We went for our anniversary dinner and had a lovely time. I especially enjoyed the chocolate lava cake for dessert! We were able to have a nice, leisurely dinner, but still had time to get to our movie at the Esquire on time.

Price is better, not pretentious as before. Food is better. .also not pretentious . This use to be the neighborhood draw. It may be on its way back.food was nicely done and still the chef could be the chef. People avoided the place because of price amid the fact that a dinner so expensive could be had at Orchids. We use to go there a lot before , and between Ruth's and this restaurant, might establish that again

La Poste was a delightful and delicious spot for dinner after a movie at the Esquire. We had reservations for 10 that turned into 16 at 6:15 on a busy Saturday night. The staff was very gracious and accommodating and made it look like it wasn't a problem although they were fully booked. All dinners were delicious from the lamb special to the amazing burger. The cocktails and wine choices were excellent and you can always find an interesting and delicious wine by talking with the knowledgeable servers. This is definitely one of our favorite spots for dinner for two anytime, but it also proved to be great for a large group on a weekend. We highly recommend La Poste.

This is one of my Cincinnati neighborhood favorites. It was a little off this night. It was unusually loud and our server was very loud. He was too casual with phrases like " you guys" you guys's". Will try again though as when they are on it is excellent!!

La Poste is an attractive spot with a young, energetic staff. If more than a few tables are filled it rapidly gets too loud for comfortable conversation. Over 2 nights my wife liked each of her main courses and one of her salads, I liked the steak from my steak frites but not the limp frites nor the tepid, overly salty beans from my cassoulet. Pot du creme was dense with rich chocolate but under a thick layer of caramel that would be great on its own but otherwise a distraction. Note- one serving serves at least 2 people comfortably. Nice imaginative list of wines by the glass.

La Poste is unpretentious and delivers on all that it promises. The food is original and well prepared. Good variety to fit many tastes. The wine list seems to be balanced (have only sampled reds) and the prices are reasonable. The ambiance is pleasant and the value is good. Service was attentive but not overbearing. My only complaint (and this is one I have with many restaurants in the area) is that the noise level can make conversations a little difficult to follow.

We've visited La Poste twice now, and it has officially become our "go to" restaurant of choice in Cincinnati. Excellent French food, service, and yet fairly reasonable pricing. On our last visit for our son's 21st birthday, the owner came out to greet us, stopped by several times throughout the night, and made sure we were well taken care of ... and her personal touch made all the difference. Layer on top of that a complimentary amuze bouche, plus an off the menu, highly delectable test entree they are considering adding after we thought we were completely full, and the evening was complete. Regardless of what you're celebrating, La Poste will more than rise to the occasion.

A steal for lunch ($15 for steak frites) and it was prepared perfectly. I haven't been back for a while but wanted to check it out since there was a new owner. Our server/manager was friendly and helpful. Glad to hear that they kept the ravioli and the bread pudding are still around. Will be back again!

We love the restaurant and ambiance. The food was great, but all four entrees were lukewarm at best. When I dine out, I want my hot food HOT! Our server was pleasant, but was not overly confident about giving recommendations and there were several long waits between ordered foods and drinks and delivery to the table. We did get a yummy bread pudding birthday treat from the house.

This was our second visit to La Poste. The first was under the old ownership. The new owner is engaged in the business and was present and checking on tables. Part of the appeal of the restaurant is the fantastic array of wines by the glass. The dishes were all well presented from the mushroom ravioli to the Sole which was a special. Even the Chicken was a pleaser as well as the Salmon. The only dish that was flavored unusually was the rabbit over pasta. Salad choices are excellent and unique. At the peak hour 7:30-8:00, service slowed a bit and our server was scarce. The back room was nice and noise level very reasonable. Great choice for an evening out with family and friends - even if you live in the suburbs!

La Poste was sold over the summer, and the new owner (her name is Angela) is very much hands-on. She whirls around the dining room, making sure that all guests are having a lovely time. I've always liked this restaurant and am happy that the tradition of really good food and super interesting wine choices (in all price ranges) will be carried on. There's a quinoa risotto on the current menu that my husband loved, and I was crazy about the "fried goat cheese salad" that I had. It doesn't hurt that this restaurant is a 10-minute walk from my house, and right around the corner from the Esquire Theater. Carry on, La Poste!

We had dinner at La Poste to celebrate my birthday. When making the reservation on Open Table, we noted in the comment section that we were celebrating a birthday. Upon arriving and throughout dinner, no mention was made by hostess or wait staff about our celebrating a birthday. No problem with that. When we had finished our meal, the hostess brought out a dessert with a candle and implied that it was complimentary. Imagine our surprise when we were charged for the dessert! If I was going to pay for a dessert, I would have preferred to make my own selection from the menu. While our dinner at La Poste was excellent, I don't know that we will be returning to or recommending this restaurant after our experience. Too bad. We did not mention the dessert charge to our waiter, but it sure left a sour taste in our mouths about this restaurant.

The service was excellent. The food was so exquisite that I put it in the category: "to dream about"!! The wild mushroom ravioli were so light, but with an intense, multi-layered taste, that they melted in your mouth! The orange creme brulee was marvelous! My friend raved about her quinoa risotto as well. The entire experience was to be savored for weeks to come!

We ate at La Poste after not having dined there for many months. We are glad it's still busy and that the food is still good. But it was not as memorable as before. The steak frites's frites were soggy rounds of duck-fat soaked potatoes. And the steak was just okay. Ditto the Casear salad which was swimming in dressing. Pork and bean soup was delicious and the cheese plate robust. C'mon, La Poste, you're so important...Get it more together!! We'll definitely return with fingers crossed for the great food we've had there in the past.

I really enjoy this restaurant because of the fine menu and wine list. I always have an amazing meal here, with two of my favorites being the salmon and maple glazed pork chop. This particular night, however, the service was quite slow, which is atypical. Other than it taking a while for our entrees to get out to us, the experience was good. We sat in the main dining room where a jazz band was playing, which made conversation a little more difficult than normal. Otherwise, this is a great restaurant in the heart of Clifton Gaslight.

Food was good and the staff was okay. Environment is too loud and conversations can be difficult. Staff was competent but a little full of themselves. For example, the tasting menu was only available is each od our party of six would participate. If those are the terms, the option should be taken off the menu. Wine list is good to very good. All in all, this is a competent restaurant that puts out a good product.

We went to La Poste on Saturday night and had a group of 9. We had a few drinks at the bar first which were all very good. When we sat our waiter introduced himself and was very friendly and helpful with the menu. I had the steak special that night that came with potatoes, caramelized Brussels sprouts, and mushrooms. The steak was cooked perfectly but there was only one slice of mushroom and three halves of brussels, not even two whole brussel sprouts. I was kind of disappointed in the lack of vegetables since they were a main part of the feature. We finished with the key lime cheesecake which was amazing! Overall everything was great and we all had a very nice evening and will return again!
