Our first time there….Went to hear the Faux Frenchmen (who are WONDERFUL!) and found a GEM of a restaurant! The burger was excellent and the Wid Oyster Mushroom Raviol was EXCEPTIONAL! We each had the Lobster Bisque which was exquisite. Our server, Nick, provided us friendly, fantastic service. We'll be back!

Went to La Poste to celebrate a special occasion with family. The food, service, and ambiance were outstanding, but noise level was slightly loud. This is definitely a place to go for a nice dinner out or to celebrate any occasion. Don't forget to try the bread pudding as it is fantastic.

We ate at La Poste after not having dined there for many months. We are glad it's still busy and that the food is still good. But it was not as memorable as before. The steak frites's frites were soggy rounds of duck-fat soaked potatoes. And the steak was just okay. Ditto the Casear salad which was swimming in dressing. Pork and bean soup was delicious and the cheese plate robust. C'mon, La Poste, you're so important...Get it more together!! We'll definitely return with fingers crossed for the great food we've had there in the past.

I really enjoy this restaurant because of the fine menu and wine list. I always have an amazing meal here, with two of my favorites being the salmon and maple glazed pork chop. This particular night, however, the service was quite slow, which is atypical. Other than it taking a while for our entrees to get out to us, the experience was good. We sat in the main dining room where a jazz band was playing, which made conversation a little more difficult than normal. Otherwise, this is a great restaurant in the heart of Clifton Gaslight.

Food was good and the staff was okay. Environment is too loud and conversations can be difficult. Staff was competent but a little full of themselves. For example, the tasting menu was only available is each od our party of six would participate. If those are the terms, the option should be taken off the menu. Wine list is good to very good. All in all, this is a competent restaurant that puts out a good product.

We went to La Poste on Saturday night and had a group of 9. We had a few drinks at the bar first which were all very good. When we sat our waiter introduced himself and was very friendly and helpful with the menu. I had the steak special that night that came with potatoes, caramelized Brussels sprouts, and mushrooms. The steak was cooked perfectly but there was only one slice of mushroom and three halves of brussels, not even two whole brussel sprouts. I was kind of disappointed in the lack of vegetables since they were a main part of the feature. We finished with the key lime cheesecake which was amazing! Overall everything was great and we all had a very nice evening and will return again!

Really, one of the best food experiences I've had in my 14 years in this city. We decided on the tasting menu with the wine pairings and each course was a flavor explosion. I'm not a "foodie" by any means, but I am STILL daydreaming about the mushroom ravioli. Not only would I eat here again. I would have gladly ate here the NEXT day.

On August 1st, we celebrated our anniversary at La Poste where we experienced the 5 course tasting meal with wine pairing. The Sopressata Salad was a wonderful surprise. Little did we know that each succeeding course (seared scallops, wild mushroom ravioli, mahi mahi, and flank steak) would be equally as good if not better. With each course the Escoffier (seasonings, condiments, sauces, etc) were all truly amazing as were the wine pairings. The only "minor" disappointment, the flank steak, was a little chewy but still very good. Due to its ambiance and five star quality, we would highly recommend La Poste to anyone looking for a special evening out.

Hands down one of the best dining experiences I have ever had- and that is the first time I have ever said that. We went there for my girlfriend's birthday and the staff treated us like royalty. La Poste had OUTSTANDING food that supports local farmers- every dish was five star. The staff even went out of their way to provide us with complementary tastings and desert to celebrate the occasion. It made for a special night that we will never forget. I would recommend this neighborhood gem to anyone looking for a superior dining experience or a place to celebrate your special occasion.

I love La Poste, and I'll be back, but this wasn't the best meal I've had there. Ribeye is a tricky steak, and there's was not very good. Our server made a few errors on drinks, and I'm fairly confident my Woodford Reserve neat started on ice then got dumped into a new glass. I'm concerned that the change in chef will ruin this gem. I'm hopeful they keep up the high level of food, service, and atmosphere they've historically had.

I wanted to take my wife out to a special place for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. La Poste was highly recommended by a few friends, and it was a fantastic choice. Our hostess and the wait staff made sure to recognize our special occassion with a warm smile and congratulations. This welcome set a wonderful mood! The food was prepared and presented eloquently, and tasted devine! For our entree, my wife had the wild mushroom ravioli. It was light and full of flavor! I had the pan seered wahoo on a bed of citrus risotto, sauteed squash, and pepper puree. Fabulous! Dinner portions were satisfying, and left enough room to have dessert! And WOW! My wife had the chocoloate chiffon cake, while I had the bread pudding! Heaven!

excellent service at La Poste. ordered the sopraseta salad for us to split, and they did that for us. I think i prefer the house salad though. The fish special - Mahi was DELICIOUS !! in a creamed corn sauce, tastes better than it sounds.... the pasta dish was described as being very good as well. The burger nothing special, but the galette (chips) that come with are salty good!! Place seemed to fill up.

La Poste offered delicious courses, and a knowledgeable server/bartender. The environment was very quiet and surprisingly empty for a Friday night. I recommend the scallops, ravioli, and bread pudding. The pudding is a small serving though, so you might not want to share. Just saying.

The scallop appetizer which my friend and I split was delicious! The pea purée was fresh and an interesting contrast to the scallops. The skate wing entree, however, was heavy, and the vegetables, which should have been light and crisp, were overdone and all of one with the fish. The staff were helpful, knowledgable, and attentive. The waiter made an appropriate recommendation for wine. Would probably try it again if I were in the area.

My husband and I had reservations at La Poste for our anniversary - the weekend before we were on vacation in South Carolina. We'd used Open Table to find restaurants there, and while we weren't disappointed with those places, we kept finding ourselves saying "Yeah, I can't wait to go to La Poste." The staff is friendly and knowledgeable without being snooty, the food is beyond delicious and local/responsibly sourced (yay!), and I have NEVER had a bad experience there. I live in Clifton, and while I consider it a neighborhood gem, I also consider it a city gem. I love La Poste.

This was one of the most notable dining experiences I have had this year. The food was incredible, each sip of wine, and bite of food demanded your full attention. My wife and I had the duck, and it was the best preparation of duck either of us have ever had. The salad was a pear, stuffed with goat cheese, wrapped in prosciutto, and placed on a bed of arugula. For dessert, we had the bread pudding, all this we enjoyed as we sat watching a lovely performance by the Faux French Men. Our server Nick, gave excellent recommendations, and was quite passionate about food and wine. His earnestness to please, and respectful demeanor, made him a great server. The ambiance was romantic, sophisticated and European. I recommend highly.

Service is A+ and says "upscale restaurant", but some of the food offerings say "wanna be". Some of the "finer" establishments in town could take a lesson from the servers. The high-priced salmon entrée is outstanding and worth the visit. The maple-glazed pork is a wanna be: rubbery, flavorless medium-rare pork relied on accompaniments to provide what little taste the dish offered. Forget dessert, too, and walk across the street to Graeters. The chocolate chiffon cake was dry and reminiscent of a Pepperidge Farm frozen cake. The blueberry pie didn't work with its pistachio sauce. The cardamom beignets were acceptable, but the espresso rivaled dark, dirty dishwater. Appetizers were fine, but nothing special. Noise level made talking tough.
