La Petite GroceryEverything well planned and executeEverything from the menu to the food, service and ambiance was right where you want it to be for a quality brunch.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat I expected and MOREI was very excited to bring my family for Mother's Day they had a awesome time the food was fabulous pricing was expensive but well worth it. I also got to see a celebrity not 10 feet away from me very good experience.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightful eveningWe had Sunday evening dinner after 4 days in New Orleans. The atmosphere was wonderful, warm, welcoming and comforting. The staff acted as though we were family. The food is inventive and delicious and beautifully presented. Both the rabbit and the halibut were perfectly prepared. Nothing at all wrong with this lovely restaurant.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMTre Bon restaurantCan't say enough positive about this gem. Totally unassuming amazingly comfortable chic. Don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. The baked blue crab wonderful. Roasted chicken with their sauce so good and understated. For lunch or dinner, go when you can relax afterward to savor the wonderful treat you just had. Just a pleasure!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Anniversary CelebrationWe celebrated our anniversary here with a delicious meal. The restaurant (as the name indicates) is located in a renovated old neighborhood grocery store in a vibrant location on Magazine St. Parking in this area can be hard to find, but LPG has solved the problem for customers who are given the access code to a private parking lot when reservations are confirmed. We started our meal with a cocktail from their specialty menu. Both were excellent. Our appetizers consisted of their famous blue crab beignets (on the regular menu) and a special for the night of ramps ( a vegetable similar to green onions, our waitress explained). Both appetizers were delicious as was the rest of our meal.. I highly recommend La Petite Grocery! We will be back.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMCreative, Delicious Fine DiningJustine and Mia has a real gem here! The building is steep in history, originally being a small French grocery. Now it's an upscale yet very seasonable fine dining establishment with a creative but not overwhelming menu. Went two nights in a row and my differnt guests really enjoyed it! We had 7 people the first night and tried just about everything on the menu- not one miss!! The
Octopus appetizer and the rabbit were my favorite, the evening fish, grouper was another fab!! Great wine selection, again very reasonable. All in all a real winner, especially for foodies! Go early and enjoy the friendly and relaxing bar.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMOur first time diningThis was our first time dining at La Petite Grocery, and it was a very pleasant meal indeed. We arrived and were immediately seated and were warmly greeted by our excellent server. We ordered two appetizers, the octopus and the sweetbreads, both were fabulous, especially the sweetbreads. We both ordered the rabbit, which was very good. When we return to New Orleans, we will definitely have to come back here.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my second experienceThis was my second experience at La Petite Grocery and it was phenomenal. The food is outstanding and the service (manger and servers) is what everyone in the service industry should aspire to.
Nicely done.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is one of the best mealsThis is one of the best meals I have had in New Orleans recently. The Halibut was outstanding. Also, even though it was Jazzfest, the service was very good and the wait staff was very professional and knowledgeable.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was excellent and we satIt was excellent and we sat at the table planning our next trip back.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMNow one of my favorite restaurants. Now one of my favorite restaurants. Love small dining room which makes the exxperience even more quaint and special.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was delicious and serviceFood was delicious and service very good. Our host suggested there were not enough inexpensive or moderately priced wines.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Place for Special Occasions! We went for Anniversary and it was great. The staff made us feel special and catered to our every need. The food from the appetizers to main course to the dessert was great.
I highly recommend it.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service were great!Food and service were great! White wine was too cold and noise level too high, but will definitely return.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe've had just about everythingWe've had just about everything on the menu and it has all been equally delightful. Perfect portions!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMwe had a fantastic dinnerwe had a fantastic dinner at La Petite Grocery, from the Bee's Hive cocktail to the beet salad with crawfish to the cardamom mascarpone cheesecake. the space feels Parisian and comfortable and the service was also great. i would definitely go back.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was perfect. GrilledThe food was perfect. Grilled octopus was amazing (a special), the lamb was great as was rabbit w/ spaetzl, all four apps/salads we had were delicious. I personally wasn't too crazy about the boudin balls, but I grew up near the cajun mecca of boudin so I'm hyper-critical. The rest of our party enjoyed them and they were still better than other places in NOLA. LPG accommodated one vegetarian in the group without hesitation which was much appreciated.
Service was spot on, always observant and attentive without being intrusive.
Cocktails were great, nice selection of whiskeys and aperitifs, and a broad wine selection. Wine choices were a little expensive, but not excessive.
I'll definitely be back!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGood but not as outstandingGood but not as outstanding as I remember from previous times. The remainder of our party had never been there and seemed to think it was fine.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMCrabby Bloody Mary BrunchWe snagged the first Sunday Brunch seating via Open Table on a last minute whim. The Red Hammer Bloody Mary is generously adorned with vegetables, shrimp, and heaps of crab claw meat which make it well-worth the $ (and you WILL need the fork). Each dish was a harmonious coupling of both texture and flavor. The staff was patient and attentive. At $120 for brunch for 3 were a little disappointed to see a large group of jean, t-shirt and flip-flop clad patrons dining along side us, but... this is New Orleans.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMI had an amazing experienceI had an amazing experience at La Petite Grocery. Every facet of the meal was on point. I cannot stop dreaming about the special brunch bloody Mary... Wow amazing. Count me as a Kew regular.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent, from appetizersFood was excellent, from appetizers all the way through to dessert. Only reason why I didn't rate it overall as outstanding is because our server was a bit rude. Otherwise, food and atmosphere were GREAT!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Food and ServiceGreat food...went with a couple of friends so we were able to sample several dishs. Rabbit is really really good, the combination of tastes are just wonderful. The service was excellent, wait staff understood the food and how to mix and match to get that perfect combination. I highly recommend that you give it a try.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was top notch andThe food was top notch and innovative! We had been in New Orleans for 5 days and were trying some of the restaurants on last years "James Beard" list.We actually preferred this than another top award winner !4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMReally enjoyed this smallReally enjoyed this small restaurant and would definitely go back. Food was great but dessert was exceptional!4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMVery cool appetizers DynamicVery cool appetizers
Dynamic wine list AND a fun cocktail list. Rarely do you see both.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMLa Petite Grocery worth the tripAway from the crowds of Bourbon Street, in the Garden District, La Petite Grocery places wonderful and carefully prepared food on the table. The braised brussel sprouts made a great appetizer. The apple/celeriac salad preceded a hanger steak that was oh so good. The gulf flounder was done to perfection as well. A nice "wine-by-the-glass" selection was a welcome sight. No dessert on this trip. The dinner was more than enough. Great place and great service.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my second time diningThis was my second time dining at LPG and I was not disappointed. My group had a wide selection of appetizers, entrees, and deserts, all of which were at least very good and some of which were incredible. Lowlight: I can make better broiled brussel sprouts at home. Highlight: everything else! the chocolate tart was especially delicious - I'd go back just for that!
The staff was very nice and personable. If you're a New Orleans resident, you have to try LPG!4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMShrimp roll was to DIE FOR! BeautiShrimp roll was to DIE FOR!
Beautiful spot - delicious!!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGood, not excellentLPG did not live up to it's gargantuan reputation, but how could it? People talk about this place as if its one of the 8 wonders of the world. The food was excellent. The portions were not big enough to share, but the prices would lead you to believe that they were. The decor was beautiful. Our server appeared to be having an off night and did nothing to enhance the dining experience. I would definitely go back, but not over my new orleans favorites like Clancy's, Luke and Emeril's.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThe ambiance is appealingThe ambiance is appealing in La Petite Grocery--and so is the food! The two appetizers--octopus and pork cheek--were outstanding; the pork cheek was juicy and rich with flavor, whereas the linguine with the octopus was spicy and left us wishing for more. Several entrees were ordered. The flounder was tender and perfectly cooked. The hanger steaks and fixings were a big hit. While the main dishes were rich and flavorful, we were equally impressed with the various vegetables that were included with the dishes. The potatoes with the hanger steaks were perfectly cooked and tasted better than any potatoes any of us have ever had. We were very pleased with the experience.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMReally lovely, not as great as be4This was our second visit to la petite grocery, our first for lunch. The staff is so friendly, and the waiters are top-notch; knowledgable, completely devoid of pretension, really nice. I had a terrific glass of Burgundian Chardonnay and my husband enjoyed a Belgian beer he, a real afficionado, had never before seen. We started with the baked oysters with collards, bacon and cornbread crumbs. Good and well-executed but the sweetness of the cornbread overshadowed everything else which was unfortunate. My husband had the pastrami sandwich and fries which he loved, and I had the absolutely sublime caramelized Brussels sprouts with pancetta as well as the shaved asparagus with beets and crawfish. The latter dish was lovely but lacked zing3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best meals we hadOne of the best meals we had on our recent trip to New Orleans!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, service andExcellent food, service and ambiance. The food was excellent and the wine list was superb. Our waiter was incredibly knowledgable and did a terrific job.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMLa Petite Grocery ROCKS!Sat at the bar and enjoyed the action of the skilled bartender juggling multiple drink orders without a fuss. Learned about the restaurant and the chef from a "regular" sitting adjacent to me. And had GREAT food. A scrumptious beet salad with crawfish in a creamy/spicy sauce. Lobster beignets also delicious. And a fabulous redfish crudo with just the right amount of dressing. Wonderful. I'd go there again in a flash. Chef Justin Devillier came through the bar area, chatting with folks - he was wonderfully generous by recommending other restaurants I might enjoy during my stay in New Orleans - amazing!3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMTop of our list in new orleans. It was beyond my expectation. Creative menu and exellent taste.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMOn the list! Petit is a cant miss!Lobster beignets- packed with chunks of meat and delicately fried in the lightest batter
Brussel sprouts roasted to perfection in a balsamic and pecan coating
Pork cheek on biscuit with applewood smoked bacon and a molasses drizzle?
Shrimp n grits enough to share around the table

All this in a cute setting in the garden district-

Loved the food and the service was polite and knowledgable. My Shrimp and Grits was fabulous.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMLa Petite Grocery - Very NiceFood was wonderful and the service was really terrific.1/5/2013 12:00:00 AMHighlight of trip to New OrleansHighlight of trip to New Orleans (where we also ate at Coops Place, R'Evolution, August, and and Bayona)
Cremant rose for pre-dinner drink, great bartender.
Braised pork cheeks marzano and mascarpone polenta (appetizer fork tender), cheese plate (good fresh cheese, nice diversity), duck breast with sweet potato (excellent, crispy skin, juicy medium rare duck!), LPG burger, Bibb salad, Brussel sprouts with pancetta as a side. Homemade butterscotch ice cream with cream and ginger snap cookies.
Servers were outstanding Andrea (server), Nick (helped with wine selection), and Kristin (bartender).
Can;t wait to return to New Orleans.12/30/2012 12:00:00 AMParty of 5, with one glutenParty of 5, with one gluten free foodie. All were happy.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
