La MorraA pleasant set and settingThe food was delicious. The waitress was friendly and quite helpful. The prices weren't too bad for what it was, but do be prepared to spend some money5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAuthentic ItalianLa Morra really succeeds in creating the feeling of a small Northern Italian restaurant. The ambiance is just right, the price is quiite reasonable for the quality of the food and the size of the portions, and the wine list offers a variety of selections that pair exactly with the food, ranging from reasonable to splurge.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was excellent! We especially liked the little bites at the beginning (fried stuffed olives was a real hit), but everything was excellent. We also appreciated the choice between larger and smaller sizes of the pasta dishes. The smaller sizes were plenty for the women in our party.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMI wanted to take my date toI wanted to take my date to a nice place serving good food. La Morra hit the spot. We said we wanted to split the salad and it already came split on separate plates - it was outstanding. I had the beef dish and my date had the hen - the portions were so large that we ended up taking half of it home. All in all, we give it 5 stars.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is really exquisiteThe food is really exquisite and the prices, moderate.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMBoston's Best!!!Pound for pound the best Italian restaurant in Boston. Never a disappointment. The food is cooked to perfection, and expertly served by a knowledgeable wait staff who actually care what's coming out of the kitchen. I have had two special occasions at La Morra and the chef and staff have never let me down. An absolute must.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMconsistently greatWe have eaten at La More a several times. The service and food are consistently great. The wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable and they let you take your time to enjoy your meal and your dining companions. The food is delicious with a beautiful presentation.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMEverytime I visit Boston,Everytime I visit Boston, this is my not-to-miss place. I have loved it since they first opened ( back when I lived in Boston). Highly recommend4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWine tastingWe attended a fixed price wine tasting dinner which meant that we 4 shared our table with a couple we did not know. As usual, this added a pleasant conviviality. A brief talk by the owner taught us the origin of the name and how the chef had trained as well as a bit about the 2 wineries featured that night. Representatives from the Italian wineries charmed us with their delightfully accented explanations of the different delicious wines. A few extras embellished a lovely 3 course meal - extra starter bites with an extra light white wine, a house-made limoncello with the chocolatey dessert. The braised rib pasta dish = rich, tender and tasty. Lamb, roasted escarole and polenta perfect . Highly recommend these wine dinners.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThe risotto (stinging nettleThe risotto (stinging nettle and morel) was simply fantastic. As usual, deliciously tasty food in a comfortable setting!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMA good local findA beautiful little restaurant in Brookline. We had the fixed-price menu: four courses (salad, pasta/risotto, chicken/fish, choice of any dessert) which at $35 dollars was excellent value! We got a wine to match every course for an extra $15. The wines were good quality. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. An enjoyable evening with the only negative that the salad and pasta seemed rather salty (the rest of the food was delicious). A great place for good food and a romantic ambiance if you want to stay in Brookline!4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best in the BostonOne of the best in the Boston area. The food is inventive, without being pretentious, and flavor pairings really shine. Almost everything on the menu tempted me, but since I had to chose, I had a salad (delicious with kumquats) and risotto with fresh peas. Both were delicious. The pastas come in small and larger sizes so you can order them as appetizers or even a meal. I wish every restaurant cared about the food as La Morra does, and cared less about the buzz.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food - great time.Great food - great time. staff are cheerful and quick.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a great neighborhoodThis is a great neighborhood spot, perfect for special occasions. This was our third time here in a year. The food was excellent as usual. So was the service. The parking situation is the only drawback which makes it harder for people who have to drive.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first experienceThis was our first experience at LaMorra. Had been looking forward it visiting LaMorra after reading about it in , I believe eiher Boston marazine or Improper Bostonian. Our
party of seven included some "finiky" diners. HOWEVER, all were very pleased with the
extensive and varied selections of all three courses. The wait staff were personable,
prompt and attentive. All were pleased with the wine and beverage list. For a holiday
brunch and such a wide selection, the consensus was, the price was very reasonable.
We appreciated the seating. A shared dining room, but tables arranged to permit a sense
of privacy.
Looking forward to a return visit very soon.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMReally liked it here. GreatReally liked it here. Great food, great atmosphere, and great service. One thing that bothered me-I ordered a glass of wine without seeing a wine list. The waitress brought me one of the most expensive wines ($13) on the menu. She should have said something or given me a choice or a wine list. Didn't realize the price until I got the bill.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMDiverse and delicious menuDiverse and delicious menu offerings. Friendly and sharp staff. Would return again. We attended with middle school age children and they were welcomed.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMNoise level made conversationNoise level made conversation at a four person table difficult.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMLOVE LOVE LOVE it -- fromLOVE LOVE LOVE it -- from the day it opened -- never a bad meal and the service people are beyond wonderful3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMLike being in Italy! FriendlyLike being in Italy! Friendly welcome, great food, good service, dinner well paced and not rushed.
Blackberry cocktail is fabulous. Restaurant was very accommodating to a vegan guest.
She loved the vegetable entree. Carnivores equally happy3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely pleasant at La MorraThree of us went for a dinner on Monday in March 25th. It is the second week of the Boston Restaurant Week event. We had been there before and really know how good this restaurant is. It was no surprise, we had another delicious meal and a very pleasant night. The service was extremely good and we enjoyed everything we had. We highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys high-quality food.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMI've been here four timesI've been here four times and its always great food. House wine picks are very good and fairly priced. I'll be back!3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went during RestaurantWe went during Restaurant Week. We sat on the second floor next to the windows; as expected, it was busy, and it's just a big empty space so it was pretty noisy. Also the tables are close together and small, so I wouldn't say it's great for large groups. I enjoyed my meal, particularly the Cornish hen on the chickpea puree. My boyfriend didn't care for his as much; the fried mozzarella appetizer came out cold, and it was a lightly-breaded large hunk of cheese. The pork osso bucco was nothing special. Overall, I wouldn't mind going back there again, but with the prices it would only be for a special occasion.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMService is great. Food isService is great. Food is good in general, except that it's a bit on the salty side.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWent to La Morra with a friendWent to La Morra with a friend for restaurant week and it was amazing!! They offered 4 courses instead of the usual 3, and they were actually normal sized portions. Everything we got was incredibly delicious. The waitress was also extremely nice and helpful, especially in terms of picking out a bottle of wine (the menu is quite extensive). All in all, it was a wonderful dining experience, I will definitely be going back!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent FoodLa Morra has reliably excellent food. It is always a total treat to eat there, which is reflected by the fact that it is always busy. Service can be very slow when it's busy, though the staff is usually very friendly and warm. The food is worth the wait. Cocktails are excellent, especially served by Bernie.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMEvery morsel was absolutelyEvery morsel was absolutely outstanding! Shared 4 dishes with friends (and 3 courses) and every bit was amazing. Best meal I've ever had in Boston by far.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything here was fabulous,Everything here was fabulous, and the service was wonderful. Upstairs tables very close together.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently wonderful food,Consistently wonderful food, especially sharing half portions of pasta and risotto, combined with a few salads and cichetti (small plates). The bolognese is not in a red sauce, but it's likely the most delicious version ever.1/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
