La Poste - CincinnatiPerfectMy group of 6 met for an early dinner to take advantage of Restaurant Week. The Chef sent a complimentary drink for our birthday celebration. The service was excellent. The portions were perfect. The food was superb! Thank you La Poste!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMLaPoste is LaPleasureSo many friends love LaPoste- had to try. Chef treats everyone to fruit salad w/crips - a lovely treat. Great wine list. Both of us had the seared tuna salad. The wasabi tobiko was a great touch. I had the salmon with cous cous - cooked to perfection. My husband had the 50/50 burger (beef and lamb) - there wasn't a crumb left on his plate. The waitress was attentive without hovering. The restaurant filled up while we were there: didn't feel rushed; not noisy; tables not crowed. Dessert: hubby had the bread pudding (doesn't like b.p.) loved this - wanted to lick the plate! - I had the chocolate mousse - not up to par - it was runny - lost it's solidification. But, hubby still ate it all. Great evening. Great dinner. We will be back!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMLove La Poste and highly recommendLove La Poste and highly recommend it for a delicious meal. Also love the valet parking. A bit costly but very convenient.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMMmmmm Mother's Day BrunchWe really enjoyed our brunch! Staff were friendly and accomodating . The food was great. My husband, who had lost
a cap and was eating carefully, said the duck comfit was amazing!
We found a parking place quite near and were very content!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat, fun art on the wallsSaturday evening was our first visit to LaPoste and we felt a bit underdressed for it, but the staff was excellent and made us feel comfortable even in jeans,
My husband's hamburger came overdone; the server promptly returned it to the kitchen and had another burger cooked medium rare according to specifications. A staff member offered a cup of soup while he waited for his burger which was well intentioned, but he declined as it would be just too much food.
There was very little on the menu for me as I am vegetarian, luckily the ravioli was good as it was really the only thing on the menu that didn't involve meat.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner experience was notDinner experience was not the best i've had at this place.... not sure if the menu would benefit from a refresher or what... talked to friends who also use to go and all shared a feeling of "few wonderful dishes" but getting tired... keep this place up... it's a gem5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe really like LePoste forWe really like LePoste for business dinners as it is close to the Hospital and the ambiance is great. Thanks for another great meal! Sara Jacobs4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our 2nd time. TheThis was our 2nd time. The first time we liked it okay, but had planned not to go back. My mom invited us out for a nice meal and we had such a nice time. The waitress was wonderful and the food was great.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMLocal restaurant that I canLocal restaurant that I can walk to & enjoy the lunch or dinner, the friends I'm with & know the total dining experience will be notable.
Thank you!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMLa Poste is a delightful restaurantLa Poste is a delightful restaurant tucked away on a small street in a beautiful neighborhood. The service is outstanding and the food is excellent. There are many interesting menu choices, something for everyone. The mixture of fresh ingredients and inventive dishes make this eatery special.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding Dining!!!WE had heard from some locals that this place was great. Come to find out it was one of the best dining experiences in a long time. The adult beverages were liberal. We ended up with a 4 course meal that was fabulous! We highly recommend for a romantic date or just a fine dining experience. You won't be disappointed.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMLa Poste has never failedLa Poste has never failed to be anything other than awesome. The food is wonderful and service terrific. Highly recommended!!4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst visit for brunch atFirst visit for brunch at La Poste, after many dinners here. As always, the food was inventive and delicious. I would have loved to have eaten every bite of the mountain of Sweet Potato Drop Biscuits with Maple Sausage Gravy, but it was so much, I finally and regretfully had to cut myself off. The bloody mary drinks were generous and extremely well seasoned if you like them a little on the spicy side. The roasted celery was an interesting and nice addition. I do want to call out what a great job they did accommodating our 1 year old daughter. To a person, it felt like the whole serving team interacted with her, talked to her, or made us feel welcome. Thank you for that kindness!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMThanks for a great experience! My wife and I went for our anniversary and had a wonderful experience. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. The wine selection was impressive. My wife and I are already planning to go back.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMBlown AwayWe have been to La Poste many times and have always had a great experience, but this time was extra special. Our waiter from last visit overheard me say how much I loved artichokes, and they had a special treat for me during this visit (really delish). I have been to many restaurants repeatedly (as once I find a good one I tend to go back fairly often,)and I have never seen this kind of attentiveness. Absolutely blown away. The service is alway first rate, as is the food, but this was really above and beyond. So much appreciated3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMUpsetting Choices, Great ServiceThe food and service were spectacular as always, but I was a little disappointed to see Chilean Sea Bass as the seafood feature. In my mind, talented chefs at smaller, independent restaurants are looked to for setting the direction of the food scene in a city, not continuing irresponsible practices. I would expect Mr. Taylor, whose bio on the website mentions his “special considerations for organic and sustainable farming practices” would have the sense to stay away from serving one of most overfished species available. I will hesitate to return to La Poste, despite the consistently good food and excellent service, because of this break from the purported standards that the chef claims to uphold. Too bad.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe go there quite a lot andWe go there quite a lot and we always eat very well, service is usually very good, the bread pudding is to die for and we enjoy ourselves. I recommend the place without hesitation!!! Ah... the art work on the walls change every so many weeks and so it is always nice to discover new things on the walls.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMHad been hearing about theHad been hearing about the place a lot lately, decided to check it out for ourselves. Fell in love at first bite. We enjoyed the fois gras, escargot, seafood risotto and duck. Each was delicious. People next to us had the lamb, looked incredible (and big). Looking forward to going back again!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe returned to La Poste afterWe returned to La Poste after having two previous delightful dinners in the Fall of 2012. We were not disappointed. The staff are genuinely friendly and create a welcoming atmosphere. Their cocktails are well made. The menu is simple and well done. All four of us had the veal shank and it was great! Well done and an ample portion. The scallop appetizer was super. Lots of reasonable wine options. The dining room was full and energetic but not distracting. I would highly recommend La Poste.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service were bothFood and service were both great. Very cool scene to hang out with friends and good food. Would definitely go back.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMI sent my boss and a potentialI sent my boss and a potential hire to Le Post. College of Medicine3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMCan't Wait To Dine Here Again! The food was delicious & attractive, but for me, the overall dining experience is what made this a fantastic night out. Our waitress was superb; personable & extremely knowledgeable of the food & wine. The atmosphere was cozy with a casual up-scale feel; plus the space didn't feel overcrowded even though the restaurant & bar area were full. Everyone was very friendly, our waitress was prompt but not overly-invasive & made great suggestions from the menu when we asked. The hostess was one step ahead, having our coats ready at the door & the valet with our vehicle perfectly timed with our exit. Excellent place for a date night or dinner with good friends.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMStop Wasting Your Time ElsewhereYou absolutely cannot go wrong with La Poste. I've been living here in the Clifton area for about 2 years now, and I count myself fortunate to be within walking distance of this restaurant. I moved to Cincinnati from Madison, Wisconsin, where all of your food dreams can (and do!) come true. When I came to Cincinnati I was honestly a bit unimpressed with the available eating options, the quality of food at local so-called hot-spots, and the level of service. My usual 20% tip turned into a miserly 10%, and even then I felt I was paying too much. Enter La Poste, stage left.
By the end of your meal you'll know you're coming back, but you won't know if you're coming back for the amazing food or the great service.2/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWine guy was very helpful.Wine guy was very helpful. Entrees were very good, and serving size was just right -- not huge, not miniscule. Will go back!1/24/2013 12:00:00 AMI took a friend for her birthdayI took a friend for her birthday and had a delightful lunch. The shrimp and grits, apple salad and bread pudding were excellent.
