"A splendid 1930's art deco hotel with a gorgeous restaurant inside with great food and fantastic service. The wait staff is the best. Ask to be seated in Danny's area, he's most excellent!"

"Very good Italian food with a creative touch, good service, good wine list. I reserve 5 stars only for the most outstanding places, so with that standard I give this 4 stars, which for me means it's a great place to dine and I'd happily return.
On another note, it's an easy 7 min. walk to HP Pavilion if you're having dinner before a Sharks game. There is a parking structure nearby that is a couple dollars cheaper than parking closer to the arena and the few extra minutes you walk will save you time when you leave, as traffic will be less crazy. Excellent choice for pre-game meal."

"Sharks Pre-game favorite. La Pastaia is a favorite of ours for most of the Sharks pre-game venues. Food is great, selection is varied, service is outstanding, and the atmosphere is always conducive to enjoying a fine meal."

"La Pastaia is located in the De Anza Hotel. Our dinner reservations were for 530p as we had a concert to attend. When we arrived in town an hour earlier, we stopped by to see if there would be restaurant valet parking and was advised yes. Upon arriving at 530p, it was raining with no street parking and their valet parking attendant turned us away as we were not hotel guests. I pulled into an open stall right in front and advised that I had been told there would be valet for the restaurant. The valet attendant was incredibly rude and told us we'd have to go find parking ourselves a few blocks away. The hotel manager came out and gave us the same story, and eventually relented, but it really soured us on the whole dinner experience."
