying an evening out from our 18 Month old. Food was was fabulous!! Highly recommend4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMIncredible service, and justIncredible service, and just a great place for vibrant farm fresh food.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWhy did we wait so long to try?All rivers lead to the sea, including this Northshore fishmonger’s culinary casting. The sister spawn to other fine Besh Restaurant Group establishments. La Provence pays homage to the denizens of the deep offering scrumptious seafood with no catch—no fusion confusion, flashy lures or over-priced raw nibbles that leave you hankering for a hamburger. You’ll get hooked on the brown butter hollandaise and get your daily allotment of omega-3 fatty acids at the same time—all at a price that won’t leave you feeling like you were caught—hook, line and sinker. Don’t let this be the big one that got away.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMNice way to celebrate anniversaryAs always La Provence is such an excellent place to dine. My wife and I came to celebrate our 6th anniversary. We made the reservations on line it was so simple and when we arrived they were ready for us.
The wait staff is very good and very knowledgeable of the wine list and menu. They are very pleasant and not pushy or hovering.
When our desserts came they had lit a candle on each of our plates and they wished us happy anniversary.
This is our 5 or 6 time coming to La Provence and we plan on going back my more times. Espically after finding out they have a Sunday brunch at $28 for a three course meal.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMExceptional!"My husband had read and heard of La Provence and decided to take me on my birthday! What a wonderful place, not very big, cozy and a wonderful athmosfere. The food was delish! The best I have had in my 5 years living in the Covington/New Orleans area! The service was superb. We are definitely going back to try more dishes!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMTruly memorable dinner forTruly memorable dinner for me and wife of 30 years. Classic country farm type of elegance with service staff that was friendly and prepared.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe dined late on a SundayWe dined late on a Sunday afternoon and ordered from the brunch menu. From our table in the corner in the bar we had a memorable view of the restaurant and grounds. The service was attentive but not over bearing.
The fried oyster appetizer is a must have. So's the duck and the creme brulee!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best New OrleansOne of the best New Orleans restaurants - even if you have to go to North Shore.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMI love and adore this place,I love and adore this place, the venue, the atmosphere, the way it is set up, the piano by the bar, private room, windows, and of course the food - very creative - and the decor.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother Easter Blessing !We Thoroughly enjoyed our Easter lunch with family. There was not a weak dish in our choices. The portions were perfect and the flavors exceptional. As always the service is efficient, but not rushed! We are never disappointed at La Provence.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had Easter dinner at LaWe had Easter dinner at La Provence and thoroughly enjoyed their special menu. Most of us had different dishes so we could try them, since we all had a hard time deciding what to order. They were even able to make a custom dinner for my hard-to-please teenaged daughter.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe menu was limited, overThe menu was limited, over priced, and not that good.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have been here severalWe have been here several times and it is always a wonderful experience.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMSeemed like we were in a FrenchSeemed like we were in a French country inn, lovely.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways ExcellentI have eaten at La Provence many times before, and as excellent as the previous. I have guests in town from Jacksonville, FL and wanted to take them somewhere nice. our reservations were for 08:15, and we we were seated immediately. Appetizers were delicious (Wild Boar Ravioli, Duck Confit, and Fried Oysters)! So were the entrees (Fillet, Crispy Sheephead, Roasted Duck, and Tuna steak). All were plated beautiful... Almost a shame to eat! After dinner which we paired with wine from their reasonable wine list, we had dessert. If you haven't been here, it's worth going just for the Bacon & Pecan Ice Cream! We will definitely continue dining here!3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent from the momentExcellent from the moment that one is greeted at the door.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMA jewel on the Northshore,A jewel on the Northshore, La Provence offers the most unique dining experience. We have been many times before but have not visited for the about a year or more. We feel that La Provence has regained its place as the place to go on the Northshore and it feels very similar to when Chef Chris K ran the place for many years - that's a tribute to John Besh as he's managed to keep it traditional but with a few infusions of new items. The $45 menu was a bargain and had plenty on selections to choose from. The food was very good and plentiful. You will not leave here feeling hunger! The young wait staff was attentive and friendly and the whole restaurant has a great ambiance.12/25/2012 12:00:00 AMIncredible restaurant allIncredible restaurant all around. This is absolutely one of the best restaurant experiences to be had in the greater new orleans area and that is a bold statement in a place where dining out is king. I've been here a couple times now and it hasn't disappointed. It has exceeded expectations each time.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have dined at La ProvenceWe have dined at La Provence on numerous occasions, and our experience has always been positive and memorable. Our dinner in this instance was flawless - not a missed note on a single dish, and superb service as well. Our guest, who has dined extensively in New Orleans and along the Gulf Coast, stated that it was the finest meal he had enjoyed in a year of dining in the area.2/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAt $28 for a three courseAt $28 for a three course dinner, the market menu is such a value at this fine restaurant. The setting is so romantic and the food was incredible. Our wait staff was very efficient, too. We love the bar area around the fireplace and hope to be back soon simply to enjoy cocktails in that area one afternoon.2/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
