  • Great Food, but Quiet

Although it was a wonderful Friday evening (nice weather), there were very few people in the restaurant. I'm alright with 'quiet,' but it was a bit *too* quiet. Regardless, the food was excellent (assuming you eat meat - I tend to avoid meat, but that wasn't necessarily applicable here). Overall, it was an enjoyable evening.

My girlfriends and I recently had a lovely meal here. Between the three of us, we shared the crab cake appetizer, which was delicious, and a salad with fried Brie, which was also very good. For entrees, we had the duck breast, beef carpaccio and galette Bretonne crepe. While all three were delicious, the crepe was by far the winner of the entree round! The chef came out to welcome us, and our server was wonderful. Attentive without intruding. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

The first 3 items we ordered they were out of, not the end of the world. Veal on the entre was virtually non existent and if there any there it was buried in the risotto which was very good. However, $28 for a plate of risotto with no discernable veal is not a good experience. The steak, usually a mistake at a French restaurant, was indeed one here as well. Tough and laden with grissel, it was terrible.

Came to dinner knowing about the Salsa Night that was scheduled to start at 9pm. I thought from checking their website that it was going to be rather pricy but in retrospect, we received much more than expected! the food, the service, the people,,,,we couldn't have asked for a better night. The Twin braised quails were divine and the Pork chop impressive (come hungry!). They had their Friday night Salsa night starting with a salsa lesson right around 9:15 and that 30 minutes was fun and help us digest the wonderful dinner we just had, and we ended up staying till 11:45 pm! Thank you for a memorable evening

Dine out frequently at what are considered some of Richmond's better restaurants. The experience at La Parisienne on Saturday, June 28, was second to none. Absolutely superb service and the meal was fantastic. Management (the owner) was very cordial and both he and the waiter made us feel very comfortable and relaxed. Both extended themselves to make our experience a memorable one. Look forward to a return visit.

I got the duck-which was cooked perfectly, and my boyfriend got the veal with risotto. He let me take a couple of bites and it was INCREDIBLE. We both got a glass of Bordeaux to go with it. (Went perfect with my duck but turned spicy with my boyfriends risotto.) We also both got crêpes, and the staff was kind enough to put a candle in one since it was my boyfriends birthday. Both crêpes were delicious and went perfectly with our coffees. I can't remember our waitress' name but she was kind and helped us make decisions on what to get. There was also a waiter who also would help us too and he is a part of what made the experience unforgettable by being warm and welcoming. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Most of the time when I think of a french restaurant I think expensive and stuffy. La Parisienne Bistro is far from both of those. The food is excellent and offers a good variety of dishes, as well as some amazing desserts and good wine and cocktail selections. The prices are very reasonable for the skillfully prepared dishes, and most of all the staff is awesome. Always very friendly and welcoming and eager to please. This restaurant went from being a groupon experiment to a regular dining option for us.

We dined outside and I'm glad we did as inside noisy with loud talking (over the music)! This is the perfect place for a romantic dinner or a special occasion. Like all French Restaurants, all little pricey but the quality of the food - all very fresh ingredients - and the service make it well worth the $$ spent.

My husband and I ate here to celebrate our 18th anniversary. Our maître d helped us choose a wine (which was delicious) and the food was perfect! Crunchy, fresh French bread accompanied our meals. I had the veal and risotto and my husband had the special, a flat iron steak served over smashed yukon gold potatoes. We enjoyed the outside seating, but ambled inside for our Nutella and banana crepe for dinner, accompanied by strong, wonderful coffee! As I said, a perfect meal and fantastic wait staff!

Reservation made through Open Table but we were seated towards the bat area. They have a small menu and were our of certain wines and a dish entree. For a Saturday at 7:00pm that seemed to be more an issue of stock management than popularity. The appetizer was coated in cream sauce. The sauce would have been a good accent rather than served as i it was soup. Main entrees were decent. Overall, I would rate it mediocre. There are significantly better places to eat.

Service could not have been better! I ordered the duck. It was delicious and the sauce was fantastic! We also had the steak frites, one with the peppercorn sauce and one with the Roquefort sauce. Both sauces were abundant but delicious. Waiter even provided extra bread for enjoying the remaining sauces. Salmon dish was the only one that wasn't stellar. Salmon was good, just not as good as the other dishes. Onion soup was superb and escargot were large and flavorful! Dessert consisted of delicious dishes featuring Homestead Creamery ice cream which has a special place in my heart. Overall a great experience and we will be returning!

The interior was inviting and the ambiance was very nice. We both ordered the steak, some Risotto to share, the French Onion Soup and ordered a salad. Oh, but the salad wasn't available to me because all the portions had been designated for the tasting menu, and the waiter returned and advised us that the Pom Frittes were no longer available. What French Restaurant doesn't have Frittes?! The soup was awesome, the steaks were DROWNING in sauce and needed some additional seasoning (salt that meat and the sauce please), and we sent the risotto back because it was under-cooked and chewy. All in all, I was disappointed that our anniversary meal was underwhelming and not all that it could have been for the price we paid. We won't be back.

Easter Brunch was probably not the best time for a review because the wait staff was limited. We had to ask repeatedly for water refills and ordering was slow. After ordering the food came in a reasonable time but only part was hot. The fried chicken was delicious and moist but the biscuits and gravy were lukewarm. The grits with cheddar cheese were excellent and hot but the asparagus was cold and the gravy had too much tarragon. The banana cream cheese cake was the best I have ever had. I thought the price excessive but it was Easter so we splurged. On leaving the waiter apologized for the slow service and the manager made an effort to warmly escort us out. I want to come back for lunch or dinner because I think it deserves another chance.

We went for Easter brunch and were surprised to find we could only order off a $40 per person prix fixe menu. This was not posted online, and we expected to be able to order off the normal, affordably-priced ala carte brunch menu. The food was good, but not worth $40. When they say Belgian waffle with strawberries and cream, they mean there is a single strawberry on the side. And the service was mediocre; the waiter had to ask us to confirm what we ordered several times.

Impressive selection of menu choices and wonderful presentation keep us coming back to La Parissienne. On this visit we tried the quail and the salmon crepe; both portions were so generous that - even after sharing with each other - we came away with a 'to-go' box and were too full to try dessert. The owner always makes a point to check in with each table, but is not overbearing. This little gem is well worth the visit to downtown!!

We a business dinner at this nice bistro on a Thursday evening. Hardly any crowd and a very nice view of downtown at Canal & 12th. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly and very efficient. The food was excellent (I had the Barramundi, others had Atlantic Salmon and a filet). We all had desert (Crème Brulee, Chocolate Mousse) and they were also very good. The chef came out to thank us. A very nice evening and we made an excellent impression on our guests. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Word of caution: the parking deck next door closes at 7 PM.

My wife and I went for Valentine's Day Dinner. The restaurant was very nice and the manager was very friendly. Once we were seated the service was not the best as the waitress seemed a little uninterested in being there. The food was good. The escargot was very good. The entrees were above average as well. I had the duck and my wife had the filet. Both were cooked well and flavorful. I added on the Foie Gras with my entree but never received it. When I pointed out that the foie gras was never served but I was still charged for it the waitress never apologized for forgetting it. She did refund the money right away. All in all, it was a nice dinner but probably won't return for dinner.
