A word from La Marina
Dyckman Marina has been a vital part of upper Manhattan's unique waterfront culture for more than two centuries. The newly rebuilt restaurant, bar, lounge and events space covers more than 75,000 square feet of Hudson River waterfront in Upper Manhattan. A short walk from the A-train, La Marina is the ideal spot in NYC to enjoy cocktails at sunset, to hop off your bike for a break, to host your event, or to enjoy a romantic, moonlit dinner for two. We're also walking distance from the Cloisters. With stunning river views, dining at La Marina is an "out of city" experience. Taste fresh-shucked oysters from 'Geppetto', the classic raw-bar boat, sample our famous Chicken Lollipops, crack open a fresh grilled lobster, or dig into a steak with a side of shishito peppers, both charred to perfection.

  • "Find out if there's live music or a DJ for the night. I went on Wednesday when a Salsa band was playing (excellent vibe). The view of the water, sunset and GO bridge were amazing. Great service. Food was good."

  • "Not sure about La Marina first 20 valet parking. no other parking price was very high. We asked for Mia Tia not sure what drink was. But it was not near Mia Tia. Hey would not remake drink and we still had to pay $14.00 for the wrong drink. We asked for fries they brought mashed sweet potatoes. Did trade them either. so much more to say. but not impressed."

  • "Went Tuesday, 7/8/14, for a 7 pm reserve for my hubby's bday.We were a party of 5. Wasn't crowded at all, beautiful picturesque scene, nice decor/ambiance,great weather to go along with it. Staff was friendly;even the manager came over to say hello and make sure we were ok. All of our food picks were DELICIOUS.The Sangria was on point. Overall we had GREAT TIME. I'll defiinitely be going back most likely on a weekday again or early brunch. I can see why this venue is so popular and can become ridiculously packed on a weekend, which i would imagine would affect the service and possibly the food.i'd say the key is reserve early,go early and/or pick an off-day during the week.Cheers and good luck on your visit!"

  • "What a wonderful place to have in the neighborhood! We go for our birthdays and always enjoy the view and food. Service is attentive and it is enjoyable. To sit and have cocktails before dinner. Everything is nicely presented, but be aware the tip is already on the check."

  • "The Marina was familiar to us so we brought out of town family. The service was lacking to the point another server noticed and took over. The food was good especially the BBQ sauce on the ribs, and the ribs were great. We would go back but more prepared for the very lively bar scene."

  • "Service was horrible. Waited over 1 hour and 15 minutes for our order which never came (party of 2). Always had to ask for an update from wait staff. We saw other parties come in after us and be served. What a waste of a great physical location by the management."

  • "The rudest service I have *ever* encountered. Made a reservation online days in advance. On the day of the reservation, a hostess called to confirm my party would be coming and I confirmed that we would. We arrived exactly on time for the reservation to be told that although the rest of the property was open and serving guests, the restaurant was closed. When I told a manager that I had confirmed my reservation a few hours ago, he brusquely told me that they didn't take reservations on Sundays and never have. What??? We were then told that the restaurant may open in an hour. When it opened, the menu was only hot dogs and hamburgers. Worse: The next day I rec'd an email from the restaurant via Open Table accusing me of being a no-show!"

  • "I brought a few friends through over the weekend, I had heard such good things about this place it met those expectation."

  • "We were drawn to this place because it's in a great location right on the Hudson River with a beautiful view of the GW Bridge. It's got great indoor and outdoor seating. But that's about it. We went for brunch and the food was overpriced and the portions were incredibly small. We were in a group of 10 and no one had anything memorable (think basic all-inclusive resort level quality). Two people at our table waited over an hour for their food (the waiter was nowhere to be found) and when it came it was missing items. Their card system went down and they blamed it on our card until five people at the table tried and they finally realized it was their system and told us to go use the $3 ATM on site. I will never trek to this restaurant again."

  • "I love the view and ambiance of this restaurant. I dining here felt like I was in another country it felt very tropical and refreshing very different from other dining spots in New York. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend."

  • "In a word.... AWESOME! Food, view, ambiance..... The best NYC has to offer!"

  • "Our server was great, however the food ... not so much! The food was cold and didn't taste very fresh. One dish was sent back, while another had about 2 bites taken and they still wanted to charge us for everything which was disappointing. After almost arguing with the manager, they removed 2 dishes from our bill. They sent over a round of free shots after we complained about the food, which was appreciated, however not necessary. Not sure I would return for dinning again, however maybe for drinks or something like that."

  • "I heard about this place last summer and finallywent their on wednesday 7/2/14. I wasn't blown away by the food but the drinks were GREAT. Nice crowd and beautiful view. Uou can sit outside and enjoy the view while you eat/drink. beautiful view when the sunsets. Staff were super attentive and friendly. I just hope it doesn't attract the wrong crowd and lose its elegant appeal. Great place for a date as well."

  • "It was a beautiful scene but the food and service sucked!!!"

  • "If it weren't for their location they'd have no business. Stick to the VERY basic and even so, don't expect all guests to be served at the same time, even for drinks. Everybody is smiling and nice, but the end result leaves a lot to be desired: they can't even cook a burger the way you ask. Again, if it weren't for the location ..."

  • "Attentive service, good food and best views in NYC all add up to put La Marina on the top of my list. Easy to find if you follow directions and convenient valet parking..... Bar scene is very loud with amplified Latin dance music but this can add to to experience if you let it. Quiet it's not..... Very eager, enthusiastic and charming young staff. One of the highlights of NY dining! Food was very good and came out to the table in a timely manner. Sunset is an amazing time to be there also!"

  • "Have been here for brunch a few times, and the place never fails to charm. On the Hudson River, with Ft Tryon and Inwood Parks nearby, big open space, great brunch drinks and a decent food (go for the oeufs cocotte), how can you go wrong? And tons of beautiful people parade in and out, and it's reasonably priced ... I just wish I were a bit younger. Love the place."

  • "Service was overall great, waitress very nice and attentive, the view and ambience incredible, however the food took way too long to come out, over an hr and half."

  • "I think it should only be consider a club becuse the food was really bad yo a point that couldn't eat the and had to ask for something else"

  • "This place has the best view, but what they don't tell you on the website it that you have to walk through a horrible neighborhood to get to it because parking is so scarce. Do not rely on valet because it fills up immediately and then you have to park on the streets or pay $40 at a parking garage. The crowd is not classy at all despite the apparent celebrity A listers that go. I was embarassed when my guests arrived for my husband's birthday the other night because it was so low class!"
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "Food was so so. Service was good. Location on the Hudson is fabulous. Avoid dinner Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays, unless you love mob scenes! $20 valet parking is ridiculous, particularly for that location!"
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "The valet parking service at la marina is unacceptable. How is possible that we have to pay in cash and in advance . Be ready with your twenty bucks in case you not finf parking outside which is what they do. The rest, six start."

  • "I went here with my friends for my birthday! I had a great time! I definitely plan on returning for dinner with my husband for our date night. Then bring the kids out for a family dinner!"

  • "The service was amazing just like the drinks & food, I really liked our hostess she was such a pleasant person & really helped us with anything we asked for. The scene was also great, I'd def go back."

  • "First they gave us a hard time about sitting outside, so they made me practically beg for one. After getting one, my wife had a great view of the water, and I had a view of a crowded and noisy restaurant. We had several waiters, so I was never sure who has taking care of us. In the confusion, they forgot part of my order, so I was upset with that. They clearly made a mistake and should have offered to bring the side dish out for free but they didn't - poor decision on their part. As a result, I doubt I will go back. One more thing, I found their menu very narrow. They need a lot more entrée and dessert choices."

  • "overpriced far below standard horrible food. loud noisy. will never ever return. Shameful, bad service and can't believe I spend that amount of money for absolute cheap bar food. one star above is way too much. A menu which doesn't even offer 1 vegetarian option."

  • "After waiting about 15 mins for a confirmed 7:30 table , food finally arrived 45mins after. If the food was worth the wait I wouldn't have been bothered but the food was over cooked and way to dry. They need to get a new chef quickly . The only thing good about this place is the ambiance and view ."

  • "Finally made it to this neighborhood gem located by the Henry Hudson Highway/Pier. The views and design of the restaurant are spectacular. They honor reservations made online, the hostess seated us right away. The server we had, had too many tables to wait on. One server to handle six tables with little help wasn't sufficient. He was too busy trying to rush. The food was very very very BLAND! What happened to that latino flare? Where are the SEASONINGS? Drinks were spectacular, had the frozen mojito."

  • "My husband and I were looking for a waterfront place to have drinks and eats in NYC. La Marina was recommended to us several times so we decided to try it out. We went here on a Saturday night and celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary there. It was beautiful. Great atmosphere, good food, good service and a good looking crowd to match. A must see for any New Yorker or tourist!"

  • "I went for brunch on a sunday. I ordered a medium rare burger and it came out medium well. I could tell by the outside that the inside was way overcooked. But I didn't send it back. I told my server that I didn't like the yucca fries that came with the burger and that I wanted to get the other fries that came with my guest chicken sandwich, he said that I couldn't substitute. I repeated that I don't like them and asked what can I substitute them for and he said nothing. I told him to ask his mgr. Then I got my fries. We also ordered the fruit plate to start. Everything but the cantaloupe was delish. Never seen cantaloupe so dried out and taste so bland. The sangria, the view and the company was the best part."

  • "Went on June 14th for my bday dinner with a group of 9. I brought my expensive cake from Heavenly Crumbs with us. The African american hostess that took the cake was awesome she was personable and friendly. The waitress that served us had an attitude in the beginning but after speaking to her manager she became friendlier. The chef does not do menu substitutions at all. They lit my bday cake with the name Kea on it and took it to the man at a table across the room. When the man told them it wasn't his cake they tried to hide it so we didn't see but it was too late. Boy was I upset and my group as well. They did eventually comp us two meals and two pitchers of sangria. If the cake incident didn't occur than the rating would've been higher."
