Diner Reviews
  • "Stephanie did a marvelous job. The six of us for the most tried six different prix fixe offerings and all were delicious."

  • "Food was good, as always, and portions are extremely large. We love this restaurant for an "easy" evening out, where we know the food will be good, but we don't want the hassle of having to plan weeks in advance for a reservation. The restaurant was packed and they seemed to be a little short-staffed, so there was an occasional wait when trying to get our server's attention. I always love the salad with avocado, crab, shrimp and grapefruit - some of my favorite foods. This was the first time it was served with NO crab, and no explanation as to its absence. No matter, it was still delicious, but the server should have addressed its absence. Noise level is high when the restaurant is packed as it was on Sat. night, but we still enjoy it."

  • "The real problem with this restaurant is it's over ambitious menu. They should have a smaller menu and do a few things REALLY great and not try to prepare so many different types of French food. Especially for the prices. I have eaten here 4 times because I love French food and was not over whelmed any time."

  • "La Petite Maison along with Atmosphere are the top French cafe/cuisine restaurants that I've visited. Offering delicious soups and entrees, and having a friendly staff is why this is a personal favorite for brunch/lunch and highly recommended."

  • "I chose La Petite Maison for a special dinner to meet for the first time to meet a woman who was both a culinary writer and travels around the country on speaking engagements. The staff and the service was impeccable from the very moment I walked in to wait for my date. We were helped in selecting a fine french wine that would pair nicely with our meals. Each of our entree's were presented beautifully and seasoned our tastes. The atmosphere was perfect to carry on a conversation even with the restaurant full that evening. What a fantastic evening and we will be back again"

  • "We loved everything that was served by friendly owner. We went to this restaurant to celebrate my husband 's birthday. We enjoyed escargot, frog legs and goat cheese salad as our appetizer. Our Entrees included duck with orange sauce; and chicken smothered with mushroom sauce. Portions were ample size. Creme brûlée and apple tart were our dessert selections. The chef prepared everything nicely. The entrees were served piping hot. We had a fantastic meal and look forward to returning to this restaurant in the near future"

  • "La Petite Maison recalls (now gone) South of France on Cheshire Bridge. Unpretentious, comfy, authentic, nice big plates, bold flavors, and a nice retreat from the state of the art/complex food scene in Atlanta. You feel as if you are dinning somewhere in the town center of Perpignan in the south of France or a suburb of Paris up north. Plus, the bar has Lillet Blanc.....I get frustrated when a French restaurant does not carry this must have bar item! I'm afraid to write this glowing review of La Petite Maison as I want it to remain the secret gem that it is! this place is pitch perfect and cozy."

  • "Love this place, food and folks! They are always accommodating and offer the best mussels with your choice of preparation. Beware...it is hard to make a decision what to eat though as there are so many tempting options!"

  • "We love this place! We come here every year to celebrate Bastille Day. The owners are amazing. Staff is friendly, service is excellent & the food melts in your mouth. We had the Chef Special, fish with salad greens over it, French Onion soup or salad & dessert. I chose the Chocolate Mousse. It was a lot but you couldn't stop eating it. Very light & smooth. Bread was warm served with pate, which was amazing. This is a lovely quaint authentic, French restaurant."

  • "As always, the service, food, and beverages are outstanding at La Petite. One of our absolute favorites - it never disappoints. The warmth and attention by the owners and their staff is memorable, and the food is amazing. We always enjoy mussels (PM only) (both red and white are a must - we can never pick between them!), a bottle of red, and the nightly specials ... and if there's room/time, a hint of dessert in their fantastic profiteroles or chocolate mousse. The fish, salads and steak are all fab - there's no downside to any of what they offer. They treat us so well and their food is excellent - c'est fini! The patio's a stand-out and the ambience of the interior French zen-like. It's a bit of Paris' best bistro in Atlanta. J'adore!"

  • "I randomly picked this restaurant when visiting from out of town, because it was close to the hotels where a group of coworkers and I were staying. I love French food in general, but when I tried to find this place I was a bit concerned about the neighborhood.... nothing awful, but certainly not "scenic." Anyway, the building itself had some character and so we went on in for our reservation. And MAN, was that a good call. Authentic, friendly, excellent staff who, when asked "what's good" reply "I cannot help you -- all of it is good." And so it was. What more can I say? One of the best meals I've ever eaten. Highly recommend."

  • "I have spent many months in France and have missed the food most of all. Finding La Petite Maison is one of the best things to happen since coming back to the States. They really know how to bring the taste and atmosphere of everything French to Atlanta! From the escargot and homemade foie gras to a perfect filet and delicious sides to unbelievably amazing chocolate mousse you can't go wrong."

  • "Dinner was lovely. Two of our party had the Duck....asked for it crispy and got it crispy. My Frogs Legs were delicious, but outstanding were the Escargots. Can't wait until we go back again to try the Mussels."

  • "Where you would least expect a charming French bistro -- on a busy stretch of Roswell Road next to two long-past-their-prime strip centers and across the street from a big car dealer -- La Petite Maison delivers an excellent experience. Authentic French food and warm but not overbearing service. My lunch companion lived in Paris 20 years and also loved the place!"

  • "The food is excellent. The staff is always welcoming and convivial. The wine list is a perfect size and selection. The atmosphere is just like a Paris bistro. But it's really about the food! The combination of all is the reason we keep going back. "

  • "We had their special menu, three courses for $32. They offer great traditional French bistro food. Nothing fusion or nouveau here, but they do traditional very well."

  • "I love going here for lunch as the food is delicious and it is pretty quiet so it's nice to be able to talk. The salads are delicious as well as the sandwiches and quiche. The desserts are also very good and everything is presented in a very lovely way. It's a great place for a special lunch."

  • "You get a nice feeling the moment you walk in. Cozy, informal, friendly and yet some dishes can be sophisticated. I had the lamb on my last visit and it was simply delicious. The service is very friendly and efficient, portions are generous and these are not common treats in a truly authentic French restaurant. The wine list matches perfectly with the food offerings and you can get a very nice bottle of Bordeaux without breaking the bank. My favorite French informal restaurant!"

  • "Was looking forward to celebrating my birthday here. Had duck, daughter had a different duck - didn't like it as much as I did, hubby had steak. Desserts were to die for! Salads innovative. Very happy with the meal!"
