Diner Reviews
  • "La Poste offered delicious courses, and a knowledgeable server/bartender. The environment was very quiet and surprisingly empty for a Friday night. I recommend the scallops, ravioli, and bread pudding. The pudding is a small serving though, so you might not want to share. Just saying."

  • "We requested and received an intimate round table for our group of ladies who wanted to talk and enjoy great food together. Every aspect was lovely! Service was attentive and knowledgable about both menu and wine pairings. Every dish exceeded our expectations. We wished we had been prepared for a more in depth experience, because the tasting menu intrigued us all. LaPoste is truly a gem that is a go to place for several in our group."

  • "Lovely atmosphere and on the night we were there they had a jazz band playing. Food was stellar. Usually side dishes are a back drop, but mine held their own with my salmon. Service was attentive and professional but not intrusive. They have some fun cocktails on the menu as well. Go, enjoy. LaPoste has something happening."

  • "We had a great meal, but our server was overly attentive. We couldn't have a conversation without interruption. We were also in and out in an hour."

  • "Enjoyed a wonderful anniversary meal at La Poste. We enjoyed their 5-course pairing menu, complete with wine pairings. Our waiter, Andrew, was very attentive, and chose a spectacular menu for us. Everything we ate and drank was superb. Great for special occasions!"

  • "The scallop appetizer which my friend and I split was delicious! The pea purée was fresh and an interesting contrast to the scallops. The skate wing entree, however, was heavy, and the vegetables, which should have been light and crisp, were overdone and all of one with the fish. The staff were helpful, knowledgable, and attentive. The waiter made an appropriate recommendation for wine. Would probably try it again if I were in the area."

  • "I looked at several menus before deciding to go to La Poste for our anniversary and if believe we made the right choice. It was nice without being too nice and uppity. We enjoyed every aspect of our dinner, especially the food."

  • "LaPoste has a great serving staff who are extremely attentive, and deliver course after course of delicious food!"

  • "My husband and I had reservations at La Poste for our anniversary - the weekend before we were on vacation in South Carolina. We'd used Open Table to find restaurants there, and while we weren't disappointed with those places, we kept finding ourselves saying "Yeah, I can't wait to go to La Poste." The staff is friendly and knowledgeable without being snooty, the food is beyond delicious and local/responsibly sourced (yay!), and I have NEVER had a bad experience there. I live in Clifton, and while I consider it a neighborhood gem, I also consider it a city gem. I love La Poste."

  • "First time here. Came with out of towners. Specifically Italy. They were very impressed with the menu, quality of food and the service. Great server Nick."

  • "La Poste is one of the best restaurants in town. The food, wine, and service were impeccable. The French inspired menu was flawless. Didn't expect such fine dining in Clifton. Glad they had valet. The decor was gorgeous - french modern cafe style."

  • "Beautiful atmosphere, good service, and good food make for a positive dining experience. A gem most certainly."

  • "Friendly staff. The restaurant has been nicely redecorated since our last visit. Delicious, well presented food and very nice, well chosen wines at reasonable prices. La Poste continues to be one of our favorite dining spots in Cincinnati. Great after a movie at the Esquire Theater."

  • "The fish is always outstanding and the servers are always warm and friendly. I highly recommend LaPost for GOOD FOOD!"

  • "This was one of the most notable dining experiences I have had this year. The food was incredible, each sip of wine, and bite of food demanded your full attention. My wife and I had the duck, and it was the best preparation of duck either of us have ever had. The salad was a pear, stuffed with goat cheese, wrapped in prosciutto, and placed on a bed of arugula. For dessert, we had the bread pudding, all this we enjoyed as we sat watching a lovely performance by the Faux French Men. Our server Nick, gave excellent recommendations, and was quite passionate about food and wine. His earnestness to please, and respectful demeanor, made him a great server. The ambiance was romantic, sophisticated and European. I recommend highly."

  • "Service is A+ and says "upscale restaurant", but some of the food offerings say "wanna be". Some of the "finer" establishments in town could take a lesson from the servers. The high-priced salmon entrée is outstanding and worth the visit. The maple-glazed pork is a wanna be: rubbery, flavorless medium-rare pork relied on accompaniments to provide what little taste the dish offered. Forget dessert, too, and walk across the street to Graeters. The chocolate chiffon cake was dry and reminiscent of a Pepperidge Farm frozen cake. The blueberry pie didn't work with its pistachio sauce. The cardamom beignets were acceptable, but the espresso rivaled dark, dirty dishwater. Appetizers were fine, but nothing special. Noise level made talking tough."

  • "I have been wanting to dine at La Poste for several years and it was well worth the wait. We opted for the 7 course wine pairing dinner and it was fabulous. The scallops were tender, the short ribs melt in your mouth. The signature mushroom ravioli cannot be compared. Every wine was delightful and we totally enjoyed our experience. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "Food was very good (even if not superb); wait staff was most accommodating and pleasant. Very quiet and lovely ambience. I'd go back without question on a future trip to Cincinnati. "

  • "Everything at this restaurant was very nice. The service could not have been more appropriate and the atmosphere is so relaxing and intimate. Quite a bit of seasonal choices done creatively."

  • "The chef's efforts should be noted. The presentation was picture perfect. We went to La Poste for a casual night out and found the menu and the food to be unusual and exquisite. Excellent wine list also. Will definitely go back. "

  • "We go to LaPoste occasionally and have always had very good food and service. Lovely smallish main dining room with white table cloths, local art and huge window wall. Service is excellent-not pretentious, not hovering, just right, and the mussels and wild mushroom ravioli were outstanding. Had to eat every bite. "

  • "My guests enjoyed their meals, the service and the overall experience very much. As a return guest I was somewhat disappointed with two of my three courses: the smoked duck breast appetizer really doesn't blend with the accompanying vegetables etc; the mussels dish was far too salty for my palate. I was also pleased to note that the intrusiveness of the waitstaff that has previously bothered me was MUCH less apparent this visit. Otherwise yours is a restaurant to which I will happily return"

  • "Although I don't go often, I enjoy every minute at La Poste. It is definitely a special occasion even if you're not celebrating one because the service is outstanding and the every bite of food is incredible. La Post is on the pricier side, but worth it. Sometimes, probably due to the old building or tin ceiling, it can be very loud, but it seems you get used to it as the meal progresses...but maybe that's just the wine making it more tolerable."

  • "We made a last minute reservation, so we got a table for 5:30. The atmosphere was very nice with the sun light in the large windows. The food was great, I particularly recommend the sopressata salad (no for vegetarians, it has salami), the pistachio relish, fig purée gave the salad a great texture and flavor and the presentation is very interesting. The rest of the meal was also great. "

  • "We love going to La Poste! The service is always spot on. The food is fabulous. We enjoy trying new wine and the recommendations from the servers. The noise level can get a bit loud...but just be prepared for it and enjoy the energy. We loved the meal and will go again and again. "

  • "Early Saturday dinner for 2.. place was already getting busy for evening diners but we were promptly greeted & seated.. a totally enjoyable dinner.. from cocktails & wines to salads & entrees & tip for service: $120.. would recommend and look forward to returning."

  • "The food was wonderful--well-presented and exceptionally flavorful. Our waiter was knowledgeable about wine and offered assistance in selecting a bottle without being pushy. I hardly ever order chicken out but I was glad I did this time as it was wonderful, well-seasoned, crispy skin with gnocchi in a rich mushroom sauce. A dinner companion had the pork tenderloin which was equally good. Atmosphere was a little noisy due to lots of hard surfaces. Valet parking is a real bonus as it is hard to find parking in Clifton. All in all, a very enjoyable evening.s"
